@TravelingCouple Today was my 7th injection, so I'm probably getting worried too soon. At least I hope so... Will you still bump when you're travelling over the next couple months, or are you going to take a break?
@TravelingCouple@vflux33@madspunk@safire3 Thanks, girls, you gave me a little hope again that the REs office might have sg even for holidays. They should know the best that the IG rollercoaster don't take no breaks
@safire3 A second opinion sounds good. Gosh I hate it so much when it feels they don't know what the problem is and try to push it aside with a quick extreme solution. Even if IVF turns out to be an answer, it's good to have some answers before. There with you, hugs girl

How are things going? Fine, but sick of waiting.
Any questions? Nope
GTKY: If money were no object (didn't have to work, etc), how would you spend your days?
@madspunk I'm sorry your not responding. My first ER cycle I stimmed for 12 nights (450 iu Gonal F; 75 iu menupur) and didn't have anything measureable until after 7 nts of stims. I ended up with 3 eggs retrieved. My 2nd cycle (same protocol) I only stimmed for 8 nights because I had one big stupid follicle that grew fast and made my estrogen levels too high. I ended up with 2 eggs retrieved.
I hope the increased meds helps.

@safire3 Has your urologist looked into or talked about possible retrograde ejaculation? It is when the sperm doesn't come out and instead it goes into the bladder. It's not the case for my H, but I had often wondered about it. He has type I diabetes and it is common in diabetes. Also, my H had normal hormone levels and my urologist still put him on clomid because the numbers were more of a low normal. His hormone levels have gone up so hopefully has his sperm count. If your H does have something like retrograde ejaculation, it's fixed easily with alka seltzer... can you believe that?!

Tw- pregnancy mentioned-- I sound like a broken record but I already feel out. I'm concerned that my temp consistently stays low for several days after ovulation. I know there's a such thing as a slow rise, but when I look back at my two pregnant charts, my temp shot right up significantly. I'm actually glad to be done temping for a few months and maybe I'll retire it for good. It stresses me out and I definitely know how to read my other fertile signs by now.
I got a +OPK Saturday, ovulation indicated on Sunday. My blood draw on Tuesday was 2.9 progesterone - they said anything over 3 indicates ovulation, so I'm just wondering if my temps are not as reliable as I wish. I'm getting another Progesterone draw Tuesday so I'm curious what that'll be.
@TravelingCouple I am so happy I ditched temping. It was stressful. Like you said, I can rely on the other symptoms of by body and it keeps the SS at bay.

@madspunk Sorry about your follies. I'm still learning about that part of the process, but hoping it is just too early as you said.
Beaming good luck to @antoto@hartmich@LadyMillil and everyone else prepping for IVF and hoping all the stress is over for you guys soon.
@TravelingCouple I don't get any kind of temp rise until like 3 days after Peak so I think my body responds really slowly to progesterone too. But I've never been KU and also haven't been temping as long as I've been charting CM so who knows. Hopefully it's just a fluke for you.
@JuneRoseRuby I hate temping so much and avoided it for months (back when I thought I'd be one of those people who gets KU with little effort--ha!) but finally broke down and started because I feel like I'm starving for data and I get long cycles with EWCM patches, which is confusing. I'm now waking up way, way too early and messing with MH's sleep too (even though I bought one of the ones where everyone on the Amazon reviews was like "doesn't wake up MH!"). I'm going to keep it going for now but I foresee myself ditching as soon as I can justify it.
@laurad75 thanks for the info. This makes me feel better. Maybe it is just too early. And maybe the slow growth will help me get a few awesome follies.
@wabash15 I go back for a follie check tomorrow so I should know soon if the increased dosage helps.
@TravelingCouple I'm sorry you feel out. Like wabash15 says, you're not out until you're out! I don't chart but I do obsessively look at my U/S and B/W results. Sometimes it helps me feel in control and sometimes it send some me over the edge... hopefully you're upcoming break will bring you some peace.
@ladymillil wishing you many good things to distract yourself with during the waiting!
I am so relieved - insurance is going to cover all my medications after all. IF is emotionally and physically taxing enough without the added financial stress. I hope i get pregnant some day and have leftovers meds to donate.
@Anna_1021 that's exactly my issue. They've given no explanation for the low count. If IVF isn't the only way then fine but I want to be very sure before we go $25000 in debt.
@JuneRoseRuby Nope that was not mentioned. I will definitely look into it. I can't believe that's the treatment lol. I too thought that if there's no obstruction they would offer my H clomid. What if we are all geared to do the collection for IVF and there is no sperm in the sample again? I thought they would at least want to give something to try to improve his counts. I am looking for another urologist today for a second opinion.
@TravelingCouple every pregnancy is different (at least so I've heard) so you never know. I've also decided to ditch temping and I'm glad I did. I know you're regular until your not but over the past year I've learnt to read my other signs and my OPKs are pretty reliable as well. When I temp I spend way too much time analyzing every temp in the tww.
Unfortunately, I got some bad news. Our one embryo did not make it to freeze/ biopsy. We will likely learn more when we meet with the RE next month but it doesn't really matter. My nurse told me she thinks I will probably take a cycle off and then discuss the possibility of a new protocol with the dr - I like the idea of a new protocol.
So I'll be med free for a cycle. I think I may rejoin the daily threads, although I hear they have been slow. Should I start temping again?

