  • My mom's episode where her heart stopped for apparently no reason still has me off kilter too. I feel you @mrs_fogue. I think it's worse because they didn't figure out WHY, even after follow up testing (stress test, EEG, bloodwork).

  • @jessafishy I know that feeling all to well.  My dad had a mini-stroke the day we buried my grandmother which I was exactly this far along with DD when that all happened.  They finally chalked it up to stress but I spend days worrying that it will happen again.
  • Morning ladies!
@natleilynn i SO feel you. I scheduled every apointment at 8am always on days H dont work so I should be first and we dont spend our day off in the waiting room. Hospital where my obgyn works is 5 mins away from our place and ive witnessed during my little sister s pregnancy 5 hours of wait (shes lazy and wouldnt schedule hers before noon). But somehow each apointment we had to wait TWO hours before being seen!

@beezeemarie loool you killed me. Also cause i would feel the same way about H doing something like that around the house. I do it all. From light bulbs to drilling walls...

@mrs_fogue totally understand you. My parents are not that old (dad 60 and mom 53) but living 6000 kms away from them it gives me anxiety to think that someday in the middle of the night id receive a phone call that would destroy me) that i wouldnt even have the time to get there "on time". Everytime i hear about someone losing one of their parents i cry like they were my own. Basically cause i feel bad, it was my choice to live on another continent.
  • @carries2018 my dad turned 70 last year, I'm right there with you. Coincidentally, my grandfather died at 70 so my dad was convinced he was going to, too. So it's been a fun year. Thankfully the dreaded 70 is almost over and hopefully the curse has been broken.

  • @mrs_fogue that's so heartbreaking. A good friend of mine just lost his dad on Easter and his mom passed almost 4 years ago. We're only 28 and I've already got a friend who has lost both parents... it's tough to wrap my head around. My parents aren't very old, but you're never guaranteed just because of that.

  • I also have had a few friends lose their parents in recent years.  I treasure every single moment I have with mine, especially with my mom being a breast cancer survivor.  That kind of woke me up.

My WTF:  WTF Neighbor. I live in a townhouse and my next door neighbor (great girl, love her) plays her music so loud I can hear the bass over my TV.  I have mentioned this to her before and she says he stereo is against that wall.  I can't exactly escape and go somewhere as I'm supposed to be taking it easy on the couch until the end of the week.  It's almost nap time honey...tone it down over there!!!
  • @JessDG id like to say you're a CHAMP for controlling yourself. My hormones would ve gotten me knocking at her door, pissed :(
  • @yasandson. You bet I will be banging on her door with a screaming infant if it bothers him.  I can keep it together for now...

@JessDG I basically came here with the same WTF! We also live in a townhouse/quadplex our neighbors to our right moved in a few months ago and apparently just hooked up their surround sound this week. They wait until about 10:00 at night to use and I just know they are going to wake up DD. The bass vibrates our walls. We will probably have to end up saying something once this baby is here. Also our neighbors ACROSS the road have a minivan and either they don't know how to use it, or their car alarm is broken. EVERY SINGLE TIME they leave the house or open their van (which is 3-4 times a day, and sometimes late at night) their car alarm goes off. It's sooo annoying!

  • @mrs_fogue That is so sad. :( Losing my Dad changed my entire world. It'll be 6 years next month which is hard to believe. I stand by my claim of THAT is the thing that happened to me that let me know what a broken heart felt like. I only thought I knew pain before then. I found out I really hadn't been through as much bad as I thought rather quickly. It's a new normal and you never get over it, but you do figure out how to move forward.

I do my best to see my Mom as much as possible and we talk every single morning and evening on the phone without fail. She and I may not be super close, but I am so very thankful to have her.

@natleilynn My best friend's husband (who is only 35, mind you....) is like that. No kidding. He goes on and on and on about how he's going to die (of cancer, he's already picked out caused of death) young because most of the men in his family have. Keep in mind his Father is still alive and well, but because Uncles and Grandpa died early, he's on his way out. My best friend gets so aggravated with him, haha.

@beezeemarie I refer to my husband as "Tim Taylor" when he's on a Mr. Fix-It mission. Comparing him to Tim on Home Improvement is about all I can do. It's like PLEASE don't mess with it. It'll be ten times worse once you're done. Hopefully your floors come through ok!

  • My internet isn't working today. I called our provider and did all the troubleshooting but we still need a tech to come which won't be until Sunday. DH seems to think we don't need an appointment. Because it's not like I already called the provider and did all we can do over the phone.

  • @beezeemarie My H would totally do something like that. He's not super handy, but his dad is, and last time his parents came to visit they replaced the upstairs hallway carpet with hardwood. It turned out great. Now we still need to do the two final bedrooms, and he keeps saying he can do it himself but I'd definitely have to bite my lip and try to feign confidence if he goes through with it!

  • @JessDG some people need to be more respectful! ugh!

My WTF is that last night was a 9pm dance night, and tonight is another 9pm dance night! I worked last night until the girls were done. Thankfully tonight I just work until the other girl comes in- about 1-2 hours. So my plan is to grab miso soup and a cooked sushi roll from the local joint in the shopping center and head home and send DH out to pick them up. I need a break! Comp weekend is approaching and I want all the rest I can get so Im not momma bear to folks who look at me the wrong way.

  • @acnd08 I have a Tim the Tool Man too.  Last year we gutted and remodeled our hall bathroom all by ourselves.  The day he hooked the sink up, the pipe burst while we were both at work and lets just say I got all new flooring in the house.  Also the shower hook up messed up and he has removed the tile and says he is planning to fix it on his next vacation.  This is now a year and a half after renovations started.  I'm not complaining one bit because it all looks awesome and he's done a great job not having know anything about remodeling a bathroom....but I'm ready to have a functioning hall bath again.
  • Just discovered my cat who never pukes, puked up something purple ( resembling curling ribbon from a leftover balloon) in the playroom. Wtf, cat!

  • @mrs_fogue That would be my DH's experience with it. Only I don't think he would have pulled it together, haha! There would have been professionals involved.

  • WTF @jessafishy my belly button is all weird today and I can't help but blame you for some reason...

also WTF, my boss took it upon himself to let everyone in our DIVISION (division > region) know I was pregnant. So at a dinner last night for a regional training - someone at the other end of the table said something about "oh yeah the pregnant girl..." I think if I would have told people myself I would have gotten more respect rather than be the object of conversation.
i am the only woman at this training, the only woman in our region and one of two women in our division. I didn't hear about this until this morning and I am still livid.
