Hey ladies,
I was wondering if there are any other plus size mother's to be? I am kinda hoping for others who get the whole feeling of not want to post belly pics or people assuming you are farther along due to a larger belly. I am so excited for this baby but I always kinda hoped to have that cute little bump right away and I know it will take a little while before you will see my bump instead of just my belly rolls LOL

Thank God for the responses because I am having such a hard time with it, like my SILs and my one sis were tiny and had that like picturesque cute big belly with zero extra weight and I am here like, no I swear it's only 11 weeks not 25...
I so know the feeling @KLink15 I'm a FTM and I definitely fit into this category. I carry more of my weight in my hips and booty but I wonder when I will start showing!

I hope everyone finds something you love about your pregnant body. You are doing something amazing that takes a lot of strength and endurance.
Even so, it can be hard to feel positive about your body, especially if no one seems to notice your awesome bump. It's ok to feel bummed. If this happens, I suggest getting some maternity tops that cinch/tie under the boobs and start touching your belly more. People will pick up on it then. Mamas-to-be touch their bellies in a way plus size ladies don't!
I don't want to be a lurker, but I also don't know how the group feels about this overweight mama-to-be participating in this thread. Right now, I'm not considered plus by some standards (5'2", 160 lb, wearing size 14 jeans at the moment with the pregnancy bloat). However, I've had my share of body image issues. Topped out about 205 when pregnant with DD. Took 2 years for me to lose the weight despite 10 months bf, in part due to an unrecognized intolerance to folic acid (not the natural folate), 2 MC, 3 family members passing, and a lot of family drama!
Please excuse the book. Lots of love to you ladies!

Also, in my opinion, you are more than welcome to join/participate in thread! I think it's fair to say that everyone has some sort of body image insecurities and we are all here to support and encourage one another as you have already done for us with your sweet words!
I did have a meeting with an MFM today (referred to b/c of age), and that did make me a bit more nervous with talk of weight based complications, but I'm just trying to take it one delay at a time.
Rant: found all my maternity pants from 2013 all in great shape but I realize I now have more weight on my thighs as a result they don't fit just the way they used to. And rise up a little. Ugh. Maybe I can do some thigh toning excersizes or...just chuck them and buy brand new.
Also - curious about everyones experience with ultrasounds. Have you been successful in having abdominal ultrasounds or do you always end up having transvaginal ultrasounds? How is your luck with the heart monitor in your OBs office? Does anyone have issues?
Do your doctors have you do any extra tests? Mine want me to do an early glucose test at 16 weeks and a 24 hour urine collection. I think she said the 24 hour urine was because I'm AMA-just turned 35! I'm annoyed at that one.

@Airynn Chica, I have to do an early glucose tolerance due to my PCOS and increased risk for GD, but I think it won't be for a few more weeks (9+4 now). They did check my A1C with my initial blood work and it was fine, and that is pretty standard to check.
I have never had to do an early glucose screening, but I have never had a single issues with blood sugar. I have always passed the 1 hr tests.
Edit: they did an abdominal is tonight to check the heart beat and it went great. Crappy picture, but that didn't bother me one bit.
