Re: Monday B!tchfest 4/17

  • I've been so fucking busy at work I hardly even got the chance to bump last week and now that it's a slower week and I can jump back in I'm too busy freaking the fuck out bc **TW** I had some light spotting this morning and even though I know a million benign reasons why that can happen I'm trying to hold my shit together until 2:45 when I go in for a check up.

  • @Tourmalily I'm so sorry you're going through that, I'd be freaking out too. Feel free to vent as much as you want. My dr did say it's totally normally to spot here and there but I get where you're coming from. Hugs and let us know how it goes <3

@Tourmalily hope the day goes quickly for you and that everything checks out fine.

  • I'm pretty consistently looking pregnant now, despite the bloat getting better in the mornings, and I hate it. I am not ready for the attention it's going to bring. I don't normally care that I'm short, but right now it sucks.

Also, my husband applied for that job super far away from here and now we're just waiting. New job limbo always sucks, but not knowing if we'll be selling our house or if we should go ahead with some of the projects we had planned or not is so frustrating. Some of the projects are for personal interests, and not likely to increase our ease of selling (like a very expanded vegetable garden). I've so been looking forward to my new garden but we're not going to put the money into it if it might just make it harder to sell. I know this is our fault and he didn't have to apply for the job. I'm just impatient.

  • @Tourmalily hoping it's nothing and that the morning goes by quickly for you!

@Furmommy I haaaate those questions!  No good comes out of asking someone when they're going to have kids/more kids.   Those questions were painful when we were trying for our first.  PSA people:  if someone doesn't volunteer the info, don't ask.   You never know what they may be going through!

  • @Tourmalily  I hope your day flies by.  I spotted my entire pregnancy with DS.  I had a "sensitive cervix".  Perhaps you just over did it this weekend.

My in-laws called yesterday morning to see if they could stop by and drop off an Easter gift for Henry.  My husband said we would be home all day.  They show up at 7pm (which is bedtime) drunk as skunks.  They were talking so loud (although it probably seemed like a normal volume to them) and trying to play with a cranky toddler who clearly wanted to go to bed.  I have never been so angry in my life.
  • @Tourmalily keeping my fingers crossed for a good appointment. I know how scary that can be!

@ArtificialRed  I would get annoyed with anything that came between me and my garden. My blump is already making it hard for me to pull weeds or trim peppers though. I think DH might have to take over a bit in the heat of the summer.

@av2323 my dad and his gf do that! They don't understand that kids don't want to play past bedtime sometimes, especially with loud grown ups that smell like booze. I remember him coming in to wake me up even at 7-8yo when he'd been drinking and not get why I was crabby with him.

My bitchfest is DH. He's rarely home in the morning and I always get annoyed with him interrupting our routine. Today he has a meeting at 1pm and he's rushing me around the house like he needs to leave in 20 minutes not 2 hours.

  • @av2323 That would make me crazy. My in-laws don't drink but they still act like that sometimes. I feel like we need a whole thread dedicated to in-laws because I'm sure there are plenty of stories to be told.

Mine is in regards to my DH as well. He's gotten up with our little during the night probably a total of 8 times in her life. He flipped a lid when I told him that was gonna have to change before November, because she still wakes up every now and then and needs to get used to seeing him instead of me.
  • Easter yesterday was a shit show. MIL was BSC as per usual, my BILS/SILS didn't even say congrats to us seeing as FIL spilled the beans AND to top it off the ham and lamb made me vomit. Why can't people just be happy for us and why can't I just eat all the things like I usually can. End rant.

  • @av2323 @QTAMum3 I'm sorry your families messed your Easter up. I don't even try to make plans with my family anymore for that reason. We just go with DH's family plans since they are consistent, always follow through, and everyone pulls their fair share.
@Tourmalily Sending good vibes your way!
@ooodalollly I hope he comes back down to earth. DH gets up super early and thinks he's not going to get up with the baby. We will see about that!

  • @QTAMum3 ugh I'm with you on the food. My MIL made an Italian feast and kept urging us to eat more. To be fair, we haven't told them we're pregnant yet.

