What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Last month of trying before June IUI/Clomid combo. DH has a second sperm analysis on May 8.
How are things going? Sorry I have been MIA for a few days ladies. I am on call this week at work and it is 24/7 calls and I am beyond exhausted. Plus I get woken up every night with calls so my temps are totally unreliable. Plus my body is acting wacky (as per usual). Got positive OPK's indicated O day was CD 13, and had AF cramps thinking I was getting AF days ago - but nothing (all BFNs obvi). This cycle is now longer than my last 3 so who knows what my body is up to. Get it together ovaries.
Any questions? Nothing I can think of right now
GTKY: How do you feel about theme parks/roller coasters? I used to like theme parks as a kid, but have always hated anything that goes upside-down (roller coasters) - I am terrified of rides like that. Now that I am older I am even more scared of heights and have bad motion sickness sooo I like to pass on them. I like water parks though! ha
@haylsbayls so sorry that you find yourself here, but this is an amazing group of supportive women
@antoto ahh so exciting!! I know it must be hard to temper the excitement, but hoping so hard that this will be your time!
@magnolia131 FX'd so hard for you this cycle! Can't wait to hear about Thursday!
@saralee797-2 ugh so sorry about the runaround, but glad you finally got an answer (altough I am sure being told the sticker price wasn't exactly a fun phone call either).
@ratparade that is so great that your mom was supportive and you had a positive time telling her. Wish I could say the same for my mother. She means well, but just says ALL of the wrong things and sounds blaming (bleh) ha.
@madspunk ahhh hooray for pretty follies!! That is awesome!
@safire3 I hear you on the crazy work week. Boo to being sick - I hope you are feeling better!
Awww @BertieMeetsGertie thanks, friend! My H just called with some good news. I can get everything through the hospital associated with our clinic for like $1,500!! It is an IF miracle. I am going to have him call GoodRX anyway to double check. Thanks for your support. I miss interacting with you daily but know I am still lurking and rooting for you
@sjb2215 I need to really check Conquering Infertility out. I know several ladies here have found it so helpful. I'm sorry that you're struggling with the waiting game. I can relate to the teaching schedule/summer issue. I am currently not teaching (I had to find a job quick when we moved and ended up in my old line of work), but we've agreed to delay me returning to the classroom for another school year because of all of this. IF is not friendly to a teacher's schedule at all.
@RatParade I'm glad your mom was receptive about all of this. It can be so good to feel like someone IRL is on your side. I'm also glad to hear your DH is being a trooper about all of this.
@Aurora1973 I'm sorry for the nerves but FX everything worked out with your timing.

@safire3 I hope you O'ed so that you can move on to your TWW...more waiting, I know. Hang in there.
@saralee797-2 I can't speak for IVF meds specifically but recently used South Miami Pharmacy for Ovidrel and had a really pleasant experience. They are only two hours from me and were able to send a driver with the meds the very next morning free of additional charge when I told them I'd be leaving town- the receptionist was also very helpful and knowledgeable. I only mention them because I've read other people outside of Florida recommend them here on the Bump (I want to say tamalahoops recently mentioned them but I don't want to summon her to this thread if she doesn't want to be). It might be worth at least doing a Bump/google search for! <---Edit: I just refreshed my page. Congrats on finding them for so little $! An IF miracle/victory, indeed.
Thanks for all your gifs and celebratory comments, guys! I feel so much better now that we can make progress again.
@saralee797-2 It sounds like you got this covered from your last response, and I may have posted this here a month or so ago, but just in case you or anyone else here qualifies there is a discounted fertility drugs program advertised on my RE's website. I'm in CA so may be limited to this state, but it doesn't actually say that on the site so maybe it's not. Might be worth looking into:
@GG620 Sounds like we will be doing IUI w/ Clomid around the same time! I'm hoping mine is before June, but since I have no clue whether I O'd yet this cycle (because I also have a silly whacky body) who knows!
@sunniegrly I know you aren't responding here anymore, but just so you know I'm with @safire3 in that I don't think anyone here meant to offend you and it was more about cautioning you about stressing over what could be nothing. IF is the club no one wants to belong to. It's totally natural to be confused and upset when things don't happen immediately and you see people around you in your life getting KU at the drop of a hat --we've all been there. I have wonky, long cycles and still was told I was normal "enough" to TTC for a full year before making an appointment with a RE. "You're normal till you're not" is one of the mottos of the TTGP board and what you're experiencing, fortunately, is not out of the ordinary. I hope that is comforting to you: not upsetting. It means you might get KU a lot easier than you think and not have to take all the meds and jump through the hoops people do here. Again, this is a good thing! We don't want you to have to go through this because it totally sucks. Anyway, best of luck with everything and I hope to see you around the dailies.

