Re: Weekly Symptoms 3/14

  • @GlitterFish @KissMeImScottish I've just had the normal dried colostrum I pick off but definitely no leaking...or let down...ugh! I definitely have "slow flow" boobs and let down though so I'm not surprised. My let down usually just dripped like a leaky faucet at the beginning, and never once did I see my boobs squirt. I think I stopped leaking all together at like 3 months.

    Man, this life is glamorous.

  • @MrsLa3  What hurts? Sciatica? If so, I had this around 18 weeks, but the being unable to walk only lasted a day thankfully. I hope it gets better for you!

No I have SPD, I've never experienced sciatica but I know it hurts too.
  • @MrsLa3 Oh ok. Nvrmnd then. I do hope you can find some relief, I really know nothing about SPD. That one day where I couldn't walk, I just sat on the floor and cried for a good 20 minutes because I couldn't deal with anymore pregnancy crap.

@MrsLa3, you can count me as a fellow sufferer of SPD. It's no fun at all, especially when I first try to roll out of bed in the morning and add regular morning pregnancy stiffness to the mix. There are days that it's almost impossible to physically walk. And I'm over here with slowly rising BP levels and know that exercise would probably help control it, but I'm just like...how?? I wish I had some suggestion as to how you could have some relief, but I'm in the same boat. Minimally useful support band, heat/cold packs, and lots of rest.

  • No idea how long this will last but I have been melting some Raw Cacao Butter in my hands and using that anywhere I'm itchy and *touch wood* I haven't had a single itch in the past 24 hours!! Aquaphor and cetaphil were too sticky and annoying so hopefully this works better.
  • I had no idea what let down was so I had to google that.  FTM boob noob syndrome.

  • @Rae1 I just calmly closed the browser window and stared into space for a minute or so.  The naivety is real.

  • I'm feeling very achey and cramping around my c-section site, basically very low in the belly area. Any other c-section moms experiencing that? I wonder if it's a c-section specific thing or if it's a normal pregnancy symptom.
My scar burned a bit when I had my second. Not yet for this one though. Just the tissue stretching and getting used to growing again. My c section took longer on the second as well bc of all the scar tissue.

Trying to show my shame in the spoiler box. OK I don't really know how the spoiler works on mobile, sorry! It's my wet shirt, showing about 10 min leakage on the right and already dried on the left. Le sigh.

I assume that's not "let down" level?

    Sorry for the grossness.

Aw...just so you know, it doesn't happen to everyone the same way.  I never leaked, squirted or dripped breast milk, so no worries.

@GlitterFish You could get some breast pads and put them in a soft nursing bra or cami.
  • @chiquita928 But it's tooooo sooooon!! These darn things are pressuring me - I didn't even really want to breastfeed! haha

  • I got it early with my son and the worst part about the colostrum before baby is the fact that your nipples now are stuck to your bra and it's SO painful ripping them off!
  • @KissMeImScottish @MrsLa3 I googled SPD because I've never heard of it but I believe this may be what I have as well. I just figured the aches and pains were all a part of pregnancy. I cried today because it's been so difficult to move today and last night. I feel like my pelvis is ripping apart.
  • @Poppyseed72017 I would definitely bring it up at your next appointment. My doc was able to diagnose it with a super quick pelvic exam.

If it turns out it is SPD, knowing your triggers helps a little bit (if you're lucky, it's something you might be able to cut down on or avoid). I can't squat or sit cross-legged anymore, for example. It still hurts like a beast though. Especially at night and early in the morning. I hope you feel better soon!
