I am a conservative...there, I said it. Not to be confused with a Republican. I don't believe in political parties, but my beliefs lean right on most things. That seems to be quite unpopular these days

@kmallery08, I am in the DC metro area (northern va). This is a very very liberal area. All of my friends are liberal and it makes for spirited (though respectful) debate after drinks:)

At the risk of being flamed... I think that a lot of women who wear leggings out in the community should re-think it. I love wearing them at home because there's nothing more comfortable, but I'm curvy and they show a bit too much for my liking. Often when I see a bigger person in leggings with their ass uncovered, my first thought is "I wonder if they have a mirror at home..."
I know I'm in the minority on this one, because it seems like everyone wears them out fearlessly regardless!

@CandyApple2012 I'm with you 100%! I'm a bigger person who lives in leggings (in and out of the house), but I won't leave the house if my flowy top doesn't generously cover my butt and crotch. If I have to tug my top down every time I take a step, I shouldn't be wearing it. I feel like almost more judgemental about other legging wearers, since I have so many rules for myself.
And what's with these teenage girls wearing crop tops with leggings?! I'm glad you feel comfortable showing off your adorable, youthful bubble butt, but know where to draw the line!!!
@ameliabedelia-2 I agree with @kmallery08 that being an outsider politically is exceptionally location dependent. I live in the south, in a large city, and liberal is considered a bad word. Althoug, our numbers are slowly growing per recent election results. I grew up in a small town down south too and not being a Republican was tantamount to being a leper. Love a good spirited, respectful, and well informed debate. Where I grew up, those were hard to come by.
Leggings forever. No one can pry them off my fat ass.
I think society has told us what women (particularly overweight women) can and cannot wear and I'm not down with that. I'll wear what I like and I don't care if others have a problem with it.
My UO is even though it's early on I am over all the pregnancy guilt and rules for what I eat, wash my face with, and do during my day. All I want is a glass of wine, sushi, and to use my wonderful retinol face cream. I know I could do some of those things if I wish, but the side eye I would get from my husband/friends/MIL would not make it worth it.
Oh man this one makes me so nervous to post lol but it's a definite UO especially for where I live... I am not a new age feminist. I don't support the feminist agenda or agree that we are in any way discriminated against and I support President Trump. I think it's super wrong that women walk around saying #notmypresident um, yes he is because he's in office. Phew... I did it.
@missbmama, preach woman! I am SO not on board with the feminist movement either. When they had that "Day without a woman" march....which left a bunch of women without daycare/schools (nothing shows support for other women like screwing over the people who rely on you!), I was disgusted. I am not a fan of Trump, but agree......yup, he's OUR president so time to move on.
@brittyclem, you just inspired me, I am having sushi for dinner. And I shared a beer with DH the other night. I am immune to the side eye:)

People said terrible things about Obama but that seems to be forgotten when #notmypresident is brought up.
He's a pig and not my president. You can be republican, democrat, socialist, or anything else. But if you are a bigot, I don't like you. Political ideals do not have to infringe on basic rights. Mr. Trump is a bigot and quite frankly, a giant douche canoe.
I have never met anyone who said they didn't support the "feminist agenda" who actually knew much about feminism and/or did not clearly enjoy the hard fought victories of feminism while decrying the movement.
Might as well throw it out there- I'm so far left I might as well be socialist. I respect the opinions of anyone and everyone so long as there is no prejudice behind those ideas.
@rainbowdashh, dude, my brother is so far left he now calls himself a communist. It makes for very interesting dinner conversation at my tea party father's house, lol. We are a super mixed bag, but I think ultimately, we all want the same thing....a safer more peaceful world with opportunities for ourselves and our kids. It sucks that having different opinions nowadays means someone is "right" or "wrong"
Momma to Amelia Marie (7/14) and Austin Samuel (11/17). Adding baby (girl) #3 on 7/21
@b48kate I have no issue with those who aren't happy about Trump. We all have opinions and that doesn't bother me. I have two close girlfriends who are very much against him and are part of the feminist movement as well and we still get along. It's just my own unpopular opinion about current political beliefs and events.
@brittyclem I could not agree with you more! I went to the grocery store and was craving turkey sandwiches for lunch this week so I got all the 'fixins'.... I totally forgot that deli meat is 'off limits'... I have a friend who is due in the next couple of weeks who has been super strict with her 'pregnancy diet' almost to the point that she seems ignorant about the whole thing!! I read 'Expecting Better' and Pregnant Chicken... and I plan on continuing with the sushi, a few sips of wine, deli meat, soft cheeses (after checking if its pasteurized), and runny yolks!!!! As a side note, my mom ate tons of sushi with both my sister and me and we turned out just fine....
I hate the #mcm and #wcw posts on instagram since usually it's just someone constantly posting a pic of their significant other, as if we're supposed to be shocked that someone's man crush is their husband. I feel like when couples do this, they're trying way too hard to let everyone know that they're super in love and not at all on the rocks. It kind of tells me that something is actually probably wrong with the relationship, like they're just getting over a bad fight or something and need to declare their love on social media. My sister and her fiance are unfortunately this couple. They will have this massive fight and then once they make up, it's time to let the facebook/instagram world know how in love they are with each other, using words and phrases they would never say aloud to each other. It's so fake.
#tbt posts can be cute but not when every week it's a picture from your wedding

