How big is baby? Romaine lettuce, or apparently half a medium pizza. Dear goodness that pizza in my siggy looks amazing.
Appointments this week? Had one this morning hence the late-ish post - everything's looking good! She's pretty big (estimated 7lb 7oz) but not enough to cause concern on the part of my OB - she says to expect an 8.5-9lb little one.
Symptoms? Starting to get indigestion frequently which is.... fun. (Honestly I can't believe it's taken me this long to have it!) Sooo much pelvic pressure, nerve pain, back pain, hip pain. Occasional BH contractions. Insomnia. Basically all the things at this point
Rant/Rave/Questions? This is the week that DH is out of state for a conference (tomorrow through Sunday), I'm glad he's going and I know the chance of anything happening is low, but it still makes both of us a bit nervous. My parents are here just in case anything goes awry!
GTKY: Other than your DH/partner, will you have anyone else in the delivery room for support? Not at this point besides nurses, doctors, etc. Just the two of us!
Appointments this week? Weekly check up on Friday.
Symptoms? This baby feels so low that it feels like I'm about to drop him half the time. It feels so weird whenever I pee because of how low he is. And my boobs hurt so bad like my milk is coming in early or something.
Rant/Rave/Questions? My husband is only home 3 nights over the next two weeks so I'm hoping the baby waits until at least 39 weeks. They keep saying to expect him to come a little earlier but hopefully they're wrong.
GTKY: Other than your DH/partner, will you have anyone else in the delivery room for support? Possibly my mom. I invited her to be in there and she was there for DD but she said she got so anxious when I was having her that she doesn't know if she can handle being in there again. She's going to decide the day of - 99% sure she'll end up being in there so she can see him before everyone else.
@McFarKane I also thought about having my mom as a backup support person if DH is exhausted, and I still might talk to her about it, but from talking to her I get the sense that she wants DH and I to experience it together. Plus like you I think she'd be really anxious and worried in there and asking a bunch of questions.
Appointments this week? Routine weekly check tomorrow morning
Symptoms? Peeing ALL the time and swollen feet/ankles...blech. Been soaking them before bed every night and that has helped somewhat. Wanting ALL the sugar - causes me to get anxious stepping on the scale every week now.
Rant/Rave/Questions? My craziness I needed to get through before baby could come is over after tomorrow night. Now if babe will just stay put while my ob is gone a couple days next week we will be golden.
GTKY: Other than your DH/partner, will you have anyone else in the delivery room for support? Just DH - don't need anyone else seeing me like that haha!
Just had one today. Baby is head down and measuring about 6.5 lbs. I went from nothing to 1cm & 50% effaced in a week, so I'm really happy about that. I didn't get that far with DS even at almost 40w!
Symptoms?
Tired/nesting, achy hips and back, painful contractions here and there, and the waddle.
Rant/Rave/Questions?
I'm thankful that I've got the energy to work like I have been, but I'm getting really tired of the BS that's going on right now. I want to finish my stuff and peace out.
GTKY: Other than your DH/partner, will you have anyone else in the delivery room for support? Not in the delivery room. I only want DH there for that part. It was so crazy last time, I couldn't imagine having anyone else I knew in there. I will let people come visit for 10-15 min at a time as long as I feel like it while laboring though.
@schef070911 I debated whether I should ask her again. Her and my husband show anxiety in very different ways and they clashed pretty hard last time and both made me angry. My mom will still make comments about that day which is extremely irritating. But when it came time to actually have support to push and seeing the baby for the first time i loved having both of them to share the experience with. We let my mom cut DD's umbilical cord and then she left so that him and I could have a full hour to ourselves before being moved to another room.
Yes, I see my OB later this morning for my weekly appointment.
Symptoms?
I feel baby's head pressing on my cervix a lot, that's an interesting sensation. Same as last week, although I think he's moved a bit more centrally because the nerve/groin pain I was experiencing terribly last week is better which is nice.
Rant/Rave/Questions?
Rave: 3 more weeks to go. I can't believe it. It still seems surreal to me. For STMs I imagine this is normal and it doesn't really feel real until you're holding your baby? Rant: As I posted on another thread, our furnace broke earlier this week (of course during a cold spell) and so we had to buy a new one. Surprise expenses are not fun.
GTKY: Other than your DH/partner, will you have anyone else in the delivery room for support? I will just have DH and the appropriate medical staff present. I was there at both my sisters' deliveries but that's because I'm in the medical field so they felt more comfortable having me there.

Appointments this week? Yes, we had one yesterday. I'm already starting to dilate and all that jazz. She said I was .5 cm more than last week. Who knows. She had a patient pushing so it was kind of short.
Symptoms? Really, really tired and it's getting harder to move around.
Rant/Rave/Questions? Our house is finally coming together. Last weekend DH finished painting the upstairs stairway and staircase. I painted a little hallway this week. We are receiving the last couple furniture/decor deliveries this week and next. My diapers came in yesterday. I am starting to feel like we might actually get to a place where I feel like the house is "ready" for Babe.
GTKY: Other than your DH/partner, will you have anyone else in the delivery room for support? We have a doula and I hired a birth photographer. DH keeps saying that he doesn't need to be there because I've hired so many people to attend and clearly his presence won't be missed. *insert eye roll*
Late to the party since I've been sick as death for the last couple of days.
How far along are you? 36 weeks.
How big is baby? Footlong sub, or a papaya (those don't seem like they're the same size...)
Appointments this week? Had an OB appointment on Monday with all the usual stuff, plus my GBS test and my hospital consent paperwork. Yesterday I went to the doctor because I've been having issues with a sinus infection that's spread to my ears and has just generally made me miserable. I stayed home from work today and slept most of the time, so I am feeling a little better but my ears are still jacked up.
Symptoms? I think my sinus infection symptoms are masking anything pregnancy related right now, haha. I have noticed some increased pelvic pressure over the last few days, and sometimes the lower part of my uterus will almost cramp up, so I wonder if she's dropped and that's just how my body is reacting to the extra pressure?
Rant/Rave/Questions? Most of my completion orders have come in! I'm going to try to finish up the nursery today if I ever get the energy to do anything with it. I also ALMOST have all of my sub plans done...which is good because at this point with all of my coughing I'm worried that I'll send myself into early labor.
GTKY: Other than your DH/partner, will you have anyone else in the delivery room for support? Nooooooooooo. Honestly I would rather go solo than have anyone else in the room with me.
@SnarkasaurusRex Yuck re: the sinus infection.... those are the worst. I hope you get to feeling better ASAP!! And congrats on being almost done with sub plans! From talking with my teacher mama friends that seems like an incredible amount of work.
@SnarkasaurusRex I'm sorry about the sinus infection too. Sounds miserable. Hope yours goes away faster than @KirstinH88's did. I substitute taught for awhile myself, and all I can say is, some teachers had amazing plans and some had crappy ones and I made do with both. But then again, I never did long term. I'm sure your sub will appreciate your work!!
Thanks ladies! I do feel better than I did yesterday so I'm hopeful that it's on its way out. They did give me antibiotics to try if it persists for a few more days. I really don't want to have to burn another sick day (my maternity leave is only paid if I have available sick days) tomorrow, but we'll see.
I wouldn't stress so much about my plans if I didn't teach an AP class...I really hate that I'm ditching them right before the national exam so I'm trying to make it as easy as possible for the sub to review with them.
