Re: Fit Mama Post-Partum Check-In : 4/17

  • 1: How many weeks postpartum
    ? 5 weeks today!!

2: What are your goals for the week ahead
? To start doing some light exercise. Found a post pregnancy workout on bodybuilding.com that has a pelvic floor/abdominal exercises to do before getting back into a full workout routine. I'd like to do that 3x this week, plus at least 3 days of a 30 min walk outside (weather depending)

3: How was your last week? This past week was good. Continuing to get out most days, and finally starting to feel ready to exercise again (despite being sleep deprived, haha)

4: Any pregnancy modifications you got to STOP?
? I did plank AND supermans today!!

5: How are/have you treated your self this week?
? I've decided to sign up for mum and baby Pilates classes that's run by a physiotherapist nearby. Since it's run by a physio I can claim it back on my health insurance as "rehabilitation sessions". Although the class won't start for another week or two I think.

    6:
Questions, Concerns, Rants, Raves, Randoms? Starting to try to figure out how to workout with a baby. Going to try just bringing him in his car seat to the gym and carrying him around with me (so long as he doesn't start crying). overall I'm slowly starting to feel like myself again, and that's just really nice.

7: GTKY: to those who celebrate: What did you do for Easter? If you don't-feel free to share your weekend anyway  ? Went to brunch with some friends yesterday, then had a movie marathon at home. Watched goonies for the first time. DH was appalled when he found out I hadn't seen it before

  • Morning ladies! Oscar finally decided to nap and now I'm watching the Boston Marathon on TV -- it's Patriot's Day in Massachusetts, so Marathon Monday is a holiday. So inspiring to watch these runners and I'm getting all emotional dreaming of being there next year and taking that final turn onto Boylston with the finish line in sight!! I'm rooting for Desi Linden - she's in the lead right now in the women's elite, she's the American that took 2nd place last year by only 2 seconds!

    1: How many weeks postpartum
    ? 2.5 weeks

2: What are your goals for the week ahead
? To go for as many walks as the weather permits, and to eat better. I am cutting myself off from the baked goods and gooey comfort food that people brought us because my body feels TERRIBLE right now. I need to recoup on some dark greens and better proteins! And get back to my daily smoothies.

3: How was your last week? Pretty good, finally feeling like I can walk a mile and go about my life and feel relatively normal post c-section. Got out for a bunch of walks and fresh air, I was just so glad to be out of the stale hospital air!!

4: Any pregnancy modifications you got to STOP?
? Will be a while for me before I can get back to working out in terms of modifications, but I can put on my shoes now (even ones with shoe laces!) AND shave my legs! AND sleep on my back!

5: How are/have you treated your self this week?
? I haven't left the house on my own for over 3 weeks with the time in the hospital and the fact that 2 weeks post c-section you're not supposed to drive. Today I'm going to Whole Foods -- ALONE! DH is going back to work tomorrow so he is watching Oscar for a bit.

    6:
Questions, Concerns, Rants, Raves, Randoms? Healing from this surgery is no joke. I started to feel a bit better each day, but now that my incision is healing more, every little twist I make, I can feel it pulling, and I feel a lot of nerve pain as my nerves reconnect. I can move around better, but I can't move the way I want, and picking up Oscar or moving him around sometimes is challenging and its frustrating me. I know its temporary but I just want my 6 week mark to arrive quickly. And I'm hoping I can get right into running.

7: GTKY: to those who celebrate: What did you do for Easter? If you don't-feel free to share your weekend anyway  ? We went to my MIL's house nearby. Every single family member wanted to hold Oscar and I had a near panic attack. Also my SIL is usually really good at making sure her kids (ages 10 and 8) are careful around the baby but yesterday one of them was getting over being sick and kept getting too close. And she wasn't saying anything to them. I was super annoyed. She is going to watch Oscar 2x a week when I go back to work and now I'm all worried that her kids are going to smother him, they literally were less than one foot away from him all day. I get that they are excited but I kept having to tell them to give him space and not to touch his mouth and not to sit so close to his head. It was a beautiful day out and I was trying to remain calm but several aunts had many glasses of wine and wanted to hold him, I ended up changing him in a room with the door closed and crying. DH wasn't being so good about helping me fend people off either. My MIL said, "I can't believe you guys are OK with so many people passing him around, I wouldn't be." I was just at a loss for words because she was the one making sure everyone who wanted to hold him got a turn! DH's cousin's girlfriend was just sitting way too close and kept touching his face. It was super stressful. And due to my blood pressure issue I can't even have a glass of wine and try to relax. UGH. Not the best! Next time I'm not letting him leave my arms.

