I'm stuck at 1cm and 50% effaced and I've been on the pit for hours. It's at 16 right now and can only go to 20. Very mild contractions. Almost 48hrs since they started meds. This is really frustrating but I am doing my best to hang in there.
All I wanted for years was to have a baby in my belly and now he won't come out!!! Ha!!
Sorry that it's already been a long process @jenny0228 - clearly they are trying to kick him out before he's good and ready! Don't be afraid to tell them you are ready for a break and a night of sleep ((with some sleep aids!)) and to start fresh in the morning with more energy and positive attitude. Thinking of you
@jenny0228 - kjd291 makes a great point. I had a friend that maxed out pit twice and went home twice bc her guy wasn't ready. Labors gonna be tough make sure you're taking care of you and resting if/when you can.
Thanks @kjd291@vino831 - great advice!! this is getting exhausting. I had some strong contractions for 2hrs now they stopped again. Not at max yet but it sounds like if this doesn't work they want to break my water next. I am going to ask them if it's necessary to do it tonight or not if pit fails. I so appreciate the thoughts and encouragement !!!!
@jenny0228 breaking water (although there are risks which I'm sure they'll go over with you) usually is the thing that gets things rolling! But I'd definitely recommend a night of sleep-unless you're feeling super excited/on board about just getting things going with the water breaking option. My induction as a FTM was 3days until they broke water and then only 5hours! But similar//all day unsuccessful pit and water broken at 9ish for a 2am baby and clean up and cuddles and such made for no night of sleep! So my vote if I could do it again would be sleep and have a baby tomorrow - cuz I totally get a vote, right ;p hahah.
Thanks @kjd291 it really helps to hear your story! Definitely very similar to what I'm experiencing! I'm going to see if they will wait. That sounds like a good plan because I want to be alert for baby cuddles!!!!!!!
@jenny0228 I hope you were able to get a good night of rest & hope they're able to break your water to move things along today for you, I agree that sounds like a good course of action. Praying for you & baby Oscar! Remember that you & he are still the ones in control! Also remember how strong & incredible you are, and how the best things in life are not only worth waiting for but they also usually don't come easy - every bit of pain & struggle is bringing you closer & closer still to him!! I think we could still have little birthday buddies, so I'm hoping today's the day for both of us!!
I officially lost my mucus plug this morning! What I thought may have been it a week ago definitely wasn't (was probably just extra discharge which I've also been having the last few days) but there was no question about it this morning. DH & I had sex again last night since it seemed to help & I again had a night of uncomfortable cramps & some contractions (which could also have been from the sweep) but they stopped in the middle of the night. Nothing going on right now but I'm gonna try the nipple stimulation with my pump and walk a ton today so I'm hopeful at some point this weekend I'll meet my LO!
I've been reading more about the difference between mucus plug & bloody show - mine was pink so now I'm thinking it was actually the bloody show instead...

jenny0228 congratulations mama! He is soo adorable! That expression on his face! Almost like he's got a lot to tell ya about mama!! And I dont think i mentioned before - AWESOME name! Seeimg him now It def fits him well too! Rest and continue to recover well!

omg @jenny0228 your birth story just gave me chills! I'm so glad you're ok after that!! So terrifying - I'm so sorry you had to go through such an experience! :'( But your sweet little guy is here now & it sounds like you're doing much better, I hope you can get a lot of rest now! You deserve a medal or something for sure!❤