@LadyMillil You mention possibly having DOR...I'm just curious: have you had your AMH and FSH tested?
Me: 45 OH: 42 Beloved SS: born 12/2011 TTC my bio #1/our #2 since January 2016 **TW** June 2016 had CP **end TW** August 2016 - dx with DOR Somewhere in here received recommendation to do IVF with donor eggs, elected not to; OH dx with Low T May 2017 - began freezing sperm June 2017 - OH began treatment for Low T July 2017 - began doing 1 IUI via a midwife and 1 at home insemination each cycle http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/6259ba July 2018 - exhausted frozen sperm, officially NTNP since OH is probably shooting blanks
My AMH is low for my age, and on the lower side of normal. According to some studies that alone means I have DOR but others say low AMH + high FSH + low antral follie count is what diagnosis DOR. My RE thinks I'll be a low responder to stims but shied away from saying if I had DOR or not @Aurora1973
I hope we start getting some good news around here soon, ladies. It really seems like we are due for some.
@laurad75 I'm heartbroken for you. FWIW, I've been half assed temping lately so that I at least have an idea of when AF is due, etc because my cycles are inconsistent. Even when I didn't temp for a few months, I'd still get my hopes up each month just the same, so it makes no difference from that standpoint for me. I just like the data, etc. You also reminded me I need to make more of an effort to get involved in the dailies and participate more...
@laurad75@TravelingCouple@hartmich As easy as it is to scroll through in its current state, I'd love to see you guys (and more ppl from this thread in general) in the dailies
@laurad75 I am so sorry, that is heartbreaking news. I can't offer anything but the hugest, warmest internet hug of all. I am rooting for the new protocol, and until then I hope you can manage to hold on.

@laurad75 I'm so sorry. I hope you are able to get a good, new protocol. Many hugs to you. Temping might help you feel like you have a sense of what's going on but after all those medications and appointments, it might feel nice to not monitor anything at all.
@hartmich Agreed - this board is in real need of some good news!
@anna_1021 thanks for thinking of me! How did your visit with the RE go?
My follies are slowly growing... but too many are growing. I have 4 11s and 3 13s. I'm hoping the 11s stop growing and the 13s take off. They mentioned it's too early to tell if a few will take the lead or if I might overresond. If I do overrespond, likely when I go back on Monday, I have to be prepared to decide if I want to cancel the cycle or convert to IVF. We would be OOP for the IVF procedure ($4k) since insurance won't cover it until we've done 4 more TI/IUI cycles. It would be much more expensive for us and I still am not sure if I'm ready for IVF or really how I feel about doing it, but lately I've also been feeling worn and I hate the idea of cancelling, especially when my body's natural inclination is to overrespond and we might have to go the IVF route anyway. I'm praying that just a couple follies continue growing, and i don't need to make that choice!
@madspunk that's a tough spot to be in. its good the follies are slowly growing but its tough to be on the verge of having to decide to cancel or convert to IVF. well 4,000 is better than 20,000 but is still no small sum. The success rates are higher with IVF. I don't know what I would do, so I'm sending you big hugs and will be hear to listen as you weigh your options, vent, or anything else.
@anna_1021 I hope your RE has a great plan for you!! I can't wait to hear the update
AFM follie check is this afternoon so I have to wait a little longer to know whats going on but I'll update as soon as i'm done.

