I googled how much spotting was normal after a pap because I had a bit this morning after having one Monday. My doctor warned me it was possible because my cervix bled when she did it but I still tweaked. All is good!! Also thankful she warned me the silver nitrate she used to help stop the bleeding may cause gray discharge or I probably would have lost my damn mind.
FTM and I am so paranoid about everything, 10+4 so getting close to the safe zone as well has having seen and heard the heart beat.
@kaitieb14 My OB said it is fine to eat sushi from reputable restaurants where you've eaten before and never gotten sick. She recommended avoiding tuna because of the mercury, but if you know the quality, sushi is OK. I went to sushi lunch last week and got one tempura roll (fully cooked) and one spicy salmon roll (raw salmon). If you're really craving it and you can get a good product, you should be fine.
All of my friends are in awe of these things, but I am not. Not at all. Also, why bother with A, B, C, D, DD, DDD, G, etc. What's wrong with the good ol' A, B, C, D, E, F, G...why skip E and F?
@kaitieb14 I do everything in moderation. I don't give in during the first trimester so I just avoid these things, but will eat fresh sushi, lunch meat, medium rare steak, and so forth. As long as it's not supermarket sushi and the restaurant is clean I think you're good. Make informed and thoughtful decisions!
I googled Starbucks unicorn frappachino and how healthy it is. Not technically pregnancy related but I've been looking at a replacement drink to my double espresso.

All this. I'd 100% rather eat sushi from a nice place than a salad from somewhere sketchy.
I've only ever gotten food poisoning from Chipotle.
How many grams of sugar to aim for during pregnancy. Google failed me - does anyone have advice? Most sites weren't pregnancy related and I quit after one said 25-40g/day. Like... no. That's like an apple and half a banana! For real?!
@car1a I have been struggling with sugar cravings too...i have an app (Fooducate) that tells me to stay below 25 g of added sugars. For me, I just decided to focus on added sugars and not sugar from fruits. I'm not even that strict on that...hopefully it is good enough.
The last thing I googled was about vitamin A intake in pregnancy. I don't recommend googling that.
@JDW0325 Here's my understanding (and I've been eating over-medium eggs all pregnancy) -- the concern with eggs is salmonella (which is actually ALWAYS a concern, not just during pregnancy). Salmonella is on the outside shells of eggs. Only the white touches the shells when you crack an egg and get potentially exposed to salmonella. So as long as your white is fully cooked (totally opaque and no longer jiggly) any salmonella would be cooked/killed regardless of whether your yolk is still runny inside.
@kaitieb14 my ob had the same recommendation as @adirat about only eating from reputable establishments and watching mercury content. I def had salmon don (raw salmon over rice with lettuce and cucumber) for lunch today. I ate it during my daughters pregnancy. His exact words were "no gas station sushi". The omega 3s are great for the baby my last Google was menu for a local Italian place. Pregnancy related...I'm hungry!
@JDW0325 I haven't heard of the runny yolks thing, the only issue I read about with eggs Benedict was the hollandaise sauce but even that was like you're being super duper overly cautious
@armstrongatron My twin had hormonal migraines. Birth control and Topamax worked when she wasn't pregnant.
I Googled "rainbow baby pregnancy announcements" and cried my eyes out. Then I Googled "Beetlejuice Bird Face" because that's what LO's face looked like on today's ultrasound.
And now, "tonsil stones" - I have never heart of them!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@bcashaw I plan on googling sometime in second tri or maybe beginning of third. I'm curious but way too queasy to do that right now, only thing holding me back.
Am I the only one who's not super grossed out by the mucus plug? Lol DD1 it came out in one big clump (I was young and dumb and didn't even know what it was) and with DD2 it came out in pieces over the last couple months. It's really not all that horrible.
@baby3forme some of the pictures weren't too bad, at first I was like "oh I can handle this" but then very suddenly I could not. Some photos are pretty brutal
I've been avoiding runny yolks because I read somewhere that eggs should be fully cooked. It has been terrible, and if not the case I'll be oh so happy.
Re: GTKY: What's the last weird thing you googled?

"What is the next bra size above DDD"
then "What stores carry a 36G"

DS1 is 7. DD is 1. DS2 is coming in late April.
PS: it's nothing special.

makes total sense. I appreciate the detailed response!