  • @jenny0228 I'm so excited for you that next year you'll be running the Boston Marathon!! That's such a great goal to have & I know you'll do amazing!! Also glad you're able to get out for the first time on your own today!! I'm sorry you had a stressful weekend with all the family members being too close for comfort - I would've felt exactly the same! Hopefully you or your husband can have a talk with your SIL about boundaries before she starts watching Oscar, I feel like some people with "older" kids are too far removed from the newborn stage (esp as a FTM with all the worries & fears that come with that) to understand that kids need to respect space around a new baby. One of DH's friends & his wife were supposed to visit us Sat morning but Fri night DH told me they would be bringing their 3 kids with them too (ages 4, 6, 10) and I put my foot down saying the only way that's happening is if they stay in another room of our house away from Chase b/c I don't want any kids around him yet (AND I was looking out for their kids too since they shouldn't want them near him with his pink eye!!) ...so none of them ended up coming & I was very relieved.

@npaulie that workout you found sounds great! I'm so happy you're feeling more like yourself & ready to start exercising again - that's awesome!! Especially with how hard your recovery was the first few weeks I'm glad things are continuing to look up!! And I've never seen Goonies either so you're not alone lol :)

    1: How many weeks postpartum
    ? 1.5 weeks

2: What are your goals for the week ahead
? Try to walk about a mile each day, maybe start some easy stretches/yoga moves but still rest as much as I can still so I'm not overdoing it and causing extra bleeding (still going through a couple pads/day).

3: How was your last week? Pretty rough, not gonna lie. Today's been rough so far...I've got Chase falling asleep on my lap and DH just went back to bed (really!?! which one of us was up half the night feeding/changing/burping the baby?? oh that's right, me...hm. must be nice...) I feel myself getting frustrated sometimes because I feel like I'm doing everything on my own still and last night I had another mini meltdown and cried as I tried to get Chase to calm down & feed him. Thursday night we were in the ER for several hours because Chase developed conjunctivitis and I was pretty scared & emotional when we were there. Friday afternoon I took our dog to the dog park while DH watched Chase at home, and walked a mile there. Right as we were about to leave though another dog attacked ours and THAT scare, on top of the one with the baby from the night before, had me pretty shaken up. Our dog is the sweetest thing and has never been attacked/gone after any other dog before, but this other dog first attacked a lab at the park, then it started growling/biting at mine before I could put his leash on him to pull him away. My dog had blood all over his neck from the other dog, and in the moment my protective instinct took over foolishly and I ended up getting into the middle of them, falling and messing up my jeans & getting a bit scraped up - thankfully we're both ok but now I'm scared to go back there & don't think it'll be happening anytime soon.

4: Any pregnancy modifications you got to STOP?
? Exactly what Jenny said in her response to this one haha feels so good to be able to bend over & sleep on my back again!

5: How are/have you treated your self this week?
? Well this afternoon we have our newborn photo shoot with one of our neighbors who does an awesome job and it's only costing $125 for over 100 files. In the hospital there was a Bella Baby photographer who took about 20 photos of Chase the day after he was born but the cheapest option they have is $200 and none of the pictures made me go "oooh yes, this is worth the cost" so idk I'm hoping I don't regret not buying their pictures since I know we'll never get those "first day" picture moments again, but DH and I got enough pictures on our phones to make up for them and I'm hoping the ones from today will turn out even better than the hospital ones.

    6:
Questions, Concerns, Rants, Raves, Randoms? Waiting to hear back from a lactation consultant because I think I've been collecting/storing my little milk stash all totally wrong and will have to toss everything I collected before yesterday. Glad I have an oversupply but the leakage that comes with it is just crazy. LO does eat a lot and Sat. morning when I took him to the pediatrician's for a follow up about the pink eye (our first trip together just the two of us) he had already surpassed his birth weight, so I got to cancel his weight check up appointment originally scheduled for tomorrow, and they don't need to see him back until his 1 month appointment now.