But seriously, why are bagels the only thing I can eat and feel ok?
  • Today I am really annoyed with my students.  Right now I have more that are failing than passing.  And plenty more getting a low grade. Because they do not do their work. That I give them time for every day. The work they have been doing daily since way before I started (I took over mid year, which is a very difficult task).  I remind them at least once a week that I am here to help them before and after school and I hold two working lunches each week.  But they do not do their work. So they are failing.  I have chunked the assignment for this quarter.  I remind them nearly daily that this is the biggest part of their grade. I modeled.  I put up posters, I gave them handouts.  I accept paper and digital work.  I give suggestions.  So now in addition to the many hours I spend grading (and because I chunked it, to make things more manageable for students, I have plenty more grading), and planning, I now have to spend many hours contacting parents.  I am happy to meet my students half way, but I am sick of putting so much more effort into their work than they do.  I work so many hours already.  And my husband isn't picking up slack around the house and is being lazy, ugh.
  • @Tourmalily thinking if you and hoping all is well.

  • My bitchfest is at myself - why oh why did I pack away my maternity clothes in our storage unit? I need some stretchy-waisted pants in my life and now I have to wait for DH to get time to dig them out from under all the other heavy boxes. Huge fail on my part.

  • SO happy to hear that!!! Not the infection part, that's a bummer. Glad itty bitty is perfectly fine and hope your infection goes away soon!

  • @Tourmalily Glad baby is ok! Thanks for the update.

@Furmommy I also hate those questions. Unless it's a bff, don't ask someone if they are pregnant! Most people who do so aren't "close enough" to be able to do it. My bil who I don't have a great relationship with asked if I was pregnant when I had found out three days prior, so I had to lie. I was so mad that he asked me in the first place.

my vent - I had to go get out headlights fixed  again today. I called and said I'd come around 11 and they said anytime should be fine, he had a big staff today. Because we just got back from vacation I didn't want to rush my son and we got there around 12. I knew it was lunch time, so I asked if it would take about an hour like the last time, and he said yes. I told him I'd just take my toddler next door and have subway for lunch and let him play in the grass, and then come back in an hour. I called about an hour later and they HAD NOT started working on t yet!!!!!!  He said the guys were going for lunch and just got back. I told him, you knew that I have a toddler with and that o was going next door for lunch, now I have waited and entertained my toddler for an hour and now I have to do it for another hour? He apologized and said he could put on a kids movie for us, so after about fifteen minutes I went over and we watched part of toy story. I called my husband and the horomomes made me cry about it, lol. I was so mad. Normally my son doesn't get screen time, and doesn't even have the attention span for it, but I made him sit with me and he watched it. Ugh.
  • Glad everything is okay, @Tourmalily!!

@Teachermama7 Didn't you just want to be like he's your to entertain until you're done. I have patience problem that hasn't much improved with kids and sometimes that dead time in an awkward place is hard.

  • @TallMomma29 This group is so tame and nice. I hate when people seem to think others can't read.
@TeacherMama7 I hope your day got better!
@kyethra I'm in the same boat, except I've been with them all year and had the finger pointed at me by my principal when they did poorly in the first marking period. She told me to let them (fourth graders) choose what should be graded and not to give any homework. But everything has to be connected to a purpose in the real world. Well can anyone tell me if their real world boss lets them pick and choose what they want to do at work? Can I pick and choose what chores I do at home or what bills I want to pay? Give me a break.

  • @kyethra, I feel your pain! Right now, you are sowing deep, deep seeds, and you may not see the resulting fruit, but please know that the kids will learn from this, even if it is many years down the line. Keep chunking, keep modeling, and keep breathing. I believe in you!

@Tourmalily so glad everything is okay with the baby!! Bladder infections are annoying, so I'm glad you got some meds and I'll add to drink lots of fluids!

@TallMomma29 Ummm what?? This has been the best BMB that I've been a part of!!! All the women are supportive, helpful, and we're pretty funny!! Maybe she needs a BMB with a little more drama!!  :D
  • My mom never had morning sickness, so she thinks I'm faking it.

  • @cmessamore Don't worry, October has our backs. She didn't exactly get a warm welcome with that intro.  :D

  • @NYTino24 that's awesome! Maybe she'd be better off at WTE!! Lol
  • @TallMomma29 Wow, I didn't know she said that. Not very nice! By the way, my last bmb had a lot of problems with screenshotting things from the bump or fb and then sharing it with others. It got nasty. I know you didn't mean any harm by sharing, but I don't think m we want to start our group off this way. I agree with the ladies above, I don't know what she's talking about because you all are awesome!
