Win: Successfully lugging both boys to school yesterday to enroll in summer courses.
Fail: I'm still not laughing, but somehow it illuded my mind within the moment that Johnny crawls and rolls, and I sat him down in the recliner so I could pull dinner out of rhe oven a few days ago, and he fell off of it it just startled him and he wasn't hurt, but the mom guilt is real.
I had LO in his swing solidly napping last weekend while I went out back to help my dad with something in the yard. When I went in to check on him 5 mins later he had rolled himself over and was hanging off it mufasa-style. Needless to say straps are your friend. Complete mom fail. At least I learned my lesson before he got hurt!
Those straps are so annoying but completely necessary. We have a vibrating chair that I used to always sit S down on to do something. I think the straps were defective and I just never took it back to get a new one because I figured I wouldn't use them anyway. She almost rolled off a few weeks back so needless to say we won't be using that anymore.
+1 for straps and close calls I finally get that they are there for a reason and now no matter how much V protests she is locked in tight. Had a highchair scare where she was mad her pears were gone and kicked the tray off her highchair and slid down and H caught her.
Gone are those days where I wondered why the heck every baby device had straps.
Mom fail- so for Mother's Day I'm doing fingerprint necklaces with LOs fingerprint for the grandmothers. I was using a red sharpie trying to get her fingerprint and I sat it down to press her finger on paper and in .02 seconds she grabbed it, and ran the marker up her face! Hahahaha I just fell out laughing and eventually scrubbed it off.
H and I started a new tradition about a month ago and it feels like a major win that we have stuck to it. Friday nights are now our date night in. We pick a recipe from one of those meal delivery services at the beginning of each week. On Friday after LO is asleep we make it together and actually sit down to a Real Adults(tm) meal at the kitchen table that is *gasp* still hot when we get to it. It has been really nice to make it a point to connect each week and make some time for just us without having to find someone to watch the baby or worry that we're a burden on anyone else. I love cooking and it is really meaningful for me that we can do it together.
Little does he know I'm going to start putting him in charge of cocktails come summer. Muahahahaha

@fitlady21 That is too funny. They are so quick now and literally have to be watched every second.
The grandmothers chose this one.. you send a picture of her fingerprint and she engraves it. An inexpensive yet very sentimental gift.
