I think after 12 weeks, you should count age in months. Also, after 18 months, you should count in years. Idk wtf 30 months means but if you say 2.5yrs I can understand that age.
@becky012016 yes lol. On a facebook group I am in, a mom posted a long story/problem and I couldn't focus on giving her advice because I got sidetracked by the fact she said her daughter is 28 weeks old. I was like whoaaa hold up how old is that?! LOL . I think she responded with something along the lines of "she turned 6 months last Wednesday." oohhhh ok.
I see people do it here though, it just cracks me up.
also related.... I know everyone loves their kids but no one except your 3 year old cares that he's actually 3 1/2.

OMG, yes! I saw a woman on tv who said she was still nursing her 57 month old. WTF? say "almost 5" or "4 and 1/2"
I've found their is a big difference between 2 and 2 plus 3 months. But I'm not about to say 2 and a 1/4 or 2 and a 1/3. So I say he turned 2 in November Come May, I'll say 2.5 :-)
@Becky012016 YAAAASSSSS!!! dont make me math- thats not nice. Its annoying. I had a mom who was talking about her 36 month old to me. No, he's 3. Just stop- you sound like a twat.
My UO is I can't stand Lularoe. Most of the prints are too crazy or just plain ugly, and I don't like any of their styles of shirts or dresses. Their leggings aren't too bad if I could only find a print I actually liked.
I piggybacked on someone elses... so here is my own.
My UO is I don't like babies/toddlers/kids/tweens in bikinis. I know it's an UO becauase I see it everywhere. It's odd that this bothers me because I am far from conservative normally.... but this bugs me. I can understand 2 pieces for convenience of going to the bathroom, but tankinis work fine for this.
@sugarpixxie2 yes, not to mention, lets be honest, no mom wants to go through the struggle of sunscreen on more of the body than they have to. We did tankinis for my DD. It was cute and they honestly don't make many one pieces.
@sugarpixxie2 I am right there with you. I wish they made more 1 pieces. I have a 13 year old and swimsuit shopping is a nightmare because she wants a bikini and I will not let her have one. Which apparently makes me a mean mom. And I'm proud of it!
@dpandmb you are definitely right about selection. I feel like I give my daughter 4 options of swimsuits at the store when there's 50 other ones there. Even the regular clothes, I can't believe how many short shorts and sexy off the shoulder shirts there are for an 8 year old girl. and mini skirts. I just want my kids to be kids. Hell the tweens are all wearing Victoria secret now too.
@jamiern01 yes my daughter would kill for a bikini. She doesn't harp on it too much because she just knows it's my rule, but I always catch her pulling her tankini above her belly button and acting like it just ended up that way from playing lol
+1 on the Lularoe hate train. My best friend and I actually send each other pictures of what we call "Lularoe in the Wild." It's all the hideous prints we see in public. I don't understand how people convince themselves that some of these prints and/or color combos are cute!
I also agree with the no bikinis for kids. A sub-issue I have with this are string bikinis, or tops (bikini or otherwise) that have triangles where boobs would be on an adult woman. No titties, no triangles will be my rule if we ever have a daughter. It's just weirdly sexualizing to me.
@sugarpixxie2 oh its horrible for the tweens. I'll never forget when my husband helped me do the laundry few years ago. My oldest (16 now) was about 12 and my MIL had gotten her some panties from VS. DH was helping with laundry, picked up a pair and put it in my pile. I was like "um those are DD" He threw them and flipped. I couldn't do anything but laugh.
I agree on the kids swimsuits/clothes. I tried to buy a dress for a friend's 3-yr-old as a birthday present. Almost everything I saw was backless or had really thin straps. Her parents are really conservative. It was so hard to find anything that seemed appropriate for such a young girl.
@amandarene112 yes the triangles and the ones with sexy cutouts are definitely worse. If your kid is going to wear a bikini there are lesser evils that are much more child like and innocent.
@dpandmb lol on the underwear! my daughter wears the bikini style rather than the giant granny panty brief style and I sometimes think it's too grown up but I'm just thankful she still likes characters and crazy colors! I couldn't imagine her wearing sexy underwear! But VS does sell modest underwear if that's what you're looking for. your poor husband lol
MIL bought my 2yo a pair of those kind of panties that barely cover the entire butt cheek and says "C U T E" in huge letters across the back. She called them "bootie panties" and thought it was so funny/cute, so naturally DD calls them that as well. I cringe every time.
My UO is that I called my doctors office today on day 13 of 14 to ask if my NIPT were in yet, because I won't be available tomorrow to take calls. So I was that patient who calls too early...
But I got to speak to no one and had to leave a message

So going along with the "sexy" clothes for little girls... I tried to shop for some summer shorts for my 3 year old niece last summer and I could only find super tiny little short shorts. I ended up buying her Bermuda shorts because those were the most modest/longest shorts I could find.... I was kind of shocked... like she was three years old.... just during normal play those tiny shorts wouldn't cover her girl parts! SERIOUSLY?? And I couldn't find any shorts in between Bermuda and booty length. It was really eye opening. And infuriating... I was so mad. I almost bought some jeans and made her some damn shorts myself.
@daniellelynette last summer I bought my daughter several pairs of shorts from the boys section. The girls are all too short and/or too tight. So ridiculous.
I completely agree on the little girl's bathing suits/clothing. Why would a pre teen, child or toddler need a string bikini? My daughter is eight and I will buy her one pieces or tankinis only. One of them had "boy shorts" and she came out of her room with her hands on her hips, flipping her hair and tried to hike the tank top above her belly button.
needless to say that bathing suit made it right to the trash immediately afterward.
I am on the no bikini train. Poor DD, if it were up to DH she would wear a full body swim suit. As it is, we put her in long sleeves and regular trunks. She is part Filipino, so she gets SO tan in the summer time that DH is worried about her getting too much sun. When he's not around I let her wear a one piece. Now that she's potty trained we may switch to tankinis.
We call them "chonies" (spelling?) because we think it's hilarious when my three year old yells "I can't get my chonies on my gluteus maximus!!" (Her pre school teacher taught them that name instead of "bottom")

@DPandMB see I don't like moist either, but it doesn't cause me near as much pain as the word p*ssy. That word causes me severe physical pain. I can't stand it. Even when it's used in reference to a real cat or something. It's awful and it makes me want to pull my brain out through my ears. I hate t so much.
@daniellelynette bahaha. I actually lol at this. I totally agree. It's a disgusting word. I couldn't handle it, When all those women protested after trump was sworn in. In my opinion (probably UO) I couldn't stand behind those protest when there was a sign that said "p*ssy power". I mean I understood the reasons, but nope. I couldn't handle it.

Sorry. We always call them panties in our house. Wonder if that is southern thing?
For all of you hating the word 'panties'...
In fact, all of our babies go in just swim diapers and copious amounts of sunscreen until they are about 2.