@vflux33 Great news!!!! Best of luck with the IUI !!
Thanks EVERYONE for the kind words and support. I finally spoke with my doctor yesterday and it looks like the surgery will be at the end of June unless my body miraculously ovulated late this month and I can get on the schedule for June 1st. Bluejeanbabi who had the same diagnosis was wonderful enough to message me and made me feel much better and hopeful about the situation Now I need to find a new hobby while I'm benched for the next three months.

@haylsbayls I remember you from the dailies. I'm so sorry you find yourself here. Hugs to you!!
ETA: AFM, my chart worked itself out, sort of. This morning it told me
that my O day had changed to CD19, which I'm very confident is not
correct. So I did what I should've done yesterday, changed the detector
setting from Advanced to Research. That moved it to CD18, which was
what I thought in the first place. The FAM setting also agreed with
that. So now our timing is -5, -2, -1. I'm not sure which timing I
would prefer, but I feel vindicated about my O day, LOL.

@haylsbayls So glad you got some answers. I feel you on the hobby thing--for the 3 weeks I was benched I didn't know what to even do with myself. I hope you miraculously O'd late and that it goes by fast for you!
Hi ladies!! So I was busy at work yesterday and didn't get a chance to post and now I'm way behind on this thread so I will come back later for comments
Diagnosis (If you've been): unexplained
Cycle/CD: 16/24
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?)
Femara, TI, vitamin d
How are things going? Things are going good, based on my US and progesterone BW the femara did everything it was supposed to so my dose is good. Had 2 good follies and progesterone level was 20.8 my RE wants me to test this weekend and I'm nervous about it, never felt that way about testing before!
Any questions? None
GTKY: How do you feel about theme parks/roller coasters? i love them and all rides!!
Also since mobile is up and running I wanted to attach a pic of my new furbaby for those who asked last week! I also posted it in TWW but wanted to share here too! Sorry for the huge picture and the breeders foot and other dogs in the background this was when we saw him at her house but my favorite pic of him! His name is Bandit. Edit-autocorrect
I typed up a whole thing about the med pricing I got and now I see your update. That's great news!! $1,500 is an amazing price!
@madspunk I actually don't know if there's a connection between polyps and fibroids. Fibroids are basically benign tumors, so they're a more dense tissue, while polyps are some other type of tissue (I should learn more, come to think of it). They call it a "mock embryo transfer" but it's really just another saline sonogram (SHG), and the polyp appeared as a small black mass. I don't know how they know the difference between a polyp or fibroid on the ultrasound, they looked the same to me! Actually, as I was stimming a nurse mentioned to me that I had a mass growing, and she assumed it was a small fibroid and said the hormones can accelerate growth (I have a small one still there that they didn't see during surgery or on an ultrasound until after the big ones were gone).
@haylsbayls I know just how you feel to be benched with surgery. It suuuuucks to have to wait so long. But I will tell you there is a certain zen that comes over you when you know you just have to sit and wait and there's nothing you can do until you heal. Do you know yet what the recovery time is?
AFM: Good news! The appointment I have on Monday is for both hysteroscope and polypectomy! She said they don't do sedation because it's in his office, so it will be a local anesthetic and I take ibuprofen beforehand. I'm so relieved I don't have to wait for yet another appointment after this. Now I just need to tell my RE's nurse so she can make a new FET schedule.
Me: late 30s | H: early 30s TTC #1 since April 2015 RE Dx: Fibroids, surgery Jan 2016 IUI #1 and #2, Nov/Dec 2016, BFN IVF March 2017: ER - 5R/3M/3F, 1 PGS normal Polyp removed May 2017 FET May 2017 - BFP! Baby boy born 2/2/18
@eggplantface that's great you were able to get on the schedule for both! Hoping I reach the point of zen soon The nurse said one month or one full cycle of recovery - is that the same recovery time you will have after your hysteroscopy? eta: To clarify - surgery recovery is one-two days. TTA time after surgery is one month
Me: 28 | DH: 33 EDD: March 24, 2018 - angel baby at 21 weeks
@heatherdubrow That would be awesome! I need to call/email my nurse to get the updated schedule.
@haylsbayls I don't actually know what the recovery time is (I've read a week before doing anything TTC-related, like sex), so I'm curious if I'm allowed to start estrogen right away or if I need to wait a week. I'm on BCP so there's no cycle to wait on, just time.

