This thread is for women who are pregnant after a loss and who have a history of loss.

This thread is one huge trigger warning so if you just came to read, please protect yourself if you are not comfortable reading about loss.  This is a place where women can talk freely about their loss history.

*****PLEASE DO NOT post losses here. Start a new thread.*****

Hey PGAL ladies, "Today you are pregnant!"  3

1. How far along are you today?  How are you feeling?

2. Share any part of your loss history you feel comfortable sharing.  What are your loss milestones?

3. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes?

4. How is your SO handling everything?

    2. Share any part of your loss history you feel comfortable sharing.  What are your loss milestones? MC in October at 6.5 weeks.  So I'm past my loss milestone but still really anxious

    3. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes? feeling ok today, I seem to be super nauseous for a few days then get a day or 2 that's not so bad.  Here's to going today is my not so bad day!

    4. How is your SO handling everything? really well.  He doesn't seem anxious at all since we had our first appointment and got to see the baby.  He's amazing at helping take care of things around the house and makes sure in eating even when all I want to do is throw up..

    5. GTKY: How do you manage your PGAL anxiety?
it's been a rough last few days so I've just been trying to keep myself occupied with work and other things I need to take care of

@NYTino24 I agree, it's been hard seeing all the losses on this board

@MKMandeville I hope everything works out with your husbands job.  That has to be very stressful sending positive thoughts your way!
  • 1. How far along are you today?  How are you feeling?
6 weeks. My appetite is gone and I think it's a result of my new iron supplements. My boobs are sore and I'm easily annoyed.

    2. Share any part of your loss history you feel comfortable sharing.  What are your loss milestones?
Today is my loss milestone. I suffered a 6 wk loss in Nov. 2015.

    3. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes?
I'm okay today. I received my hcg lab results yesterday from my only two lab draws. The hcg numbers doubled in less than 48 hours, so I feel good about that. Last time my numbers stopped going up at 243, but as of Saturday my numbers were over 4500. I know the actual numbers mean nothing in regards to health of the baby, but this pregnancy feels better than last time.  My anxiety is still bothering me though because I want to see a baby on an ultrasound. My last ultrasound was a terrible experience. My doctor mentioned a dating ultrasound soon, but it hasn't been scheduled yet.

    4. How is your SO handling everything?
He is awesome! He knows I'm anxious and annoyed about everything, but he helps me stay as calm as possible.

    5. GTKY: How do you manage your PGAL anxiety?
I talk to my husband and closest cousin about it. They are extremely helpful and supportive.
  • 1. How far along are you today?  How are you feeling?
6weeks 2days haven't been to my first appt yet so the date may change. I'm feeling ok. I keep getting super dizzy and nauseous but otherwise pretty good.

    2. Share any part of your loss history you feel comfortable sharing.  What are your loss milestones? I had an ectopic in October after a doctor did a test that should not have been done at the end of my cycle. I had to have the MTX shot so we weren't allowed to TTC until a month or so ago.

    3. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes? I'm feeling okay, I think it's really hard for me to accept that I'm pregnant and my appointment cannot come fast enough. I just want to make sure everything is where it should be and then I'll be able to enjoy it.

    4. How is your SO handling everything? He's super go with the flow type of guy.

    5. GTKY: How do you manage your PGAL anxiety? I think because of the medication it made me extra emotional and I was really angry with my doctor. Now, I feel sad sometimes but I know nothing can change the past and just have to move forward.

  • @NYTino24 It sounds like he will have a meeting with HR on Thursday. He has been wanting a new job for a year but never felt it was the right time now he wishes he would have so he wouldn't have the negative on his record.

@kissthesky32 Thank you! The nausea mixed with anxiety makes the nausea that much worse. I think he will know Thursday during his meeting if not possibly Friday.
  • @Roseallen112 Oh my gosh, that is so sad...that makes me angry too. You have a new doctor, right?

@ktcakes87 Spotting can be scary...don't forget it can be normal...FX that all is well!

