1) How did you do on last week's goals?

2) What are your goals this week?

3) Inspire Us! What's been your favourite healthy meal so far this pregnancy?

Also, I'm having an awful time remembering to start this thread each week. Is anyone interested in taking it over for me? I'm sorry I keep posting it so late.

Re: Healthy Habits Check In (03-05)

  • 1) How did you do on last week's goals? Well I didn't go for my walk outside as planned. But I did make a point of parking far from work and walking in. I also got my steps increasing on my Garmin tracker. Then I got a cold and it all went downhill.

    2) What are your goals this week? First I need to get over this cold. But my nausea seems to be reducing, so I'm going to try to avoid the sweets and carbs that I've mainly been surviving on.

    3) Inspire Us! What's been your favourite healthy meal so far this pregnancy? A veggie wrap! A wrap with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red peppers, cheddar cheese, and a bit of light ranch dressing. It's helping me get my veggies and totally hitting the spot at lunchtime!

  • 1) How did  do on last week's goals?
Terrible, I was traveling for work and only made it to hotel gym once. Next time I pack a bathing suit. I was on my feet most days so at least I wasn't sitting all day. I was so exhausted I was in bed by 9pm.
This also meant a lot of eating out. I tried to include a salad each dinner so I was getting something healthy.

    2) What are your goals this week?
I have derby 2x and volleyball & soccer games so that will jump start me back into being active.

    3) Inspire us! What has been your favorite healthy meal so far this pregnancy?
Salad with restaurant ranch dressing. I don't know how they make it, but even though it's so funny it's been making salads my go to thing. But I think I need to switch to packaged ranch at home to get it to taste the same.

I think anyone of us can start this each week, one of us just needs to remember
  • 1) Ran 20 miles last week, but also ate about 20 lbs of pasta.

    2) Run 4x and hit up at least one yoga or barre class.

    3) I get pretty excited about making good salad dressings. Last week I made a cilantro lime cumin and a tahini citrus slaw-type sauce. Both good but the tahini one didn't save very well in the fridge, it got really thick.

  • I'm so behind!!
Last week's goals went right out the window. I ran and lifted a few times but it was just a busy week and my energy was nonexistent.
this weeks goals for me are exercising 5x - 4 runs and 2 strength training days.
My go to meal has been cold rice/bean wraps - whole wheat tortillas with brown rice, beans, cilantro, avocado, and lots of salsa. I started craving it at week 5 and can't stop!!

  • 1. This past week I've been eating horrible due to MS....just trying to keep food down. And I only worked out one day, lap swam for an hour.

    2. This week I hope to swim once, and go for at least two runs. I'm not going to make food goals until I start feeling better.

    3. DH made a seafood gumbo last night filled with shrimp, crab, and tons of veggies. I think that counts as healthy? It was delicious at least :)

    @mountainmartha That wrap sounds amazing!
  • Ummm i want to go here.... but I am failing. I will try to come back next week with a healthy report

  • @buttercream_frosting that's me too :( I was doing fairly well before BFP, but exhaustion and MS, combined with a stomach bug two weeks back, have all put a damper on my good intentions. Now that the bug has FINALLY made its way out of our house over the weekend, I want to deep clean my house so I feel motivated again. It's amazing what a clean, organized house does for me when I want to eat healthier and exercise. As crazy as it probably sounds lol
  • @sjohns08 I'm sorry you had a stomach bug, that is just too cruel. Let's both get back on track and check-in later on or in the next week's thread :)

  • @buttercream_frosting deal! And thank you. Luckily, I only went through one day of it, combined with a migraine, and went to the er to get fluids and migraine and nausea meds. Which has I feel definitely helped in the long run. My youngest and middle kids had it in some sort for 10 days :( dh had it for several days. Luckily my oldest skating out without being effected
  • I would also love to join, but I'm just surviving off any food that I can keep down! I'll check back in when I'm inspirational! Good job ladies

  • I weigh myself weekly but forgot last week. (Okay I didn't want to because I was scared). Anyways, I weighed in this morning and I'm the exact weight as 2 weeks ago! I was thrilled!!!!! I've already gained 7lbs this trimester :( so I need to watch myself! So this was a huge positive for me!
  • Yesterday I went for an apple instead of the cookies (those girl scouts!) But then ended up eating Carmel popcorn. My motivation need is definitely around food!
@mommac2017 my doctor said not to worry about weight gain, if you are already healthy & active and continue that trend. He's a little more forward thinking than most docs, but I agree if you stay on the healthy track your body will adapt as needed.
  • @KathleenLM, yeah my OB is very laid back about weight as well. She doesn't even weigh me at my appointments. BUT I gained 70lbs with DS and was borderline for gestational diabetes. I'm starting this pregnancy 30lbs heavier than when I got pregnant with DS. So I am really trying to keep an eye on myself. I can't let myself gain 70lbs again or I'll have 100+lbs to lose after!!
  • I find that if I'm having an "off week" setting a little achievable goal puts me back in the right frame --- aka X amount of water a day, or X servings of fruit/veg a day --- it can't hurt! You will feel better about yourself and better in general.

  • I managed to do some simple exercises this morning to try to get myself back on track. I'm stalking pinterest for ideas of what to do since I normally only do intense workouts and that's off the table now lol. Hopefully I can keep the momentum up tomorrow ;) now to get my eating habits under control...
