DH and I participate in a BBQ competition every year and today is our competition day. It is a big fundraiser for a local cancer charity. I pulled the pregnancy card and did not sleep in a tent at the competition site last night but I'll be out all day helping to prepare and serve food. Tomorrow will be spent doing some housework and relaxing.
I'm grumpy today. My kids are watching a movie and then they'll have nap/quiet time. Tomorrow is supposed to be nicer and we'll go on an adventure then, but today I'm irritated by everything so I'm just phoning it in. Me:
A bunch of the school systems in my area are having pta fundraiser resales today so my sister and I are going. Hoping to get some good deals!! Here's some pics of the one
Today my dd and I are going strawberry picking with my sister in law and nephew. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous today and tomorrow. The rest of the weekend will be spent outside gardening and just relaxing.
We are driving about two hours to meet up with my best friend from college. She let us borrow her high chair, floor gym, swing, and bounce-a-roo for DS, but is also pregnant and due on September, so we are returning them to her. Excited to see her and for her pregnancy but, disappointed to have to replace these items for DD.
Working both days but the hospital is very quiet due to a big messy rain/sleet storm that should switch over to snow this afternoon. Only have to be here til noon so looking forward to an afternoon nap!
@Xath I think that gif has been me at work every day this week...
Pretty quiet weekend over here. We have a house warming to attend this afternoon, and Sunday we plan to do more baby prep (I'm still trying to figure out what to do with all the stuff that was in the guest room/now nursery). @Rae1 I tried to click like on your screen shot. I need to stop w Facebook clearly.
Have a baby shower for extended family. I'm sort of looking forward to the shower, not looking forward to SMIL. But it's the first shower of anything that I've ever gone to, so that's cool. Tomorrow I actually have work for the first time in forever. DH is playing Zelda all weekend so I'm pretty happy for something to do out of the house.

I'm jealous of everyone's plans, especially those who have nice weather!! This weekend is full of errands, and rain. I guess one plus is that DH told me he'd clean the bathroom for me this weekend. Bless his soul.
I'm getting my new tabs for my car and starting to clean my walls for the move out inspection, where they will take my whole paycheck, so that'll be fun. About the new tabs, I about pooped my pants last week when I tried to do it online..and saw a $333 tax fee. I'm active duty so apparently I don't have to pay it, but if you're a resident here they would mean you pay almost $400 for new tabs every year?!
I'm on a mission for black dress pants for a hearing next week. I have a hard enough time finding black pants not pregnant, so I'm not optimistic. Every pair I found last pregnancy had serious issues with my underwear line showing. Ugh. On the plus side, today feels like Sunday since I took a half day yesterday. Hooray for a bonus day!
@irishrose54 I have no idea what to do with the crap from our guest room. I'll miss the bed most of all. It's my escape when my husband snores!
@irishrose54 Yep, we got the switch last Wednesday or so and finally got Zelda on Monday. I haven't seen much of my husband since then.

Will be emptying out the closets, going to good will, shredding papers, going to get signed up for a store model furniture piece, meet my in laws since my MiL is back, grab my things from her (sister sent me lots of presents yay) and then go out to eat tonight. Meeting up with two younger cousins and taking them for power rangers. Today is booked.
Went to a concert at the casino last night...concert was awesome but I was so sad being at my favorite place on earth and not being able to partake in any of my favorite activities. I couldn't even gamble because of the smoking at the tables. Wah wah woe is me.
We got home at midnight which is so late for us and I literally feel hungover this morning.
we were going to start cleaning out a spare bedroom to eventually move DD into out of the nursery but I have no motivation.

Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
@Rae1 We went to one of the PTA sales this morning! I didn't even know about them until today lol. Did you find anything good? We got some extra bases for our car seat - I was pretty happy with that.

