I'm only 9 weeks tomorrow and I bought some maternity clothes I'd promised myself I wouldn't until we moved but there was a dress at Motherhood Maternity in my size that would be great for two weddings I'm going to this summer, so I just bought it! And then to get free shipping I bought another dress and two t shirts. It feels so early for that! I will need a maternity dress at 22 and 26 weeks right?
@DuchessOfCambridge Buy all the things! Most maternity clothes can be worn all the time regardless if you're pregnant or not (aside from full panel bottoms and one piece bathing suits). You said you want a bunch of kids, so you'll get use out of them!
My FFFC is that I wish we had more gifs and people other than regs replying to each other. Some people post about themselves and ghost. Let's get the interactions going, newbies!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@DuchessOfCambridge You might not actually need a maternity dress at 22 or 26 weeks. With my first, I barely had a bump at all around then. But, whatever, new clothes are always good, IMO.
@kissthesky32 good to know! I've been hoping most of my work dresses will fit me through the summer. Since I'm petite I feel like it could go either way, barely there bump for a long time or bump right away. I have another wedding in September so I guess it could be used then?
Here's my confession. I recognize that this is petty, none of my business, and hormone-driven.
I have a friend who is 14 weeks and having a cerclage done today. She is a very, very dramatic person. She has been calling it her "surgery" for weeks now and everything in me wants to scream, "It's NOT surgery!!!" It's sutures. Stitches. Barely a procedure. It's not surgery.
@MississippiCatfish But it's a surgical procedure? Maybe it's "minor" and does as an outpatient but I think you can relax on this one and just give her support.
@DuchessOfCambridge I say go for it on the maternity clothes! I've totally already stocked up... I know it's early, but we're 2+ hours away from the nearest store with a maternity section, so I ordered stuff from Old Navy/Gap's spring sale and cheapie stuff off Zulily because I wanted to already have it when I need it. You're gonna need them eventually!

Forgot to get a babysitter for today, and don't feel the least bit guilty for having to call out because of it. DH told me try and find one last night but I lied and said I tried and no one could when I really did nothing. I could really use the extra day to get the house clean.
@ElizabethSchuyler@DuchessOfCambridge It's not that I'm particularly into man buns (although DH rocks a very long french braid), it just drives me nuts when the hive mind decides to hate on someone's hair style/fashion choices etc. It's just a hairstyle. It's not like we don't have plenty of real issues to get fired up about.
That said, I work with middle and high school students, so I may be a little sensitive to people being judgey about other people's lifestyle/fashion/music etc choices.

@lahansen I would never say anything to someone if I didn't like something about their clothes/music/etc because I don't agree with being rude to people like that, but I'm still allowed to have opinions and one of my opinions is that I really don't like man buns! Or facial hair. I'm a clean cut kind of gal. DH gets a haircut every 6 weeks or so (which he wants to do, it was not something I ever forced on him) and he shaves (also his own decision) and those things make me very happy.
@DuchessOfCambridge Absoutely, everyone is entitled to their opinions, I guess I'm trying to get at this issue when an opinion "goes viral" and all of a sudden it's cool to hate on some paricular thing (hipsters, fedoras, man buns, vegans). Maybe I just spend too much time with teenagers...

You can personally not prefer a style and still not be rude to someone's face about it. For me, the man bun is a no. I do like facial hair (DH has a goatee and I love it) but NO NECK BEARDS.

@lahansen that's fair, but I'm all about forming my own opinions. Sometimes they do line up with what is a "popular" opinion at the time and sometimes they don't. Like, jumpsuits are super trendy and I still HATE them.
@lahansen I completely understand that and absolutely agree, but men need to step off my messy bun hairstyle. CAN'T WE HAVE A HAIRSTYLE WITHOUT THEM TRYING TO MAKE IT THEIR OWN. IT'S OURS.

@ElizabethSchuyler I wonder if men said that when women started wearing pants! Haha

My favorite part about this group is that we can disagree and get right back to being supportive friends. I never did like when someone was flamed so hard it was just awkward after that...though some people definitely deserve to be flamed.
Another confession: I have to try hard not to be snarky when a new thread pops up that I don't think is necessary. A lot of things can be short convos in Weekly Randoms. Weekly Randoms thread too old? Start a new one of those instead of your one-time use board! I just like organization, sue me.
This discussion is great. I need a distraction before my appt this morning as I am much more anxious than I thought I would be. I have no opinion on man buns. Do what makes you happy I guess. As far as @NYTino24 comment about wanting more people to post Im trying. I am usually more of a lurker but Im slowly posting. Anyway thanks for the distraction ladies
Re: facial / long hair... DH is former military and current paid FF. He couldn't have his hair long nor have facial hair in the past and he liked it that way. Now, it isn't prohibited, but it is hard to get a good seal on the mask with facial hair. I am very happy since I personally have very sensitive skin and find most facial hair to be physically irritating. I like it on some men, just not someone I'm with. He does sometimes let his facial hair grow out in between shifts, but it's sparse (especially for an Italian) and he gets his hair cut every two weeks! Meanwhile, I get a 5 o'clock shadow on my leg hair. Haha

@duchessofcambridge threads with a lot of comments don't always completely load for me. Those glitch more than others. I figured because there was more info to load?
I kind of like having more threads...as long as they're not about something that obviously belongs in another thread, like symptoms stuff. Some of the threads get convoluted with several conversations going at a time and to me it feels more organized to have multiple threads that stick to certain things. That said, seeing how most people feel differently, I apologize if I have started unnecessary threads and I'll go with the opinion of the group!

@angk77 I don't normally get to post much during the day, unless I'm going over data for the month or have time off work, but I have spring break now. We can't use the wifi on our phones and I teach, so most of my bumping is before or after school. Good luck today! Update for us in the weekly appointments thread.

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I like more individual threads also, @emucoleman . Things get lost to me in the huge ones and it's hard for me to follow with the app sometimes.
@mariposa_767s The picture threads (HDBD and ultrasounds mostly) just crash over and over for me, so I feel you. I have to wait until I'm on my cuter to check those out.

I hate big chunky headbands with flowers and bows on baby girls. I don't mind the smaller band ones with a tiny bow/flower as much but if it's at least 1/3 the size of the kids head it looks so silly to me.