Diagnosis (If you've been): unexplained
Cycle/CD: 19/16
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Waiting on results of endometrial biopsy, starting thyroid medicine, gearing up for IUI next cycle
How are things going? RE appointment last week went well, she gave us a lot of new options and vitamins, have a plan in place for the next few months. Anxiously awaiting the results for the endometrial biopsy. Get them tomorrow.
Any questions? Probably later this week
GTKY: How do you feel about theme parks/roller coasters? I get motion sickness so not a huge fan of roller coasters, theme parks aren’t horrible but not first pick on activities.
@leekat14 FX you don’t get to the needle part, if so sending all the strength and fortitude to get through it.
@LoveInDC I will be lurking you this week! FX for an O.
@shortstack930 RE appointment is so exciting! Happy you have had some quality time with YH.
@zwink1 Hope the conversation last night went smoothly. MH and I have found it helpful to talk to a therapist as we go through this process. It helps to make sure we know what page we are on and keep lines of communication open. IF sucks and is so hard on relationships.
@haylsbayls I can’t offer you any advice or experience, but sorry that you have a reason to be here, hope you find the support to help carry you through your journey!
Ok stupid me tested today at 11dpo and obviously got a BFN. So now as I'm moving closer to IVF I do have a question...I'm on mobile so it's hard to tag everyone...my office doesn't do bc pills prior to, so the month of May I'm doing all my testing but also ordering meds. Should we not be having sex? I mean clearly I would be a SS and get KU but in all seriousness I wouldn't want to have just wasted $5200 on meds. Or should I say f it and if it happens then I'm only out $5200 not the $15k or more that ivf could cost me?????
@leekat14 Sidenote before I answer: Shop around for meds because you can probably get them cheaper than $5200, like @saralee797-2, or using the compassionate care program if you're totally OOP. Unless you need to be on a super high dose and need tons of meds, that sounds high.
I can only speak for what I would do in your situation, and yes, I would totally have sex and hope to be a special snowflake! It sucks to be out that money for meds, but it sucks more to shell out another $15,000 to do IVF plus go through the monitoring, ER, FET prep, etc. You may also be able to return some meds (not the refrigerated ones, though, as we found out the hard way so we're out $700 unless we do another ER). The only time you can't have sex is during the stimming and before you get your period after the ER, so you don't accidentally fertilize 20 eggs.
p.s. I'm sorry about the BFN, it's the worst! I hope it's just too early.
Me: late 30s | H: early 30s TTC #1 since April 2015 RE Dx: Fibroids, surgery Jan 2016 IUI #1 and #2, Nov/Dec 2016, BFN IVF March 2017: ER - 5R/3M/3F, 1 PGS normal Polyp removed May 2017 FET May 2017 - BFP! Baby boy born 2/2/18
@leekat14 Sorry for the bfn. Unless your office specifically tells you to abstain I say HIO. You don't have to order a full cycles worth right away so you can order a few days worth of meds at first and then order more once you start. Just about all the pharms ship over night.
Also, like @eggplantface said, shop around if you are self-pay. Ask your RE office if they have a preferred pharm that offers a discount program. We are self-pay for meds and I use Apothecary by Design which offers a discount for my doctors office. And most all of them offer self pay discounts and compassionate care programs.