@laurad75 I'm so sorry to hear that. Really hoping that the new protocol works wonderfully for you!
I'd love to see more of you ladies on the daily threads!!
So I had to go in to see my RE today unexpectedly. I have been having abdominal pain since my hsg last Tuesday and he wanted to see me. Did an ultrasound no pelvic infection thankfully but does think I have a bladder infection (he explained that sometimes when the dye leaks out it irritates the bladder). He put me on a different antibiotic than the one I took last week before the procedure. I'm due back there Monday for 7dpo bloodwork and Tuesday to discuss the plan for next cycle. While he was doing the ultrasound he did say that my afc count was 7 on my left ovary and 5 on my right with one collapsed one that he thinks I just ovulated from. I have no clue what any of this means and didn't want to ask since I was there for just the bladder infection. Not sure if that is normal for an unmedicated cycle?
*TW* pregnancy mentioned* while I was waiting in the dressing room for my ultrasound there was a couple in there meeting with my RE and he told them they were pregnant and I heard them crying and thanking him. I cried for them even though I felt guilty eavesdropping. Made me feel hopeful. End TW*
@madspunk Yeah that would be a really hard choice. Good luck at your RE @anna_1021! FX for follie check @wabash15 @beachbunnyxo123 That really sucks about the bladder infection. Don't know if the follicle situation is normal for an unmedicated cycle. Always nice to hear when your RE's office has success with other patients FX for you @leekat14! Maybe you will be the bringer of good news to this thread...
@leekat14 FX!! I don't know about you but I find the weekend tends to pass by quicker (because obviously they do anyway!) so I hope that at least helps a little!
@beachbunnyxo123 I'm glad that your doc was able to see you and figure out what was wrong. Not sure about what the AFC means at all, but I'm sure someone else does... Also, I definitely would have cried too just because I'm sure that couple was sooooo happy.
@leekat14 fx so hard for you! @beachbunnyxo123 that is a pretty typical AFC they want to see a minimum of 6 but 10-15ish is more common and if you have a lot 20+ it can be a sign of PCOS. its good it looked like you O'd. It's sweet you got to hear your RE deliver good news!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) BW today The tech said they should have the results in a week. I have an appointment on 4/17 to go over the results.
How are things going? So much better!!!! I saw my new OBGYN this morning. She is amazing. Once she heard my history of 3-5 month long cycles, she did not hesitate to do a pelvic exam and BW. She is fairly confident I'm dealing with PCOS, but she wants the BW to confirm and see if there is a thyroid or insulin issue as well. Plus, she gave me Provera to get out of this hell cycle.
As painful as it is to hear that something is wrong with me, I am crying so many tears of happiness right now. I was right. Something is wrong. My new OBGYN is very optimistic that given my history and my age, that I will respond very well to Clomid. Her specialty is PCOS and she mentioned all this monitoring and testing, so I trust her. Having a way forward is giving me so much hope right now. Thank you for everyone who has been there for me in the interim.
Any questions? For those who have taken Provera, am I supposed to take it for 10 days, or up until 10 days stopping whenever I start to bleed? She wrote the script, but just put "as directed". I remember she mentioned something about 10 days, but I completely missed everything else
GTKY: I would still work at least part-time to give me a sense of purpose and drive. Lord knows DH would go crazy if he didn't have a full-time job. We would probably take some lavish vacations twice a month though