7: GTKY: to those who celebrate: What did you do for Easter? If you don't-feel free to share your weekend anyway  ? We did nothing exciting yesterday, just stayed at home. The day before one of DH's best friends and his wife came over to visit for a bit and then DH, LO, and I went to DH's parents for Easter dinner. My SIL/BIL were supposed to be there too to meet the baby but they didn't end up coming because of too much traffic (which I thought was a pretty BS excuse but at the same time was glad they didn't come because they both smoke and neither one believes in getting shots, so I'm fine pushing back meeting them.) In the future I'd love to take LO to church on Easter but I didn't want to take him on my own yesterday. DH's entire family is anti-church/religion, which is something he and I had to agree to disagree on, but he's fine with me taking our kids to church/teaching them about faith & God once they're old enough to understand. I do wish that he could someday have a change of heart and more of an open mind, but had to accept that it might never happen and be ok with that.

Whew, I wrote a novel! And Chase is still sound asleep on my lap haha :)

  • @npaulie I am so jealous of your brunch instagram picture with the bloody mary... that looked SO good! Also great to hear that you are feeling so good and ready to get back to exercise. The mum/baby classes sound awesome, and double bonus you can claim it on your health insurance.

@serenity13 so glad you had your newborn photoshoot to look forward to today after the scare with Chase in the ER and your dog at the dog park! That's a lot of stress for one week, I can't imagine dealing with all of that. I'm glad that both the human baby and your fur baby are ok in the end. And you as well after getting in the mix between the dogs. I've totally done that before as well with my dog, without thinking and then stepped back and realized how lucky I was to not get hurt. Do post some of your pics of Chase from your shoot if you feel so inclined!! :)
  • @npaulie yay for being able to claim classes from insurance! So awesome!! Can't wait to hear about the class and you and your little guy like it! So Glad overall you're feeling good and ready to be active :)

@jenny0228 gonna live vicariously through hard core as you train for the Boston marathon ! I'd like to do it someday, but I just don't see it in the cards for the next couple years.  How was your Whole Foods outing?? I remember being in the hospital with DD1 for 6days and that was enough to drive me crazy - and what were you? 10? so glad you finally broke free after such a long haul!  FX that six weeks is all you need for your incision to fully heal and start the process of hitting the pavement!

@serenity13 girl! You've had a rough one! Sorry to hear about the pink eye and dog scare!  But glad Chase is doing okay - parenting is hard in these first days when you are sleep derived, hormonal,  and (especially breast feeding) when dad can't help quite as much cuz baby wants mom it's hard not to want to kill the men ;) but promise it gets better!!  Hope you had fun with your photo shoot! I'm sure you won't regret having these pictures-plus and a year from now they'll still be "first moment" enough because he's still so itty-bitty compared to your big kid! ((They grow up way too fast))
  • 1: How many weeks postpartum? 6 1/2wks

2: What are your goals for the week ahead
? Clean eating! No sugar! Healthy snacks! Hydrate! -I've been eating everything and I'm ready to get fully back in the focus on healthy eating!  It's such a challenge when you're needing to eat so many calories with recovery and BF, but I know it's worth it and I'll feel better when I make the commitment.

workout during naptime 3x the end of this week!  --missed out on today because someone came to visit during my workout hour :[ and tomorrow is my doctors appt (finallyyyyy)

3: How was your last week? Lots of highs and lows. It's finally nice out here in Maine so that has spirits high- we've been out for strolls up and down our little back road-but my toddler insists on walking so we don't get much of a workout.  Easter was hard--spent a while digging through my pre-pregnancy clothes to find a nice church outfit that would fit and not make me look yucky! I thought it would be easier to find something... but even the things I thought would work wouldn't zip up, or drew way too much attention to my mom-pooch. It was discouraging! ((I know I need to show myself grace-I had a ten pound baby last month-it's normal)) but it kicked my butt into gear a bit for getting motivated to make working out a priority.