2016 - dx with super low ovarian reserve; failed cycle with clomid, failed IUI, 2017 - egg retrieval #1 - 3 eggs, 0 embryos appropriate for transfer; ER #2 2 eggs, 0 embryos on day 3; ER #3 1 egg 0 embryos moved to donor egg in summer 2017; 35 eggs retrieved; 19 fertilized; 9 total embryos Fresh transfer Dec 2017= BFP! baby boy born 8/22/18
May 2019 - surprise natural pregnancy ended in MC Nov 2019 FET; MC at 9 weeks May 2020 FET; BFN July 2020 FET; CP treated with methotrexate Oct 2020 BFP!
@leekat14 I would also HIO. I have seen too many people get KU on a natural cycle right before IVF on here to not believe there is a chance. Definitely shop around for meds. Ask your RE whether the hospital has a pharmacy associated with them and call them because we got our meds basically at cost that way. Otherwise, GoodRX, Freedom Fertility Pharmacy are good to shop around. For us, we have a $15k lifetime max for infertility. We were going to go through our insurance for the meds but it was going to eat up $6k of the max and we were going to be responsible for $4k oop. After shopping around we are going to pay $1700 oop and save our lifetime max for the procedures. Feel free to PM me with any question since I just went through all of this! Sorry for the BFN love.
@LoveInDC, lol, love your analogy! I don't think it's that either of us is concerned about the stigma of counseling, it's just that neither of us has really raised it to the other. He knows I go to my support group, and he's mentioned tagging along before. It's definitely worth talking about for the two of us.
@magnolia131, @saralee797-2, @LoveInDC, @RatParade, @madspunk, @safire3, and @ramzlau thanks for all of the support and good vibes! After both of us had a day to calm down, we had a nice, constructive chat about the argument. He admitted to being a dick, I accepted that I pushed (subconsciously, probably purposefully) one of his buttons, and we talked about the real issue. It was nice to hear more of his perspective. As @vflux33 suggested, a large part of his issue with completing testing is that he's in denial. I get it, I do the same thing, but there's no denying it anymore. This testing isn't going to indicate a problem, that's already been established, it's to try to figure out the cause and potentially find a solution. We'll see if he gets rolling a little more on it.
@magnolia131 I'll have my FX for good news from your beta tomorrow!
@sjb2215, I appreciated that aspect of Conquering Infertility as well. What is really interesting about it for me is that H was actually ahead of me when it came to starting to TTC. He was ready well before I was. That seems to be flipping the longer this process drags on!
@RatParade, I'm so happy to hear that your talk with your mom went well! Sometimes those conversations can be so tough.
@saralee797-2, so glad that you found cheaper meds, what a relief!!! That Dr though, what a PITA!
@beachbunnyxo123 Yay for 2 good follies, FX so hard for you, and omfg that is the cutest puppy ever!!! I love the "idea" of puppies, just not the actually having to teach them things part.
@ramzlau, I hope everything comes back clear on your endometrial biopsy, GL!
AFM: I was offered and accepted a new job and am starting on the 15th. I'm thrilled to have one less worry, and it means we can start moving again with TTC (mainly to IUI/IVF). We'll still hold off on any intervention for at least 3 months (until my probation period expires, and to give FMLA a chance to kick in), but it's forward progress! I'm also very excited to have moved in a new direction; this is a complete career transition for me, which will hopefully be great because I was miserable before.
@zwink1 I am so happy that you got a new job!! I recall several conversations we had about our jobs and how unhappy you were so I am glad that you are starting off in something new. What industry if you don't mind me asking? Yayy for good news!
I took a job in the writing department of a company that does contract work for municipalities around the country (shout out to @LoveinDC for that idea, actually). It was that or something compliance based for me, and this panned out first. I'm more than a little relieved that I don't have to walk into a courtroom for the foreseeable future!
@zwink1 Sounds like you landed in the right place! So happy for you. I ended up in compliance and let me tell you corporate life is so much better. Best wishes for your future success!!
@zwink1 Woohoo! Congrats on the breakthrough with YH and on the new job FX this job is a fit for you. I personally love contract work, and I hope that you do too!

@saralee797-2 so sorry for the frustration with the doctors office. I hate waiting for callbacks and their delays! And I hate that no one sees things from the patients perspective. I work in healthcare and see it all the time that's the business aspect of it and I frigging can't stand it. I hate calling for insurance authorizations for my patients and getting denied it makes me want to yell at them through the phone.
@heatherdubrow sorry that you're in the waiting phase but I'm so glad that you are moving forward and started on the bcp!! When is your FET?

The FAM setting also agreed with that. So now our timing is -5, -2, -1. I'm not sure which timing I would prefer, but I feel vindicated about my O day, LOL.

@vflux33 Yay for good news!
@LadyMillil So close to getting started! It feels so good to finally stop waiting and start doing.
@beachbunnyxo123 Awwwwww so adorable!
TTC #1 since April 2015
RE Dx: Fibroids, surgery Jan 2016
IUI #1 and #2, Nov/Dec 2016, BFN
IVF March 2017: ER - 5R/3M/3F, 1 PGS normal
Polyp removed May 2017
FET May 2017 - BFP!
Baby boy born 2/2/18
eta: To clarify - surgery recovery is one-two days. TTA time after surgery is one month
EDD: March 24, 2018 - angel baby at 21 weeks
@haylsbayls I don't actually know what the recovery time is (I've read a week before doing anything TTC-related, like sex), so I'm curious if I'm allowed to start estrogen right away or if I need to wait a week. I'm on BCP so there's no cycle to wait on, just time.

So late this week! Tagged a few, will try to keep up with the conversation this week
@vflux33 Yay for the great news!
@beachbunnyxo123 Yay for good follies and FX for the testing!

@leekat14 Sorry for the BFN

AFM:
I was offered and accepted a new job and am starting on the 15th.
I took a job in the writing department of a company that does contract work for municipalities around the country (shout out to @LoveinDC for that idea, actually). It was that or something compliance based for me, and this panned out first. I'm more than a little relieved that I don't have to walk into a courtroom for the foreseeable future!
