Just lost my plug today and was curious as to how soon you stm went into labour after losing yours. I know it varies but I'm kinda excited that my body is showing signs of moving along. I'm so over being pregnant and just want my little man here already!
I hate to burst your bubble, but it's not a clear sign of labor. It's different for everyone, but I know folks that lost it, and went into labor weeks later. I hope that's not the case for you tho!

I'm pretty sure I've been losing mine in chunks over the past couple of weeks. Mine are clear though, so maybe it's just snotty-looking discharge, but it definitely fits the description of the plug - minus the blood. And I'm still pregnant.
I've been losing mine in pieces two over the last 4-5 days. No action here either. I don't think it's a clear sign of impending labour. Some mommas lose it during labour, some lose it weeks before...

With DS I lost pieces of mine 3 or 4 times during the third trimester, and I had to be induced. With this one, I lost a big chunk a couple of weeks ago, and no signs of labor. It's not a good indicator of when labor will begin because it can get jostled loose through normal activity, and if your body isn't ready to go into labor it will just regenerate.
You can lose it and then it grows back and then you lose it again, so it doesn't necessarily mean labor is imminent. With DD I decided to have my OB do a cervical check on Friday (at 39 weeks). Saturday we did a ton of walking and moving around. Saturday night I definitely lost my mucus plug. It was HUGE and slightly bloody. Nothing on Sunday and then Monday morning I woke up feeling crampy. I went into timeable contractions in the afternoon and DD1 was born the next afternoon.
Edit: Meant to add that at my cervical check on Friday I wasn't dilated at all, but was about 80% thinned out.

STM: My water broke and I lost my MP during and after. It was super slimy and not like ANY other discharge I had during pregnancy. It was leaking out of me for quiet some time and even after I was checked into the hospital. One of my grossest memories of d-day.
Just to comment on impending labor theories. I don't read too much into any "labor signs", mostly because of how hard our bodies are pushed daily/hourly here at the end. My last pregnancy, during a c.check I was told I was 3cm. I left my appointment and instantly cried in my car because I wasn't ready to have the baby. She came 5 WEEKS later at 40+4d. I guess my water breaking was a great indicator though and some ladies don't get that big of a sign. I'm wondering if anything will be the same with baby #2.
With my first pregnancy I lost my music plug over the course of 5 days on the last day I lost a big chunk of it, I went into labor later that night. With my second pregnancy I didn't lose my mucus plus until I was already in labor. So it's a sign that labor will come, but not an "obvious " sign that it will come "soon"... hope that helps and I hope it means for you that labor will come soon...

Haha. Autocorrect always wants to do that to me too! Once when I was talking about cervical mucus. Like, what's cervical music? What would that even sound like?
