  • @DuchessOfCambridge I know what you mean about being anxious to be further along but at the same time wanting to enjoy it. But I will be so much less anxious after 12 weeks.

  • @jess0211 That's so frustrating about your husband. Would he be convinced by reading about first tri sickness and sensitivities?

@jess0211 @DuchessOfCambridge I'm having the same internal debate about telling at work. I told one person I work closely with because I've been so sick I had to work from home a couple days. But she has kids and regularly works from home so I knew she would be supportive. I'm thinking about telling my direct supervisor this week and asking her to keep a secret (she also has kids and I think will be super supportive). I don't want people to avoid giving me good assignments but I also don't want people to think I'm just being lazy when I stay home to vomit you know what I mean?

    1. Due date? 11-3

    2. How are you feeling? DD posts are welcome if you need support
Ugh. So sick. Vomiting 3-4 days per week. Eating whatever I can, which is increasingly fewer foods. Obsessed with ginger candies.

    3. Any upcoming appointments and/or updates from recent appointments?
8 week u/s and progesterone check tomorrow! Pretty excited to see the fetus again. I'm not sure when I'll graduate from the RE but it could be very soon. I also scheduled my CVS with a doctor who specializes in a couple of genetic conditions including mine. Thank you Manhattan -- your plethora of specialists has worked in my favor.

    4. Questions/concerns?
I've been pretty nervous about how sick I am, but yesterday at my thyroid check my endocrinologist said it is actually quite common to lose weight during first tri. She said as long as I'm hydrating, just eat when ai can and it'll be fine. So I'm not beating myself up about it anymore.

@adirat I am thinking of telling my boss for similar reasons, in addition to those I mentioned . I am not vomiting (yet) but am getting nauseous in the mornings and often have to put my head down until I feel okay again. With our short term office move and sharing a small space with other people I may need to have some work from home days. It's bad enough feeling like this at work but having to feel like this with onlookers and though it isn't awful yet I am expecting increased symptoms. Eh. Also I started reading the book you recommend! I see why you love it now. It's perfect for someone like me who relies on data! Thanks again!

Eta glad you're not beating yourself up anymore! I think I mentioned before my BFF was really sick her whole pregnancy and had a healthy, beautiful little girl (who I helped with the delivery of, Amazing!).

  • @adirat I'm sorry you're so sick but I'm glad you feel better about the weight loss. I'm trying to maintain my normal weight because my dr said I shouldn't really be gaining weight in first tri, maybe a pound or two. She also said based on my size she expects me to gain only around 10-15 pounds total which I think seems CRAZY so it'll be interesting to see where I end up. Especially since I'm not nauseous at all and have no food aversions. Please let us know how the ultrasound goes tomorrow!

@heatherdubrow yay for your ultrasound today! Please keep us posted, can't wait to see your little lovebug! FX you get the most reassuring news.

You're all making me feel like I'm going to start getting nausea next week ha

  • @DuchessOfCambridge my nausea is pretty mild and seems to mostly be in the mornings, evenings (arounf bedtime) or if I am hungry which is rare lately. But I see the ladies a week ahead of me post and it makes me anticipate it getting worse haha

  • @heatherdubrow woooo hooo for ultrasound today! Sending positive vibes! Keep us posted!

  • Had the ultrasound... measuring behind by a bit, there was a heartbeat but it wasn't obvious. They said it's still within the range of normal but are having me come back to check again in a week.
So not the super encouraging news we were hoping for but we're not out yet.
Now I get to stew over this for a week.
  • @heatherdubrow I'm sorry it's not the reassuring news you were hoping for but at least there is a heartbeat. I know it's going to be hard for you not to stress about it so please feel free to do all the dear diary posts you want. Praying for your little bean and that everything will be perfectly fine next u/s.

  • @heatherdubrow I am going to cross my fingers and toes for your next ultrasound that all goes well! I know the next week is going to be agonizing for you, please feel free to share your anxieties here over the next week so we can give you some support. And remember, right now, you're pregnant. <3

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @heatherdubrow I'm sorry it wasn't exactly the news you were hoping for but I hope this next weeks goes quickly for you.  FX you get the news you want at your next ultrasound!  I know this is probably a stressful time for you, I'm here if you need to just talk or vent  <3
  • I think the most stressful thing is knowing what my ultrasound with my other ivf pregnancies looked like at this point. The heart beat was clear, strong, and fast. This one was slower, weaker, more difficult to see. They said it could be just developing slower. Measuring behind with an ivf pregnancy is more worrisome since we are exact on dates.
I guess we will just see where we are next week.
  • @mispanda I was surprised too because of what I read online saying 13 weeks. But my OB said that hospital grade dopplers can actually pick up heart beats as early as 7 weeks. So, I may or may not be able to hear it, but they are going to try.
  • @heatherdubrow Sorry your ultrasound didn't go quite as planned. FX that all is well and next week is better! Did you have ultrasounds on the same dates/weeks along before?
  • @heatherdubrow big hugs my friend. I'm staying focused on the positive and hoping for unequivocally good news next ultrasound.

@NYTino24 Good luck! I hope it goes well.

  • @adirat thank you my love!

    1. Due date? By LMP 11/13 by O / me 11/20. Still no confirmation yet.

    2. How are you feeling? DD posts are welcome if you need support 3

Aside from bad fatigue, I am feeling great. Slight car sickness sometimes, but usually only in the morning. Back is a little sore and occasional cramping (probably due to constipation and bloating). It's still early and I'm wondering if I'll have the nausea of last pregnancy. Overall, I am feeling like a lucky leprechaun is blessing this rainbow baby!!

    3. Any upcoming appointments and/or updates from recent appointments?

Just checked in on ultrasound / weekly appointment threads

    4. Questions/concerns?

Shall we suggest a ticker challenge for April?

@jess0211 My boss, who was told in confidence, has apparently already told the secretary and nurse. Not happy about it, but I'm sure tongues are already wagging due to my bloat (which was better today) anyway.

@kyersten Congrats! Looks more like a froggie than a tadpole now!

@adirat Have you tried Preggie Pops? I've heard good things and they may help with your sugar! I personally pop a mini candy cane and it helps.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

  • @slaven some of the OTC heartburn prevention medications can be Rx by your doctor and then it's a lot cheaper!  I had really bad heartburn with DD and my OB Rx me Zantac (I think that's what it was)  It was worth it.  Hope you get relief soon, I know how annoying it can be!
  • @NYTino24 Yep, I ordered some preggie pops and I like them. I think @wabash15 recommended them to me. Lemon is one of the few things that appeals to me so it's also nice that they're lemon-flavored.

  • @heatherdubrow
big big big hugs! I know you will get great news next week and hopefully can put your mind at ease!!!
when is your appointment next week? I have my1st ultrsaound on Thursday. I'll be 6 + 5

  • @JDW0325 thank you! It's Thursday as well! I'll be 7+5. I hope yours goes great!!
  • Thank you everyone! I am excited and (for now) actually feel confident for the first time since I found out I am pregnant.

@jess0211 I told my boss almost right away, but it was because I knew she would be supportive. It has been helpful for dealing with nausea at work and being able to make appointments, knowing she knows why.

@DuchessOfCambridge I hear ya on being ready for the first trimester to be over. I am trying to enjoy each moment of being pregnant, but am hopeful I'll have a lot less anxiety once I reach the second trimester.

@adirat I hope your ultrasound goes wonderfully! My doctor also told me it's common to lose weight the first trimester and that I'll make up for it the second and third.

@heatherdubrow I'm sorry the ultrasound didn't go as well as you had hoped! Fingers crossed the next one looks right on track and that this week goes by quickly.
