We usually bathe at 8pm, he'll eat his last bottle around 8:30, and he's asleep around 9-9:15pm. If we don't have to get up for daycare/work he'll sleep til about 7:30-8am.
Oh my goodness, we have 2 bottom teeth poking through 5 months next week. He's quite disobedient, I tell him all the time to STOP growing up! Lol

I love when Eli touches my face while he is having a bottle! It's so sweet. @ZoeFer that's what I fear happening! I have started setting 2 alarms. Lol @ultratomato Eli hs kind of created his own routine since we started daycare. I try to givw him a bath and a bottle around 6:30 bc he has started falling asleep around 7ish. He has definitely started sleeping longer though which is so nice. I've even started a morning routine when I take him to daycare but that's just more how I talk to him in the morning and what I hope for his day.

Oh WoW @capps42612! No sign of teeth with Pia just yet, she chews on EVERYTING and can't stop drooling for weeks, but nothing.
Im enrolling Pia at daycare, she might start in 3 weeks, first a half a day and slowly increasing so she (or think it's more me) can get used to it. Ive mixed feelings as I won't work until September (I hope) but I do need a breather to just well breath or clean the house. And I think as it's just her and me she needs some other entertainment, she loves other kids and isn't afraid of other people just yet. Might have her feeling comfortable being there before she hits that 'I only know one person fase'
@capps42613 hopefully Cason isn't too uncomfortable with the new teeth coming! They are def growing too quickly!! @tvh1982 - I had Eli in daycare a day a week for a few weeks before he started full time and it was amazing how much I could get accomplished. Plus you are right it's good for the socialization!

Hi ladies!!! I've gone completely MIA from the bump and things have been a bit crazy around here but I'm back and looking forward to catching up on all I've missed! I went back to work 2 weeks ago so it's been quite an adjustment. I feel like I have no time for anything and the days are flying. If look forward to ending each work day and just running home to cuddle my boy. Aiden is at home with a nanny and I'm quite jealous of all the time they are spending together. But he seems to really like her and smiles at her non stop. It was so hard at first, I just kept thinking I hope he doesn't love her more than me. But he's in good hands at home so I'm happy.

I've worked as an au-pair when I moved to Norway. The children absolutely loved me, but I was always second best. As I was available 24/7 I was always around and I got cuddles, whiped tears and comfort them when being ill. Yet once mummy entered the room I was no longer needed as mummy was home! Even though they loved me, mummy was definitely number one! I can totally understand the thought popping up in your head @tulips29. But I know from experience that no one (and I definitely didn't want to) can compete with mummy!
@ultratomato we have bedtime between 7-8pm depends how cranky she is. We shoot for 7:30 though. If she can make it. If she's cranky at 7 then we start putting her to bed then if needed. So around 7:15 we start getting her dressed in her pjs, new diaper, and talk to her in quiet low voices. Then we go upstairs with a bottle where we have white noise playing. Even if she ate at let's say 6:30pm we will still give her an oz or two as part of her routine. It helps her to relax. Shes usually sleeping by 8-8:15 and then sleeps all night. She's typically up between 6:10-7am. She's been sleeping like this for about a month. It's been amazing. We haven't done the crib transition yet though. So that'll be interesting. She's four months today actually!! Waiting for the sleep regression to start now. Ugh.
@tvh1982 that's what my nanny says too and I've come to terms with it. First few days were definitely the hardest.
@Drove2u I'm jealous of your baby sleeping all night long! We're still waking up at least once for a feeding although this weekend he's up every 3 hours again. I hope this isn't a beginning of a sleep regression because I got so use to his 5-6 hour stretches of sleep.
Have any of your babies gone through a common cold yet? It looks like we've picked one up. He's not miserable just has a stuffy nose constantly no matter how many times during the day we use the baby vac. And he's got a bit of a cough. The doc said it just has to pass on its own. If any of your babies had this, how long did it take for it to pass through the system?

Ladies... I think I have a clogged duct. Does anyone have suggestions how to make it better? It hurts so bad. This solely pumping thing is kicking my butt. I wish I could just breast feed but the babies still have feeding tubes. Has anyone ever exclusively pumped and have any advice?

Age: 25 DH: 28 Together since 2011, Married May 2014 and TTC since April 2015
@kelrauh use a hot compress and massage the duct for 5-10 minutes before you pump. After you pump, get in the shower, let hot water hit your breast, and just push on the clog toward the nipple. It might take a couple days, and it hurts like a mofo, but it worked for me @ultratomato We start Riley's bedtime at 7ish. Daddy changes and swaddles him while singing, then I nurse him. I "read" him a story (just tell it cuz I've read it enough I have it memorized) and then I sing the same song every night. When we switch sides, I sing another song or two. If it's a bath night, we bathe him at 630 or 645 before starting the routine. Then I have a special song I sing to him as I put him down in his crib. If he hasn't napped well, we start everything about 30 minutes early (or whenever he stays to get whiny.)

