@kiwi2628 I also had a horrible reaction to the pill. It turned me into such a whiny asshole--could hardly stand to be around myself for the brief time I was on it.

@magnolia131 I admire your restraint and keeping all the FX for you too!

  • @antoto - Thanks for the love and kind words. They didn't do any bloodwoork to get numbers yet (bloodwork is this month). They just gave me Provera to see if I'd bleed or not since it had been a couple of months without AF. Dr. Google tells me that bleeding after Provera means I didn't ovulate. Maybe last cycle was a fluke. I know I shouldn't give up hope yet but, as @magnolia131 said, "hope feels dangerous."

@saralee797-2 Doctors with God complexes are the WORST. It's bad enough to be that into yourself but to create unnecessary work for your staff? Ridiculous. Hope you don't get him next time. I don't have secondary insurance but that sounds like a PITA. Hope your BCP time goes by fast!
  • @saralee797-2 Ugh to all of the red tape. I cannot stand dealing with those sort of hassles. I'm sorry for the added stress because I know days like that leave me in a frenzy. Also, that doctor sounds like such a diva! His poor staff. I hope you don't have to see him again because working with a doctor you cannot respect is the absolute worst.
  • @antoto and @vflux33 - I know I'm jumping the gun and putting the cart before the horse but I also don't want to count my chickens before they've hatched. (See what I did there?) The reality is that I have an anxiety disorder, recurrent major depression, and I'm only 4-5 months in recovery from my last 3-year (!!!) battle with major depression. I understand that I may not have IF issues after all and that my prognosis for the future is still unknown. I understand that it takes some time for your body to regulate after coming off of the pill. However, I don't think that an absent cycle (which is what I had) is normal. Hopefully, I will be proven wrong about that. If my emotions seem irrational at this point, it's only because I'm already coming from a place of emotional vulnerability. I express my admittedly somewhat-irrational emotions here because I can't express them to anyone else in my life (except my therapist once a week) without making them too unhappy on my behalf (if they know how much I'm hurting, they hurt too). Thank you both for helping to keep me grounded in reality. Your reassurances really do help.

  • @sunniegrly I struggled with depression and anxiety for a very long time too.  Journaling always really helped me, personally, especially when I was wrestling with overly anxious/irrational emotions.  Writing it down on paper and then reading it back to myself, especially aloud, made me more aware of when I was over reacting.  Have you found a coping mechanism that helps you get through this sort of thing?
  • @antoto - Maybe I should try journaling, although I've never been great at it. Listening to audiobooks helps because I can replace my internal monologue with something else.

  • @kiwi2628 that is super weird!
  • @vflux33 @magnolia131 diva is such the right word!!! I actually stepped on the gloves because I mean who does that? It's a shame because everyone else I've seen has been really great. I might tell him to March himself out next time. Just call me diva patient.
  • @LadyMillil I'm excited for you to start everything! Rooting for you!!
  • @LadyMillil woo hoo! FX for a smooth start to IVF!

@RatParade Thanks for the info.  Im sort of in the mindset of "what's another couple thousand at this point".  Sad to think like that but here I am
  • @haylsbayls so sorry you find yourself here ❤

@vflux33 - Thank you for your concern and advice. Obviously everyone's situation is more complex than they can explain on a public forum without writing a memoir. For various reasons too complicated to explain here, I'm confident in my decision that this was the right time to start TTC. Also, both my psychiatrist and therapist think this was a good time for me to start TTC. I was well and happy until the last few weeks when I began worrying about my reproductive health. Am I having lots of feelings about it, some of which are maybe irrational? Yes. Am I a little vulnerable and prone to being over-emotional? Yes. Am I on the verge of a major emotional breakdown? No. There's never going to be a perfect time for me to start TTC. This is a good enough time.

@safire3 - The actual RE didn't have any appointments until July, but his PA was able to see me in just 10 days. I love PAs/NPs. I see a women's health NP in addition to my OBGYN because she's so much easier to get in to see. But after seeing things on here about waits of 6 months to see REs I realize I'm fortunate that wait times are so short in my area. That's partly why I decided to go ahead and call to make one so soon in my TTC journey - I figured the wait time would be longer.

@heatherdubrow - I think at this point I may still fall under the category of "menstrual problems," which they also see people for. I explained the situation and they still made the apt., so they're at least perfectly willing to take my money haha. I figure at least I'll feel better talking to an expert.

@vflux33 - I'm still wading through all the comments and just saw your good news!!!!! So excited for you and glad you can start moving forward!

Also, thanks for the support that some of you have given me, but clearly others feel like I'm invading on turf that doesn't belong to me. In all seriousness, maybe ya'll should take "testing" out of the title or impose an "x months TTC" rule if you don't want people who have early issues to post in here. So I'm just going to vacate this thread for now. And I'm not trying to create drama - I get it if you don't feel like this is the right place for me right now. Gotcha loud and clear. Moving on. I just wanted anyone who's following my posts to know why I'm no longer posting/responding to this thread.

  • @vflux33 YAY!! I am so excited for your (his) results and that you get to start!!!

@vflux33 yay for the good results. So happy you can start again!

@sunniegrly I personally have no problem with you being here. If I remember correctly you did ask when you first posted and a lot of the ladies here encouraged you to stick around. I can imagine it's difficult finding a place to 'be' on this board when your cycles are not cooperating and fitting into the tww or wto. I think the ladies who commented before just don't want you to stress unnecessarily over this since you are still very early in this process and irregular cycles after coming off of birth control is not uncommon. I know you will worry about it no matter what but we can tell it is really stressing you out. I really hope that it is just a hormonal glitch due to the birth control and that your cycles return to normal and you are KU in no time. This IF journey is something that I wouldn't wish on anyone and we all hope you can be spared that.