My UO today is that retail stores are not a playground, nor are they a day care. When your child makes a mess you should be the one to help them tidy up. 'The people who work here will take care of that.' Is probably the most entitled and bs parenting move ever (unless you are having some sort of emergency ie baby blow out, tantrum, etc I see you mama and I've got your back. I'm probably going to offer before you even have the moment to think about it). this is a great oppertunity to be setting a good example and teaching responsibility. If you need help figuring out where things go, ask. Your child shouldn't be alone in store. Period. It is not the employee's job to watch them. They don't have the time or the training to be in childcare. If I have to tell your child (usually multiple times) not to climb the shelves or railings, not to run in the store, it is because I really don't want them to get hurt. I don't mind doing this because I know that you cant have your eyes on her at every second. This is not a judgement on your parenting or your child's behavior. Beneath that carpet is a cement block, there are heavy books and toys on those shelves. We had to remove our mini table and chairs because so many climber kids hurt themselves. One lost a tooth. Don't get defensive or annoyed that I've had the audacity to tell your child what to do, I am helping you. That being said, if your kiddo is having a loud day or a hard day we retail folk don't mind the noise. Kids have just as much of a right to communicate as anyone else and for the little ones sometimes crying is that communication. All kids have bad days and throw fits and I know you are momming to your fullest. No judgement.
That was a super long rant. Sorry ladies! DH surprised me with a unicorn frappuccino and I'm pretty sure that was the most sugar I have ever consumed in one sitting.
@missbmama I think the term "feminist agenda" just really gets my goat. That is a right wing talking point more than an actual thing.
Plus, if there was a feminist agenda, I would definitely have been on the mailing list when it was distributed. So I'll be pretty pissed if one was released without my knowledge.

I will never flame someone for saying this!! LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS!! Don't get me wrong I love leggings like the rest of us, but if you are going to wear them make sure you have a shirt that covers your lady bits!
If our President jokes about grabbing a woman by her p*ssy (can I even say that word on here?) and the government continues to screw over women's healthcare, then we still need feminism.

Constantly trying to defund planned parenthood, the president's rewrite of his healthcare bill targeted essential health benefits - like maternity care and newborn care. Meaning, those things won't be covered by insurance, or it will be covered under a more expensive plan, and you'd also have to be married.
@CandyApple2012 i love the way my ass looks in leggings, all day errday!

IT DOES NOT WORK. Eat when you are hungry, stop when you are full, choose foods that make your body feel good. That's it. That's all. End of story. [excuse my extreme passion on this subject ]
This may not be unpopular but I don't think college tuition should be free. The sense of entitlement that my generation seems to have is so unnerving. Why should college be free? I mean, yeah the interest on student loans is absurd and that should be fixed but making tuition free? Come on.
@brittabatwhite did you think the unicorn frap was any good? I haven't tried it! I see people saying it's sour and the thought of milk and sourness does not sound terribly intriguing lol
UO: I hate telling people I'm pregnant. It's so awkward. I've only told my husband so far and like it this way. This time will be incredibly uncomfortable telling my mom. I get hg (hasn't started yet, crossing my fingers) and my mom has had a number of things to say about my second being our last. Honestly, we thought we were done too. Dh had a vasectomy scheduled and we were content with our two but surprise, here we are. I just don't want to hear about it.
@speach13 why shouldn't it be free? I don't think it has anything to do with entitlement. In countries where college is free, people are happier. I think everyone is entitled to education, not just those willing to go into debt or whose family can afford to pay tuition.
@rainbowdashh I just don't think it should be totally free. Maybe finding a middle ground, like increasing Pell and Map grants or making them available to more people. Some articles I've read mentioned some pros and cons of free tuition and I feel like the cons resonated more with me than the pros. It's a lot of "what ifs" but I could see how they could happen. Colleges could end up having much longer wait lists, the value of degrees may go down, and there may be large repercussions to state and federal budgets. I'm not sure where you're from, but living in Illinois... there's literally no room for free college tuition in the state's already crumbling budget. I respect your opinion and I would love to know more about why you think free tuition would be a good idea (other than the obvious- no student debt lol)
@speach13 I had mixed feelings about the unicorn. I was unsure at first... It wasn't sour, it was a nondescript berry flavor. Then it started getting more sour. The nondescript berry flavor kind of went away. I can't really describe the new flavor, but it was better than the beginning. Whatever you do, DON'T TASTE THE BLUE GEL ALONE! It is not okay. It is so so so wrong. The blue gel is what turns it sour, but you can't eat it by itself.