4: Any pregnancy modifications you got to STOP?
?  End of last week I put some music on and just jumped and bounced around like a crazy lady -- so nice to be able to do things like full out jumping jacks, jump squats, high knees, etc and not need to worry about a bouncing baby belly!  ((Well... my belly and love handles were definitely still bouncing ;) ))haha

5: How are/have you treated your self this week?
? Ummm... showered once! Haha. And I ate TWO pieces of cheesecake at Easter dinner knowing I was giving up sweets this week I decided to fully indulge one last day.

    6:
Questions, Concerns, Rants, Raves, Randoms?  I'm tired! This parenting two thing is wearing me ragged-looking forward to when Natalie gets a tiny bit older and we can get into routines with napping and eating, etc. because right now I have no idea what she does... I feel her on demand when she fusses and try and get her to sleep when she'll sleep... otherwise I toss her in her rocker or wrap her quickly on me so I can run to clean up a mess Nora is making or try and diffuse a tantrum... etc.  life is pretty much minute by minute here and I don't like it cuz I'm such an organized planner type!

I'm both relieved and so anxious about my doctors appointment Tomorrow! Ideally I'll get
answers to what's been going on-but I can't get rid of the pessimist in me that says they're gonna run tests and send me to specialists with no answers and just tell me I'm going insane!!

Plus! Today is the first day in 6wks I felt mostly okay. Normally it's been all day vertigo with half an hour here and there with it randomly stopping. Today I only had two half an hour periods with the vertigo the rest was normal--- I'm glad to have a great day! But it's so weird!! Why would I randomly have a good day?? There's just no method or pattern to the madness. I wonder if now that I'm gonna get medical help it's just gonna go away on its own!?

7: GTKY: to those who celebrate: What did you do for Easter? If you don't-feel free to share your weekend anyway  ?  We went to our church in the morning, all sat for singing and then me and the girls escaped to the nursery for most of the service--then off to my parents for Easter dinner.  It was so gorgeous out! 85° at one point! We stuffed ourselves with food and then played this long strategy board game with my brother called Agricola while my parents entertained DD1 - once we drive home DH and I had some hard ciders to wind down the weekend.
  • Picture day went mostly alright but LO had his fussiest day ever & didn't want to cooperate- I think he's got a lot of gas lately but he also was/is hungry all the time so maybe it's a growth spurt... can't wait to get the photos back!

@kjd291 I can only imagine how exhausted you are with your little ones... Hope you're able to catch some rest! Good luck with your appointment- hope it goes well & you can get some answers about your vertigo without having to wait for test results/another consultation...glad you had a good day though & will continue to pray for you that it goes away for good!

I found this article: https://spr.ly/61818d9Jb & link to a routine I'd like to try after I'm given the all clear to workout!

  • @serenity13 that workout looks awesome! I might steal it, haha. Also so scary about your dog!!! I'd be totally beside myself if something happened to my pupper dog :( hope he's okay.

@jenny0228 that marathon will be such a fun goal to work towards. A friend of mine flew to Boston a couple years ago to run it. He loved it!!

@kjd291 hope your appointment goes well today! Keep us updated!! Also so glad to hear that you had a longer stint without vertigo yesterday!
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @kjd291 good luck today at your appointment! Let us know how it goes. I hope you get some answers and a plan to relieve your vertigo for good! Your Easter sounds so nice, 85 degrees, wow! Glad to hear you got some help with DD1 while you got to relax and hard ciders sound so relaxing to top it all off.

I think my rapid weight loss from my first couple weeks has evened out. So I have 20lbs to lose. I had SO much swelling from the induction that I was losing lbs every day at first, it was awesome, haha. But now that I have my regular ankles back and my rings fit again, now I have to just sit tight and wait to start sweating off the rest. 363 days til Boston 2018!
  • Hi guys! Can I please join your fit mama group now that I'm officially cleared to work out??