  • @rms924 Thank you! He has been applying for jobs all weekend just in case and he has found several that actually excited him so we will see.
  • Cort1021  We are due date twins! Glad your U/S went so well. Sorry you had a really tough year in 2016, FX this year brings a lot of joy and celebration!
  • 1. How far along are you today?  How are you feeling?
Today I am 6w1d and I still don't have any symptoms except major mood swings. So emotionally, I'm a mess. Completely up and down. It's so frustrating to me.
    2. Share any part of your loss history you feel comfortable sharing.  What are your loss milestones?
    I had a MC in 2012 at 7 weeks.
    3. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes?
I had a rough day at work and I have already been pretty anxious, so all of that compounded and just made it really hard for me to hide frustrations I was having. I came home from work excited to spend time with DD and DH, but DH and I weren't really on the same page and I ended up taking DD out to get some food and just drove around for a bit to have some silence and time to myself. I called my OB and requested an earlier US because she wasn't going to have me come in until 10 weeks. She has been my OB through the loss and the healthy birth of DD, so she knows me well and is very used to my anxieties. She bumped up my first US to next week, which I am so pleased about. I will feel better after I know everything is progressing okay.
    4. How is your SO handling everything?
He seems okay, but he doesn't talk about feelings much. I'm wondering if some of his grouchiness today had anything to do with all of this.
    5. GTKY: How do you manage your PGAL anxiety?
i am just very open and honest with my OB and ask for check-ups when I need them. I also have already told my mother and sister about this pregnancy and they are really a great support system for helping ease my worries and reminding me to accept the things I cannot control.
  •  How far along are you today?  How are you feeling? 6w4d - Feeling ok. Just really dang tired. Sore boobs that come and go, and plenty of burping and farting. That's about it. I wish I felt more symptoms though..

    2. Share any part of your loss history you feel comfortable sharing.  What are your loss milestones?
Had a MC in Sept 16.  This Saturday will be when I pass that loss date...

    3. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes? It's been kind of a struggle to take care of things around the house, with work, and with grad school. I'm just so tired all the time and wake up in the middle of the night a bunch. I try to push through without a nap (cuz then it's just harder to sleep at night), but dang I'm dragging. Doc said no caffeine at all, so I've resorted to stuffing my face with high sugar fruit to get through my afternoon slump.

    4. How is your SO handling everything? He's great - he really tries to do more around the house when I'm so wiped out. And he's pretty good about cooking, which I hate to do.

    5. GTKY: How do you manage your PGAL anxiety?

Very poorly, I think.  Sometimes I fall down a thought-hole of negativity.. and it's hard to get back out. I try to focus on reading something not pregnancy related to distract me or talking to H sometimes helps.
  • No caffeine at all, @hezzer78? I would be seriously dragging too!

  • @NYTino24 I was in the same position as you are last week. I was so nervous! The day before was my grocery shopping day, and when I got home from shopping I realized I had bought quite a few comfort items, like chocolate and bubble bath. Hope everything goes well today!

    1. How far along are you today?  How are you feeling?
9w4d. I've been monstrously hungry lately. It's embarrassing how much I eat.

    2. Share any part of your loss history you feel comfortable sharing.  What are your loss milestones?
    Miscarried at 8w4d in January.

    3. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes?
Pretty good. Still very encouraged by the good ultrasound and heartbeat I saw last week. :-)

    4. How is your SO handling everything?
He said he is going to start telling his students baby's fruit size every week. I think that's sweet.

    5. GTKY: How do you manage your PGAL anxiety?
I try to acknowledge my pregnancy more often, just around the house. By putting my hand on my belly or talking about eating for two or telling my 1 year old about the baby. It helps to train my brain to think more positively. I have experienced devastating results of training my brain to guard my emotions from hurt in the past, and I really want to avoid that with my little one.

  • 1. How far along are you today?  How are you feeling? 8 +1. Feeling pretty well. Digestive stuff eased up some yesterday and today.

    2. Share any part of your loss history you feel comfortable sharing.  What are your loss milestones? c/p in April 2016 and missed mc at 6w5 days in September 2016 (discovered at the 8w u/s)

    3. How are you feeling today?  Struggles?  Successes? I'm feelings no pretty good today. I had a great appointment yesterday and we saw/heard the hb. So that puts us past both loss milestones now. I will feel amazing once we are out of first tri, but feeling so much more positive now. I had to take the glucose test yesterday because I had GD with my son. Embracing starting the GD diet regardless of the outcome to be as healthy as possible this PG. We will do the genetic blood testing and find out the sex in a few weeks and we will tell DD and DS when that comes back. So, looking forward to that.

    4. How is your SO handling everything?
He is doing well. He seemed happy and relieved after our appointment yesterday.

    5. GTKY: How do you manage your PGAL anxiety? If I can, I take a nap and usually feel better when I wake up.