@Tulips29 - we are just getting over his first cold. It lasted like 8 weeks with an ear infection thrown in there for good measure. It was not fun for sure. Daycare has been a lot of fun in that aspect lol.. but it's building up His immunity so hopefully in a year or two he won't get sick very often! Some of the things that helped were: having him in a steamy room for 10-15 min, saline drops and the nose frida (at first it grossed me out but seriously it's amazing and totally worth the money), and Vick baby rub helped.

@kelrauh If you can do hand expression during pumping or other times, it might be helpful. Plus the hot compress+hot shower as @dragonfaerie said. At the end of a working day, I usually get some ducts clogged, I do hand expression during nursing or pumping and it helps. There are several videos on hand expression at kellymom. Hope you are feeling better today.
@Griffin5413 yikes! Doesn't sound fun. Poor Eli, hope he's all better now! I'm going to try running a hot shower and sitting with Aiden in there in hopes the steam helps. I couldn't do the nose frida, I get very light headed using it so got the baby vac instead.

Massages indeed help @kelrauh, like suggested above a hot shower and massage away. What I also got suggested was massaging towards nipple while pumping or feeding. Hope it clears soon!
I am sorry about all the poor little babies who are going through the cold. Hope they all feel better soon. We were in the city this weekend, and taking the subway would be much easier (and cheaper) than driving+parking but H did not want to take the subway because he is afraid Lara could get sick. He was not like this before but being a parent started to make him a bit paranoid (at least i think it is paranoid) . His father always thinks the worst thing that could happen in a situation and he was making fun of his father. And now I think he is becoming like him, more and more. It is scary. I do not want to raise my kid too restricted. Do you use public transportation with LOs ? Most of you probably do not live in places that you normally use public transportation but just wondering what you think
I only used public transportation while being in Norway with Pia @zoefer. She also been on my nieces birthday parties were like 12 kids hang around her and they for some reason always want to touch a baby Sure she has had a cold twice, first one with only 6 weeks. Her second one resently, but was over real quick. I reckon she'll be getting all germs from kindergarten later on, so she might just catch them now as I'm at home and toughen her immune system while I can take care of her. I haven't used public transportation here in the Netherlands, but that's only because it's not stroller friendly so it's either easier to drive or just walk.
@ZoeFer I am probably more like your husband, I have become paranoid about all the possible dangers out there lol! that being said in my midnight reading of the news there was mention of a man in Oakland with the measles who took the train system there 3 days in a row before his diagnosis My LO is a month today and not yet vaccinated so thinking of anywhere there are lots of people in close confinement sends my mommy paranoia into overdrive!

@ZoeFer I'm in NY and would take Aiden on the subway if needed, but I think I would cover him up with a cover just to be on the safe side. I went into the city during the last week of my maternity leave to introduce him to my co-workers, but I ended up driving in because it wasn't easy for me to take public transportation with a stroller from where I live. I also don't believe in restricting babies too much, they need to be exposed to stuff eventually. The first month we were very guarded, didn't let anyone aside from parents/siblings into the house. After that everyone was welcome. Although the other day it was really nice outside so I had his stroller top down so he could enjoy the sun and some random dude on the street just walked up to us, stuck his face into the stroller and oogled Aiden. He did give a compliment so I know he was trying to be nice, but it freaked me out. I wanted to shoo him away and cover up my baby so more strangers wouldn't stick their nose in his face and get their germs all over him. I am unlike our parents though, who think he needs 10 layers of clothing to go outside. I just follow the rule of putting on 1 extra layer on him than I have on me and he's been fine.

measles is scary @2legbaby, they get the shots at 1 year appointment I think. L is 5 months old now, I think she should be exposed to normal life a bit more but yeah subway is not the most convenient thing with a stroller and yes there is a lot of contagious stuff in the NYC subway. So maybe it is okay to drive in Manhattan a bit longer.
So unlike with DS1, the breastfeeding is actually happening for me this time around! My milk never came in with DS1, but after supplementing here and there the first 1.5 weeks with DS2, we are now EBF. I never thought I'd be able to do this!
My question for those of you who are BFing, when does the nipple soreness start to let up? I am expressing BM and letting it dry on my nipples, using lanolin, and also trying APNO, but I am still so sore. Any end in sight?

