@souptin $60+??? We didn't spend anywhere close to that. Whoa. I find it funny how people prefer different things- I HATED the bouncer like what you had. I got rid of that pronto with #1 and never touched one with #2. Lol. We got a ton of use for quite a while out of our Bumbo. (Maybe because my kiddos weren't super chunky babies?) For us, it was a favorite item.

I buy soooo much of my baby/kid stuff used. Like several other posters on here, I buy most of their clothes, lots of their toys, and several big ticket items that are easily cleaned and safe, used. Big ticket items like, strollers, bouncers, swings, ride on toys, high chairs, cribs, pack n play etc. Wouldn't ever buy a used car seat or mattress unless I personally knew the previous owner. When mine are smaller, I buy some used shoes, but I've found that as they get older and better walkers, I like them having shoes that aren't as worn in. I still buy some used shoes, but I look for closer to new condition. I babywear and cloth diaper, and buy carriers and diapers from reputable sellers, and if its an event like JBF where I can inspect it in person, then I am comfortable buying them used there too.
I love finding great deals, my husband appreciates the frugality of resale shopping, and I like being able to get more for my money since they grow out of clothes sooo fast. I also shop a lot of local resale shops where I frequently sell back items and buy new stuff.
Just the thought of shopping makes me want to change from team green! Haha!
@awildrose I just double checked Babies R us Canada and they are $70 without a tray and $80 with one so maybe its just Canadians who pay a crazy amount for them? It is incredible how one thing works for one and not another. It makes buying big ticket items ahead of time such a gamble.
The only thing I would NOT buy used is a car seat...and formula/food of course! I'm a STM, and most of the stuff we have for our first (15 mo boy) was used. We were gifted a lot of nice new things, but we've only ever bought a car seat new. The reason is, you just can't know if it was ever in an accident. Even if the car seat looks fine, any accident your car is in warrants the replacement of a car seat. Check Facebook groups for baby buy/sell/trade.
We were given a bumbo..... we really didn't use it.
I buy as much as possible used. Check out B/S/T groups on Facebook, they're great for nice clothes and carriers! The only thing to never buy used is a car seat!
1 swing, 1 exersaucer, 1 infant tub, 2 maternity shirts, 1 changing pad, 1 changing pad cover, 1 crib sheet, 2 large swaddle blankets, 4 dresses, 1 shirt, and 2 pairs of shorts.... for a grand total of $130!