@jenny0228 happy patriots day! seeing all of the runners made me wish a ran for about 3 seconds haha (bad knees)

@kjd291 of course we have our appointments the same day. i can't believe you have been momming the littles with your vertigo this whole time. you're such a rock star

    1: How many weeks postpartum? 6 1/2

2: What are your goals for the week ahead
? right now i just need to focus on continuing the long walks with the kiddos. we are about to be inundated with visitors ( :| ) so i won't really be able to do any home work outs

3: How was your last week? it was great. DS started gymnastics which is super cute at his age and the weather was so amazing I got in a lot of exercise just from walks. i figure between the double stroller and the kiddos i push about 80 lbs around. wheels or not that's a lot haha

4: Any pregnancy modifications you got to STOP?
? i love being able to curl up on the couch and bring my knees up to my chest haha

5: How are/have you treated your self this week?
? i got 2 showers in! lol and i made home made creme brûlée that was to die for

    6:
Questions, Concerns, Rants, Raves, Randoms? i have ZERO clothing. i'm still wearing pregnancy tshirts and pants bc i don't fit into my regular clothes but i seriously think I'm down to about 3 pairs of pants and maybe four shirts. the kicker is i have no regular clothes to speak of either. they're all worn out and have been tossed without being replaced. looks like i have good motivation to get back down to my goal weight and go shopping!!

7: GTKY: to those who celebrate: What did you do for Easter? If you don't-feel free to share your weekend anyway  ? we didn't do much for easter, just hid some eggs for DS and did dinner with the neighbors. Yesterday we went to Hopkinton (start of Boston Marathon) and hung out there. So much fun!!

Yay @Gators&BoSox welcome!!   I have the same mindset! Get down to "normal" size and get myself a new mommy wardrobe!  Being pregnant or breast feeding for three years straight now does a number on ones wardrobe!
  • 1: How many weeks postpartum? 7 weeks

2: What are your goals for the week ahead
? Start cutting out all the junk food!  Easter is nuts in our house because of DH's sweet tooth!  He brings home tons of candy and I am home all day staring at it, with an insatiable appetite due to nursing.  Normally I don't even eat candy but I have zero self control when nursing.

3: How was your last week? Good!  Started doing workout DVDs during naptimes.  Getting in a 20 min workout each day. Also had my first Stroller Strides workout.  It wasn't very intense but it was nice to meet the moms and get outside.

4: Any pregnancy modifications you got to STOP?
? I am doing real pushups again!  I forgot how hard they were :) and I lost so much strength...

5: How are/have you treated your self this week?
? I took a couple of naps. I needed it. I am a better person when I get a little extra sleep. Especially after the insane weekend we had.

    6:
Questions, Concerns, Rants, Raves, Randoms? RANT - see below

7: GTKY: to those who celebrate: What did you do for Easter? If you don't-feel free to share your weekend anyway  ? Guys, we attempted a weekend away for the first time as a family of 5. Partly bc we wanted to see whether it was possible for us.  Spoiler alert: IT WASN'T. My in laws have a cabin 3 hours away and we've gone multiple times. Not too far of a drive, low key, etc. The drive alone was exhausting because the kids were bickering.  "She's touching meeeee!" "Keep your feet to yourself!" etc. and arguing about everything.  Oh, and DD3 hates being in the car and cried hysterically the entire way.  We kept stopping to feed her but as soon as we started driving again she was wailing.  Arrived around 9pm, after DD1&2 bedtime, and thought they would go to sleep sharing a full size bed.  Granted this is the first time DD2 has slept in a bed, previous trips she was in the pack n play, but in the same room.  Sleep did not happen.  Crying, screaming, OMW you guys, we were up past 2am and then up for the day at 4am!  That day no one could function.  Kids were at their worst behavior I've even seen. We couldn't even grocery shop for the weekend - temper tantrums all over the place. We went out for lunch and ended up throwing our food away because we had to take them out of the place. That day was a series of walking out of places. I thought for sure they would sleep the second night, but this time it was DD1 having night terrors - where she is not completely awake, cannot be reasoned with, but is in hysterics waking up her sisters and freaking out like a crazy person.  The next morning (Saturday) we decided to call it quits.  Started packing up (we also have to clean the place, wash linens, etc.) but I am very little help because I couldn't put the baby down (imagine washing dishes, sweeping while holding a baby) and the toddlers were wrecking the place as we were cleaning, and unpacking as we were packing.  We started packing at 10:30am, but didn't get out of there until after 7pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am so defeated. 3 kids is no joke guys. I am so sad that we can't do even a simple weekend getaway. We'll try again in another year probably. It just really sucks.  So, Easter was at home and we did nothing.  We were so shell shocked we didn't even make it to church and didn't get to wear our cute dresses. Ugh. No family pictures, no nothing.
  • @gators&bosox @kjd291 YES to getting a new mommy wardrobe. I have zero clothes that fit. I am in sweatpants and maternity tops every single day and I feel like such a slob. I was looking through my clothes the other day, and realizing that I've been pregnant or nursing the past 5 years - all my clothes are SUPER outdated! (Low rise flared jeans??) So if I'm not going to wear them I might as well get rid of them and get some new things so I can feel better about myself and not panic every time I have to be in public.
  • @Cbeanz i am so sorry your weekend getaway was so rough!! so many hugs! it'll get better
  • Ugh @Cbeanz I'm so sorry for such a failed attempt :( you poor thing!!  But I see it as So brave and amazing to attempt in the first place! Don't get yourself in a mindset of it'll never ever work! if your little miss hasn't slept in a real bed away I can see that's hard to adjust to-and DD3 is still so little and demanding of you! I'm sure in just a few months things will be easier and family trips will be happening with ease before you know.  Hugs - hope you al catch up on sleep and sanity this week!

