@alparodi (or anyone else taking MaterniT21) - did you call your insurance company to verify coverage? I looked online at the sequenom.com site and it estimated my OOP cost at $0 but I've heard of people paying $1500 so I'm paranoid and wondering if others called insurance to get pre-approval?
@car1a when I called my insurance they didn't specify which type of NIPT was covered, just that NIPT was covered since I was 35. I'm still nervous I'll end up with a bill but fx I won't.
@jess0211 agreed - I hear a lot of stories about insurance companies trying to deny payment, but then the testing companies only charging a small fraction (around $200) to settle the bill. Or insurance demands $200 OOP. Either way I'm going to do the test, I just HATE talking on the phone with strangers so I'm trying to avoid as much hassle as possible! (And congrats on your test results coming back low risk!!)
@car1a I understand. I dread talking to strangers on the phone, particularly insurance companies. When I called about carrier testing the lady had no idea what carrier testing was or the conditions I was calling about. I got so frustrated I started crying!
So pumped for everyone finding out already!!!! We're waiting for the 20w scan because I have major anxiety/control issues that can be a problem so we're trying to do as minimal testing as possible to keep me from obsessing over tests and give me a chance to just relax and enjoy having a baby on the inside. BUT. I think it's so fun hearing about all of you finding out already! Keep the sex comin' y'all!
@car1a OB verified. I'm advanced maternal age, so I'm covered. I know they checked because they were going to do a different one but it wasn't covered by my insurance.
It's a Girl!!!!!! I'm beyond stoked!!!!I told everyone I felt like this was my girl and I was right!!!!! Chromosomes are all normal!!!!! Happy Monday all!!!!!
This thread is just the best, congrats to you all!!!! I'm team green but I am curious, for those who have found out already, did you look at the Chinese gender chart and if so was it true for you? I know it's probably not accurate a lot of the time but just thought I'd ask since I'm living vicariously through all of you!
Just found out we're having a girl!! Already have the sweetest 18-month old boy, so now our family will be complete. So happy! Incidentally, my morning sickness has been SO MUCH WORSE this time, so I was wondering if it'd be a girl because the pregnancies are so different.
We got our results yesterday....all looks good and it is a GIRL! DH and DS both were hoping for another boy, but I have to tell ya, between the two of them and two boy dogs, I'm not upset about adding a little more estrogen to the mix! So grateful for good results as well.
We got the Panorama results back today and it's a GIRL!!! We are over the moon excited!!! It feels so strange to know this early since we didn't do any early testing with DS!
Patiently waiting on our results! Okay not much patience is being had over here...lol We took the test Friday and I'm like can you tell me already. lol
I'm dyingggggggg to find out what the twins are. I'm in Canada and it's so hard to find out what the sex is before 18 weeks. I am really hoping at my 12 week ultrasound the tech will be able to tell us but usually they are not allowed to tell you. I don't see my OB until 15 weeks so I don't know if she would even tell us then. I wish there was a test we could pay for to find out but no such luck!
I love this thread. I'm so excited for everyone but also so jealous. We're not doing any testing so we won't find out until the anatomy scan. I'm secretly hoping we can see something at my ultrasound next week. I'll be 13 weeks.
I had the Panorama test done exactly one week ago. Still battling sickness in our house(now it's my son ) so it's been rough. Got the call today that everything came back "low risk" and we are having a little girl! I shouted "No way" into the phone and scared the poor secretary at my practice. I was positive we were having a boy. So exited for another little girl though!
Re: Here for the Sex!