I went to an 'baby artisan fair' yesterday and picked up a locally made bamboo babywear wrap. I love being able to check items off the daunting 'list'. Today I need to go through my closet and plan out our bedroom reorganization so we can comfortably fit the bassinet. I should also go through my drawers and make room for baby clothes, but I don't know if I'm quite that ambitious today.
My Dad and Stepmom are coming to visit and I need to clean the guest room. I've been sleeping in there to spare DH from the symphonic range of my newly developed snoring.
My DH is finally starting to paint DD's new room (blush and gray). He has a very large, intricate floral mural to cover up on one of the walls so we are hoping the paint and primer we bought will do the trick. I am desperately trying to pass these 2 kidney stones so I do not have to go in for a stent placement.
@SpongeWorthy yep! So much good stuff. A bunch of outfits and dresses. Some sleep sacks. Some bibs. A pair of baby toms. Didn't pay over $1 for any single item except the shoes which I paid $3.
@Xath I feel the same today, thank goodness my 3yo soccer game and practice got cancelled because I wouldn't have been able to handle other parents. All 3 kids are crabby because they have coughs interrupting their sleep and these epic melt downs over everything are killing me. Hopefully DH gets home around 5 to help with bed time then it's a date night in. We are getting queso from Moe's and I am making taco salad and nachos and the plan is to begin bing watching Arrested Development. Tomorrow hopefully we will start reorganizing closets and dressers in prep for transitioning the kids rooms. I finally got through our 12 bins of baby clothes and additional boxes of bedding and blankets. Got it down to 6, now I just need to organize the 3 boxes of girls clothes into sizes. Also hoping to get DH on board with moving around some furniture in our main living space to help with additional toy storage. So ready to move all 3 kids in one room and get my twins into big kid beds because the anxiety of working about it is driving me crazy.
Any mom's out there have 3 kids in one room and/or have any friends who did this and survived. An 3.5 year old and (2) almost 2 years olds in one room, all in big kid beds maybe I have lost my mind, idk.
@munchkinsmama Maybe something like this with the Ikea Kura? We're doing the Kura bunk with our boys when we move. The bunk is low enough that my oldest was comfortable around 3-4 and he's got low muscle tone. For the two year olds, maybe switch it so that they're both on the bottom bunks. Use the 2nd top bunk as a "big kid" play area for your eldest for the toys you don't want the littles to access.
Went to a Just Between Friends consignment sale today! Paid $10 to get in early and got lots of stuff for our baby girl! But I'm SO excited about a pair of old navy full panel jeans in my size with the tags on for $5 and a learning tower for DS!
Whirlwind day. Vet appointment for the youngest dog. Now, we've spent 3 hours looking for a dresser at a Salvation Army and 3 Goodwill stores. Finally found one! Now we're waiting for my dad to bring his truck over so we can take it home. We also found a baby bouncy seat and a bassinet, plus sleepers and a few onesies. It's starting to feel more real...

Everyone is getting such good deals this weekend! Makes me want to go shopping...
I finally reached a goal on my thesis project, so I'm rewarding myself with Beauty and the Beast tonight! We have a baby shower tomorrow after church, and then it will be back to writing.
@Xath that is the bunk we are getting our boys! The way the room is configured we can't fit a second because of baseboard heating and windows so DD who is in 10th percentile for height is getting a hand me down toddler bed. Since we have 2 crib mattresses it's not extra $ for us to use the toddler bed, we were going to keep her in her crib with the side off but felt like the tradition might be better if everyone got "new" beds. We figure by the time new baby is big enough to transition we will give the girls the Kura and graduate the boys to a real bunk. My younger ones can both climb the ladder on the kura already because they are monkey's so I'm interested to see if they all just end up in the top bunk every night.

Have you seen the double-stacked Kuras? I'm tempted to try it when the boys are older because our ceilings are super high. I think my regular loft in college was about that tall.
DH and I went to BBB last night to add to our registry. DH was very overwhelmed but he was too cute and picked out some 'daddy only' items. I❤him.
Today I helped my mom get food ready for my sister's surprise party tomorrow then ran some errands. Just housework and chill tonight. Tomorrow we'll be gone most of the day for my sister's party, but I am so excited for the party and getting to see most of my family. Plus the weather is finally turning and we'll have sun and 60's this week

That's the bed we want to get DD for her new bedroom!! If any of you have this, let me know if your kids love it. DD is 3 and we were thinking we could turn the bottom into a reading cave since she loves to read so much.

DS said we can't have a third kid or we'd have to move. I can't wait to show him this, hahaaaa!
Pretty quite over here. I got caught up with laundry and housework yesterday. Today I decided it wasn't what I wanted so I re-cleaned the floors, bathrooms, and kitchen. I moved furniture around in the living room, and I bought baby detergent and started washing baby clothes.
@nktrodden826 I'm out of the loop... what does a kid do on a learning tower? I could see it as a either jungle gym or a little craft table and I'm curious.
@PurplePoppy424. We have the Kura right now for DS1 in the loft/playspace configuration and he loves it. When we move we'll put DS2 on the bottom 'bunk.' They're both really excited.
It's a great bed. The one consideration is that you have to use a pretty thin (3-4") mattress on the top to keep the safety rim viable but DS doesn't seem to mind.

They are amazing! He's been in it constantly! Basically a stool/kitchen helper for kids designed so they won't fall- although I'm sure my kid will find a way to.