sooooooo. Long anticipated doctors appointment??? Ended with the same friggin advice from my dad 6wks ago ===>There's fluid in your ears, could be causing it. And hormones are crazy now-so take some Flonase and wait things out for another month.

I mean, im glad the lady doesn't think I have some neurological issue or something/but I almost WANT a diagnoses so this rocking feeling will go away!!!! Gahhhh. I don't want to just wait it out. I want to feel better!

  • Another MONTH?!
How about Sudafed or Afrin to help dry out sinus fluid?  I know they can decrease milk supply but you have a good supply so maybe worth a try?

    @kjd291
Yes! , She did say ontop of the flonase I could take some daily Claritin if I wanted to add that to see if it would help at all but warned it *can* cause baby to be drowsy and it can decrease supply--so I'll be getting some cuz it can't hurt to try it as i wait out another month to see if loosing fluid helps.
  • @kjd291 ugh that sucks. I'm sorry you didn't get a more definitive answer. Did they say if there's anything you can do for it?

@Gators&BoSox yes, join us!!!! So glad you're over here. I'm also still wearing my pregnancy clothes. Le sigh.

@cbeanz sorry to hear the trip didn't go as planned. Hopefully it'll just keep getting easier with the three.

I did ny first ab workout yesterday and I'm SO sore today. it feels good :)

  • Pretty much just wait and see if it gets better. It's not "normal" to have ear fluid cause vertigo... but it is normal for ear fluid to take several weeks to drain. So if it really is the cause it could get better with the waiting.  The Flonase and Claritin are just things that *may* help, but your body usually just does it on its own.
If for whatever reason we get to 3-4mo post partum and I still have the vertigo, and they still all think (also will see an ENT at that point) it's just the fluid/then we can talk about draining it somehow - getting tubes, etc.  it just seems so strange to me that fluid that children and adults get with sicknesses year round with no issues (we'll, other than ear infections) would be causing this craziness for me!
  • @shines721 yay!! Welcome!! I'm so excited all the people we have jumping on the exercise train again!!

  • @Gators&BoSox @shines721 welcome!! Excited to be inspired and motivated with all of us getting back to working out!!

@kjd291 how frustrating to not have a clear answer!! I'm sorry to hear this will be ongoing for you. I really hope the Flonase or Claritin can get you some relief. I totally understand how hard it is to not have an answer, or even a plan to fix it. My blood pressure issue is still there, and nobody can tell me how long it will take to resolve or if it will resolve at all. It's really testing my patience, these kinds of things that are so out of our control are so hard to deal with. I hope getting back to working out will help any fluid move on out!

