  • @ameliabedelia-2 Where do you live? I'm in Texas, and being a conservative is definitely the popular choice down here. At my office in particular, I'm one of two "out" liberals.

  • @kmallery08, I am in the DC metro area (northern va). This is a very very liberal area.  All of my friends are liberal and it makes for spirited (though respectful) debate after drinks:)

  • At the risk of being flamed... I think that a lot of women who wear leggings out in the community should re-think it. I love wearing them at home because there's nothing more comfortable, but I'm curvy and they show a bit too much for my liking. Often when I see a bigger person in leggings with their ass uncovered, my first thought is "I wonder if they have a mirror at home..."

I know I'm in the minority on this one, because it seems like everyone wears them out fearlessly regardless!

  • @ameliabedelia-2 Hey girl! I'm in northern VA too (inside the beltway)! Just moved here in January!
  • @CandyApple2012 I'm with you 100%! I'm a bigger person who lives in leggings (in and out of the house), but I won't leave the house if my flowy top doesn't generously cover my butt and crotch. If I have to tug my top down every time I take a step, I shouldn't be wearing it. I feel like almost more judgemental about other legging wearers, since I have so many rules for myself.

And what's with these teenage girls wearing crop tops with leggings?! I'm glad you feel comfortable showing off your adorable, youthful bubble butt, but know where to draw the line!!!

  • @ameliabedelia-2 I agree with @kmallery08 that being an outsider politically is exceptionally location dependent. I live in the south, in a large city, and liberal is considered a bad word. Althoug, our numbers are slowly growing per recent election results. I grew up in a small town down south too and not being a Republican was tantamount to being a leper. Love a good spirited, respectful, and well informed debate. Where I grew up, those were hard to come by.
  • My UO is even though it's early on I am over all the pregnancy guilt and rules for what I eat, wash my face with, and do during my day. All I want is a glass of wine, sushi, and to use my wonderful retinol face cream. I know I could do some of those things if I wish, but the side eye I would get from my husband/friends/MIL would not make it worth it.

@missbmama, preach woman!  I am SO not on board with the feminist movement either. When they had that "Day without a woman" march....which left a bunch of women without daycare/schools (nothing shows support for other women like screwing over the people who rely on you!), I was disgusted. I am not a fan of Trump, but agree......yup, he's OUR president so time to move on.

@brittyclem, you just inspired me, I am having sushi for dinner. And I shared a beer with DH the other night. I am immune to the side eye:)

@rainbowdashh, dude, my brother is so far left he now calls himself a communist.  It makes for very interesting dinner conversation at my tea party father's house, lol.  We are a super mixed bag, but I think ultimately, we all want the same thing....a safer more peaceful world with opportunities for ourselves and our kids. It sucks that having different opinions nowadays means someone is "right" or "wrong"

  • @b48kate I have no issue with those who aren't happy about Trump. We all have opinions and that doesn't bother me. I have two close girlfriends who are very much against him and are part of the feminist movement as well and we still get along. It's just my own unpopular opinion about current political beliefs and events.
  • @brittyclem I could not agree with you more! I went to the grocery store and was craving turkey sandwiches for lunch this week so I got all the 'fixins'.... I totally forgot that deli meat is 'off limits'...
I have a friend who is due in the next couple of weeks who has been super strict with her 'pregnancy diet' almost to the point that she seems ignorant about the whole thing!! I read 'Expecting Better' and Pregnant Chicken... and I plan on continuing with the sushi, a few sips of wine, deli meat, soft cheeses (after checking if its pasteurized), and runny yolks!!!! As a side note, my mom ate tons of sushi with both my sister and me and we turned out just fine....

  • That was a super long rant. Sorry ladies! DH surprised me with a unicorn frappuccino and I'm pretty sure that was the most sugar I have ever consumed in one sitting.  :o

I will never flame someone for saying this!! LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS!! Don't get me wrong I love leggings like the rest of us, but if you are going to wear them make sure you have a shirt that covers your lady bits!

  • If our President jokes about grabbing a woman by her p*ssy (can I even say that word on here?) and the government continues to screw over women's healthcare, then we still need feminism.
Can you elaborate on government screwing  over women's healthcare?

  • @brittabatwhite did you think the unicorn frap was any good? I haven't tried it! I see people saying it's sour and the thought of milk and sourness does not sound terribly intriguing lol
  • UO: I hate telling people I'm pregnant. It's so awkward. I've only told my husband so far and like it this way. This time will be incredibly uncomfortable telling my mom. I get hg (hasn't started yet, crossing my fingers) and my mom has had a number of things to say about my second being our last. Honestly, we thought we were done too. Dh had a vasectomy scheduled and we were content with our two but surprise, here we are. I just don't want to hear about it.
  • @speach13 totally agree...maybe I'm just too old but I haven't liked a Beyoncé song in like 10 years....!

@rainbowdashh I just don't think it should be totally free. Maybe finding a middle ground, like increasing Pell and Map grants or making them  available to more people. Some articles I've read mentioned some pros and cons of free tuition and I feel like the cons resonated more with me than the pros. It's a lot of "what ifs" but I could see how they could happen. Colleges could end up having much longer wait lists, the value of degrees may go down, and there may be large repercussions to state and federal budgets. I'm not sure where you're from, but living in Illinois... there's literally no room for free college tuition in the state's already crumbling budget. I respect your opinion and I would love to know more about why you think free tuition would be a good idea (other than the obvious- no student debt lol)

  • @jljeanblanc she's had a couple bangers I can jam to but I would never actually buy an album!
  • @kvacmak Oh man. That goatee is BAD!

@speach13 I had mixed feelings about the unicorn. I was unsure at first... It wasn't sour, it was a nondescript berry flavor. Then it started getting more sour. The nondescript berry flavor kind of went away. I can't really describe the new flavor, but it was better than the beginning. Whatever you do, DON'T TASTE THE BLUE GEL ALONE! It is not okay. It is so so so wrong. The blue gel is what turns it sour, but you can't eat it by itself.