@LoveInDC I'm lurking, even though I kind of go here. I've taken Provera a bunch and my OB told me to stop it once I start bleeding. Sometimes I only have to take it a few days, sometimes I have to take it all 10!
@LoveInDC I am so sorry that you find yourself here, but I am happy that you are on your way to finding answers.
I'm surprised your doctor's first go to is Clomid? Anecdotally, just on this site, I have heard of WAY more success and way less side effects when PCOSers take Femara. My RE didn't even offer Clomid as an option for me, he said with PCOS he always uses Femara. Also, is there are reason you're using an OBGYN and not an RE? Sorry if you explained somewhere and I missed it. I only say this because I was first diagnosed at a midwife/OB office and they prescribed me Clomid as well. I think it's pretty much their go to. One of the midwives cheerfully told me that I shouldn't worry - a few months on Clomid and I would be pregnant! Which I mean... here I am going into IVF. When I transferred care to the RE he said they hadn't ordered all the tests they should have and that he disagreed with their treatment. Maybe your OB is amazeballs and Clomid will be just the ticket for you. I just thought you might like to hear my experience with a similar situation. Also, if you do choose to stay with your OBGYN I really, really suggest you get an HSG before you take Clomid and make sure they do several vaginal ultrasounds through the beginning of your cycle to make sure you respond well. I don't mean to sound like an asshole by saying this... but I don't think any OBGYN can have a specialty of PCOS. Their specialty is pregnancies and birth, not infertility. The only person who has a specialty in infertility is an RE.

ETA accidental extra tag

@madspunk, @wabash15 good luck with the follie check tomorrow!
So I'll be med free for a cycle. I think I may rejoin the daily threads, although I hear they have been slow. Should I start temping again?

I thought I wasn't going to rejoin the daily threads when I started bumping again earlier this month, but I did and it's been nice.
@laurad75 I'm so so sorry honey. That made me well up...I can't even imagine. But I'm so glad that you'll be regrouping and I really hope that your RE comes up with a fabulous plan. Hugs to you, too.
@LadyMillil You mention possibly having DOR...I'm just curious: have you had your AMH and FSH tested?
Beloved SS: born 12/2011
TTC my bio #1/our #2 since January 2016
**TW** June 2016 had CP **end TW**
August 2016 - dx with DOR
Somewhere in here received recommendation to do IVF with donor eggs, elected not to; OH dx with Low T
May 2017 - began freezing sperm
June 2017 - OH began treatment for Low T
July 2017 - began doing 1 IUI via a midwife and 1 at home insemination each cycle

July 2018 - exhausted frozen sperm, officially NTNP since OH is probably shooting blanks
@madspunk @wabash15 How are our follice check girls?
AFM: On my way to the RE's office. Drumroll pls, we'll discuss The Plan now (for IUIs in the very near future i hope, cause i can't do this shit any more. Said the wife in love, about sex w DH
Married: May 2015
TTC since September 2015
@laurad75 FX for a new protocol, I love your positive outlook!
@wabash15 how did your check go?
@anna_1021 I hope your RE has a great plan for you!! I can't wait to hear the update
AFM follie check is this afternoon so I have to wait a little longer to know whats going on but I'll update as soon as i'm done.

End TW*
Good luck at your RE @anna_1021!
FX for follie check @wabash15
@beachbunnyxo123 That really sucks about the bladder infection. Don't know if the follicle situation is normal for an unmedicated cycle. Always nice to hear when your RE's office has success with other patients
FX for you @leekat14! Maybe you will be the bringer of good news to this thread...
@beachbunnyxo123 I'm glad that your doc was able to see you and figure out what was wrong. Not sure about what the AFC means at all, but I'm sure someone else does... Also, I definitely would have cried too just because I'm sure that couple was sooooo happy.
@beachbunnyxo123 that is a pretty typical AFC they want to see a minimum of 6 but 10-15ish is more common and if you have a lot 20+ it can be a sign of PCOS. its good it looked like you O'd. It's sweet you got to hear your RE deliver good news!

GTKY: I would still work at least part-time to give me a sense of purpose and drive. Lord knows DH would go crazy if he didn't have a full-time job. We would probably take some lavish vacations twice a month though