@cbeanz wow what a crazy adventure! I'm so sorry to hear your weekend was so difficult and disappointing for you. But just the fact that you were willing to try a weekend away with a newborn and two other young kids makes me think it won't be long before you can do it again with better luck!! I have a feeling before long you'll be in a rhythm with three and getting back to all the things you enjoy.

And plus one to the wearing of pregnancy clothes. Still rocking my every day black leggings with over the bump waist. Most of my underwear and regular pants hit right at my incision, so I'm not comfortable with any friction right there yet. I ended up buying a few roomy tops and tank tops a size up because I Can. Not. Deal. with this belly bulge and 3 more weeks until I'm even checked to be able to work out. I know I need to just accept it, its shrinking, but I'm getting impatient now. I feel fine but still need to heal. I may try some compression underwear (so hideous) I hear it can help the incision site.
  • @kjd291 I remembered you had your appointment today and had to look through threads to find where you talked about it.  So sorry you didn't get any real answers! How frustrating!  Just waiting another month is a long time...ugh!!!  Here's hoping it does clear itself up!
  • Thank you @IloveAlbert it's been a long two months here.  The anxiety is really starting to kick in now which is making it worse. I'm so anxious and stressed the past few days that I'm getting tingling appendages now too-ugh! The last thing I want is all these anxiety symptoms mixing with the vertigo symptoms or to need to ask for anxiety meds ontop of whatever is going on. Wahhh.
  • Oh no!  Yes, the last thing you need is anxiety too...anxiety is the worst!  I've been dealing with it a lot lately and it's finally getting better.  I can't believe after all that waiting you still didn't get any answers!  Well...I really hope somehow it starts to get better soon...or at least the anxiety goes away...I can't imagine dealing with both!  Sending positive thoughts your way!
  • @kjd291 that is awesome!! So glad you're getting back out there! I can't wait to hit the pavement!

I've managed to get out for a few walks this week. Feels so good to move. Also my blood pressure issue seems to be getting better. I am on a microdose of medication with a goal of totally stopping it by next week. Finally seeing the light of recovery!

  • @kjd291 glad to hear you were able to get out running!!

@jenny0228 happy you're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

had my physio assessment before starting post natal Pilates. I only have slight ab seperation (one finger width). Turns out, though, my right hip is SUPER weak. I was barely able to hold bridge pose with my right leg extended. She suggested I focus on strengthening my glutes and abs before really getting into lifting weights again. Really excited to start the class in two weeks!

  • @kjd291 kind of a personal question but what sports bra are you using? I ran prior to pregnancy - nothing huge only like 24 miles/week - but had to stop from being high risk. I'm already on the low side of milk production and don't want running to mess up my milk. I need good support I'm assuming for that to happen? I'm already larger chested and used to double up on bras before. Should I keep doing that or would that hurt my supply?

  • I was doubling up and doing all kinds of chest holding while jumping with DD1! Nursing boobs are no joke!!  I went and got some Victoria secret sports bras--I hate spending any money, but it was worth it. ((I don't think it really matters the brand but these work for me)) more structured and super tight hold on the "girls" so I have barely any bouncing!

But//I don't think running will mess up supply. As long as you're making sure to stay extra hydrated and eat more when you burn more calories! ...I did a a few little quiz/calculator things online and I need like 3,000 calories a day to BF & workout!? Gahhh.
  • @kjd291omg that sounds like a ton of calories! And thank you for the recommendation- I'll have to check those out to see how they feel. Im stalled on weight loss now for some reason and I have 20lbs to go? Idk what's happening. At work I walk between 12-17 miles per shift (work 3 days a week), so between that and running I'm hoping something happens soon because I feel like poop being at this size. It feels like with all this effort this weight should be gone by now.

Sorry to hijack your thread ladies - grateful for your help though!

  • BabyWeight usually works that way! So Don't worry! Lose the chunk after birth and than the most recent stay I've heard you shouldnt expect to loose any more than 4lbs a month. It takes 9mo to put on the weight, so taking several months to let your body gradually transition back is important too-don't be too hard on yourself.
  • @kjd291 so depressing but I'll keep that in mind - thank you!! I work with girls in their early/mid 20s who came back to work in their prepregnancy scrubs. Or the one had twins and was thinner postpartum so I guess I was assuming that was normal haha.
