  • @cmessamore I agree! Don't need to tell you even edited at all, imo.
  • I agree with you 100% @cmessamore! The auto correct has had me scratching my head many times.

My UO: I've been stalking pinterest for nursery ideas, and I can't wrap my head around all of the white. I do think most of them are really beautiful as far as aesthetics and home design go, but they just seem so cold and sterile for a baby. Give me all of the colors!

  • I think wine is overrated.

@armstrongatron  Give me all the colors also!
  • @av2323 I have to agree with @Roliepoliecoley4 on this one! Wine is delicious if you are drinking the right one! Yummmm

Agree @cmessamore - I think it could be good if you say something snarky and regret it, or cause a lot of replies but then change your post for some reason, or edit to add something major. No one does that too often though from what I noticed!

  • @ElizabethSchuyler that literally made me lol!
  • @cmessamore I understand why it's polite to do it, but I agree with @car1a...usually when it's actually a good idea to explain, people don't. I feel like the only time you should be expected to explain edits is if the actual content is changed. That said, I'm gonna keep doing it...so I don't bug anyone.

  • @cmessamore agreed. I do it, but I'm always like do I really have to tell everyone I wrote the wrong number or that I'm adding a sentence?

@armstrongatron some of them can look sterile but if done correctly with bits of color I think they look wonderfully relaxing! Soothing place to be. Maybe this is my UO but having too many bright colors makes me feel really stressed, I'm a muted kind of gal. My whole apartment is decorated in dusty blue, light grey, and beige. Makes me feel so much more calm.

@kissthesky32 Haha! OK yes, good call. That should require a "TMI in spoiler box"

  • Have I been breaking the internet rules by not explaining why I edit?
  • @av2323 Yes. And now you must be shunned.

  • @av2323 not my internet rules! lol I do what I want! :sunglasses:
  • @swimsister my in laws like the mom and dad thing and tried to encourage it. Not something I'm comfortable with. They've finally accepted that I just call them by their first names. My BIL plays along but I think it's because they don't really like him so he's trying to score all the points he can.
  • @swimsister I still don't call my in laws anything lol. I will definitely never call them mom or dad but I don't even feel comfortable calling them by their first names. I don't know why! I've successfully avoided it so far though

  • @DuchessOfCambridge ditto on the what to call the in laws thing. i just can't do the mom and dad thing, but something about calling them by their first names seems weird and mr/mrs last name way too formal. so, i just really don't call them anything, except when i refer to them in conversations with others by saying "nana/pop" to my DS or "your mom/dad" to my DH or DH's mom/dad to anyone else. when talking to them, i just don't say names at all.
  • The in-laws thing is SO TOUGH for me. My ILs see it as a sign of respect because they had to do it for their respective in-laws. I just say "Grandma" or "Grandpa" now so my son starts calling them that.

  • I agreee that the inlaw as Mom and Dad thing. My  inlaws are really pushing it! They even go so far to call me their daughter to people and I always correct them.  I have one set of parents that I adore and no one else can even reach the standard they have set.  Everyone else goes by their first name.

This is is obviously a hot button issue for me.  Lol

  • @duchessofcambridge omg the new caterpillar eyebrow thing is awful haha.  No one needs to look like they have two fuzzy caterpillars stuck on their face.  When I took my 16y old stepdaughter to get eyebrow filler, I totally banned the fuzzy caterpillar look. Haha

DS1 is 7.  DD is 1.  DS2 is coming in late April.

My UO is that I don't like/take prenatal vitamins.  :#

I tried with the first two pregnancies but they made me feel sick and usually made me puke (yes I tried many kinds, even the Flinstones  ;)). So this time I'm saying f-it! Give me some raw kale or anything besides those little devils!
  • @baby3forme I hate prenatals too. I try really hard to take them, but if I forget here or there, I don't lose any sleep over it. I can only take the gummy ones and I take them at night, so they don't make me vomit.
  • Super random UO but I hate when radio stations change song lyrics to add their station name to it. Just heard one of those and it always makes me super annoyed.
  • 2Dash2Dash member
@baby3forme - yeah I take regular adult gummies (usually at night when I'm in a less pukey moment) and then I take a folic acid in the morning - it's super tiny and no problem.  I cleared it with my Dr.  And when I have thrown up it's from pills and water hitting my stomach so I feel you!

  • @ugoglencoco I agree! But I'm totally okay when they change the lyrics to insert local sports teams names. Lol Really shows my priorities!
  • UO: it bothers me when people tell me how much I "have on my plate". I know I do a lot and juggle lots of stuff it feels patronizing sometimes.
  • I hate it when radio stations change the word "city" or something like it to the ACTUAL name of the city we live in. Like, hate it. There was a Lady Gaga song a couple years back that especially irked me.

  • @ArtificialRed  You just gave me all the feels with "Gramma/Grampa".  That is how I referred to my grandparents and it's sort of rare to see it spelled that way.  I love it  <3<3
  • Lol, I call my in laws mom and dad but I have grown very close to them, personal preference I def get both sides though, like my SILs have psycho in-laws so if I were in her shoes I wouldn't do it with them.
  • I'm so relieved that I can stop noting my edits.  Because I have serious mom brain and have to edit almost every one, but not for reasons anyone cares about!
    This.
Also, I call my MIL "Mama Lisa."  If you met her, you'd get it.  She's so sweet and wonderful, but it still keeps the distinction for my mother.  Plus, I actually wanted a close relationship with my in-laws.  I grew up seeing how strained my parent's relationships with their IL's were and didn't want that for me.  Fortunately, I got the best MIL on the planet.  And everyone's kinda picked up on her nickname since I started calling her that when DH and I got engaged.  Now she wants it to be her grandmother name too.  <3  My FIL on the other hand is pretty tough to connect with and I've just stuck with "Mr. Pete" since it seems to suit us both.

  • @zigzag8412 That's really sweet! I like that you picked a name for her that you were comfortable with.

To me it's not that I have a strained or difficult relationship with my MIL. It just gets under my skin that she calls HERSELF "mom" in notes and emails to me when I have never called her that.
