There is soooo much conflicting information out there regarding hair dye and manicures. Some say it's ok as long as the space ventilated very well. Others say it's absolutely OFF LIMITS.
My midwife told me early on that it's all ok (wear gloves, be ventilated, don't do it so much). But today I met with her supervising doctor who just said absolutely not. To stop immediately. And to even stop cleaning with normal cleaning products (like windex and Clorox) regardless of precautions...even when you're not pregnant...
Is she right? Is she a little extreme. I'm not high risk. How do beauty professionals do it while they're pregnant? Are there any hair dressers or nail stylists on here that can elaborate?
Thanks!!!

I hadn't heard of the manicure thing. And when I clean with harsh products I usually have a window open anyway.

As for the cleaning products, my husband buys into all that, so I get out of bathroom cleaning duty for 9 months.
SCORE!

i literally just called to switch offices. my husband and i were just talking about the visit and it was very obvious she was pushing an agenda. she also said "i'm just very anal and ocd about these things." ummmm...if you know me at all, making light of a real mental issue is a HUGE problem with me. not cool, doc.
when she said to wipe my counters with lemon, i just about stopped listening.
i told my good friend about it. she JUST gave birth and her doc that she LOVE is in the same network. so it was an easy decision to call up and request a switch.
I too want to colour my hair but I am confused if I should or not, I will probably partly do it, I think ombrés are perfectly safe as they don't reach your bloodstreams? Read it online somewhere...
I have a 2 at the end of my name because I couldn't log into my bump account from years ago and I didn't have the email address anymore to retrieve the password