Sorry it is difficult to look back to see who says what when I'm responding from my phone. I'm very nervous about Dylan getting his first cold. He will likely get sick when he's in daycare in September when I go back to work. I usually get sick in October once the germs and exhaustion catches up with me in the beginning of each school year, so I may end up passing things onto him as well.
I am trying to get an exercise routine figured out, since that seems to build my immunity. I go to zumba when my dad is able to babysit on Tuesdays, but I need something more. DH is still not dependable for being available at a specific time, so I'm relying on my parents. Has anyone started any home workout programs that you are happy with?
I have been taking Dylan out with me a lot more. I cover his stroller with a cloth that protects him from the sun. I noticed when I use it in stores, people are more likely to stay out of his face. When I don't use the cover he gets much more attention from people. So I figure that the cover protects him from some of the germs.
In the last few weeks Dylan has become much more vocal. He no longer has his newborn cry. He makes lots of sounds as if he thinks he's talking. He also yells a lot and wants more attention. If I leave him on the play gym, where he used to be content on his own for a good 30-40 min., now he starts yelling (but not really crying) after about 5 to 10 min. When I come over to him, he has a huge smile on his face and seems very happy playing. If I leave again, he starts yelling again. I just maake sure I stop by the visit more often now that he has more social needs.
A few weeks ago, I completely stopped breastfeeding. I was primarily bottle feeding anyway. He has become much more active during many of these bottle feeding sessions, it can be a little more difficult. He sometimes tries putting his hands on his mouth at the same time and has become more picky about his feeding position.
After he had been sleeping through the night for about a month (around 10 pm to 7 :30 am), now he's waking up for an early morning feeding again. It could be the 4 month sleep regression I read about. I thought he might have started teething already, but other than some more fussy news when feeding, the fuzziness is not as consistent as I would think if he was teething. I think he's just getting more aware and more picky about stuff, so he tends to whine more when he needs to be burped, if he doesn't like the feeding position, or if he's tired. He's even "telling me" sometimes when he needs to be changed. It's interesting to see how he's changing and and communicating more.
@BlueEyedDreamer congrats! Are you exclusively pumping on bf'ing as well? It took me around 8 weeks for the soreness to go away. If you're pumping, I would make sure you have the correct flange size as it made a big difference for me. I was using the wrong size and was in a lot of pain and discomfort. Then I discovered pumpin pals flanges and I love them. I got a smaller size and I pretty much don't feel any pain when I pump. Also, you can put coconut oil on them before you start pumping to ease up any soreness.

@BlueEyedDreamer glad you are able to bf this time! Are the nipples just tender or really uncomfortable during feeding? I ask only because they say in theory breastfeeding should not be painful. I was extremely painful especially on the right side when I first started and after two weeks went to see a lactation consultant which is where they diagnosed my little one with a tongue tie. Now that she has that corrected it feels a hundred times better. I still get some tenderness when she feeds for hours on end which she is inclined to do sometimes (and is currently doing lol) but not nearly the pain like before. If the pain persists or progresses I would definitely recommend seeing a lactation consultant to make sure that the latch is okay and nothing else is going on. I second the nipple shields too, they can give the tatas a rest and my little one does not seem bothered by my using them!

I have a pole in my living room @lynnnj as I did pole fitness before, and I have a trx. Its that I'm exhausted for a while now that I haven't trained for a long time, but I've done those after Pia was born. Even been running with her in the stroller. My bonus dad (stephdad) has registered me for a 5k in two weeks. So we'll see, he believes I can do it without even training.
Besides being exhausted I'm also extremely emotional. I was in a store that also sells stuff to decorate a front garden when a baby is born (it's s tradition here in the Netherlands to have a stork, a sign and some other stuff being placed in your garden when a baby is born) When I saw the stuff I was fighting back tears as it reminded me of Pia being born. Then today I carried down the cradle as I moved Pia to her crib and I got all teary again. When my sisters husband came to pick it up and said 'I'll pick it back up at my parents in what 14 months?' I was glad he said it while walking out with it as I almost started crying again. Might be because I have a 6 month old girl at home one Monday! When people ask how old she is I can use the word year, as in half a year! Wtf time!!!
@Tulips29 I have started pumping once a day, but it doesn't seem to be causing any pain. I always try to use some lanolin before and after to prevent any irritation or abrasions from the pump.
@2legbaby At this point, I think it's just normal tenderness. We did have some latch problems early on, but we got some help and sorted that out. They ruled out any tongue tie issues for him, too. Nursing isn't really painful - I'm just a little sore/tender afterwards. I think it's just a matter of "toughening up," but hopefully there is an end in sight soon!

@ZoeFer that's what I fear happening! I have started setting 2 alarms. Lol
@ultratomato Eli hs kind of created his own routine since we started daycare. I try to givw him a bath and a bottle around 6:30 bc he has started falling asleep around 7ish. He has definitely started sleeping longer though which is so nice. I've even started a morning routine when I take him to daycare but that's just more how I talk to him in the morning and what I hope for his day.

@tvh1982 - I had Eli in daycare a day a week for a few weeks before he started full time and it was amazing how much I could get accomplished. Plus you are right it's good for the socialization!

@ultratomato We start Riley's bedtime at 7ish.

What I also got suggested was massaging towards nipple while pumping or feeding.
Hope it clears soon!

She also been on my nieces birthday parties were like 12 kids hang around her and they for some reason always want to touch a baby
Sure she has had a cold twice, first one with only 6 weeks.

My question for those of you who are BFing, when does the nipple soreness start to let up? I am expressing BM and letting it dry on my nipples, using lanolin, and also trying APNO, but I am still so sore. Any end in sight?

I was in a store that also sells stuff to decorate a front garden when a baby is born (it's s tradition here in the Netherlands to have a stork, a sign and some other stuff being placed in your garden when a baby is born)
When I saw the stuff I was fighting back tears as it reminded me of Pia being born.
Wtf time!!!
