@meilay, my stash looks like this: newborn: 5 AIO (I think Rumparooz?), 7 covers (most China cheapies, a few Rumparooz), 24 GMD workhorses OS: 16 orange GMD clotheez prefolds, 10 Kawaii pockets, and a ton of WAHM embroidered diaper covers (it's a rabbit hole...) with some random inserts from the WAHMs too.
I'm a big fan of covers and prefolds for the simplicity. I started out as a newbie and had a bunch of pockets, but quickly learned I hated stuffing them after laundry was done.
@Wearmi1 so sorry for everything your going through! I hope your bleeding stops soon.
we use tide original powder normally and will probably keep using it. Maybe free and clear version?
As for cloth diapers, were using kissaluvs fitted size 0s, prefolds, and thirsties covers for the newborn days. We used Bumgenius freetimes for dd from 12 lbs on for dd and plan on using them again. I even bought a few boy colors yesterday! Dd is allergic to disposables so my plan is no disposables at all for Micah just in case he is sensitive too.
@Wearmi1, sorry to hear you are going through this. Don't be afraid to call your doctor's office as many times as you need to check in/get the reassurance you need. Prayers that it stops soon.
Sorry ladies I meant to post that over in symptoms. They told me that if it starts to be a period flow then to call them back and that if it continues through the weekend I need to come in next week. I get mild cramping like Braxton hicks going on. I guess they aren't too concerned since my ultrasound on Monday was good I'm feeling regular baby movements but it's unnerving to say the least.
On another note I let my husband convince me the other night to look for a new house. We must be crazy trying to purchase a house when I'm almost 27 weeks along. Anyway I went on my lunch hour with hubs and our realtor to look at one. Loved, loved, loved the neighborhood. Very stepford wives ish :-) So our realtor is pulling the comps and trying to help us figure out an offer. Hopefully this works out.
@meilay For cloth diapers, I use a combination Green Mountain Clotheez with thirstees covers (I have a few others, but those are my favorite) and Bum genius pockets. The prefolds and covers are easier to wash, but I like to have the pockets for easier changes in public bathrooms or to leave with my parents when they have dd. I just trifold the prefolds and put them in the covers, so I don't use pins or snappis or anything. For newborn size, I used the size one thirties and cheap prefolds or flats. The site fluff love university is really helpful if you want to research cloth diapering. They have a Facebook page, too, which is helpful for troubleshooting but also might freak you out if you look at it too much ahead of time since it is mostly people talking about their problems. It can make you feel like everyone is having issues all the time. Most people don't have issues, but they are great at helping to figure things out if you do.
@mirdamae03@Kylieslip24@ellie111227 Thanks for sharing about your cloth diapers! I've spent I don't know how many hours researching cloth, even before TTC, and every time I feel like I have a decision made something happens to make me doubt it. I think I'll try a mix of prefolds/covers and some AIOs for when DH is feeling overwhelmed or my mom has her.
ST+Ms, how much do baby/toddler feet tend to grow in the first year or so? I am having the HARDEST time finding shoes that fit DS! He is 10 months and his feet are about 4.5 inches long. I finally ordered some Tiny TOMS for him in a size 5 for spring (from the size chart it looked like they'd be just a tiny bit big). They are literally an inch too long. Is there any hope that he might grow into them this summer or should I send them back and get the 4?
@ladylolly89, Tiny TOMS must run really big because we are having the same problem. We just ordered TOMS in a size 5 and they are huge even though all her other size 5 shoes fit fine. I'm going to order a 4 and try those. Generally, DD's feet are on the smaller side (she's 18 months) but they are wide, and the only brand I've found that consistently fits and stays on is Stride Rite. I keep trying other brands and not having any luck.
@swanbrooner house hunting is certainly a fun distraction although I'm kind of over it already. I'm meeting our realtor after work to look at 2 more houses before we put in an offer on the one we saw on my lunch hour. There is one that is about 20 minutes from where I work on 2 acres of land and has 4 bedrooms. I'm not gonna lie I don't want to drive 20 minutes to work everyday. I'm so lazy. The house we looked at during lunch is 10 min from work. We'll see.
For CDs, we have around 37 pocket BUmGenius 4.0 that were gifted to us from a friend with twins. I've also bought a few Blueberry Simplex and 1 rumparooz cover.
@Wearmi1 I am sorry you're having to go through this! Hopefully it's nothing major and like pp said just an irritated cervix. I know I would be a little frustrated about the "keep an eye on it" situation as well. Keep us updated!
Does anyone know where I can go to physically try on a maternity bathing suit? I need one for Disney in 6 weeks, but I don't trust ordering online, especially with a larger chest.

Ive been told roughly 1 size every 3 months and my experience is roughly 1.5 sizes every 3 months.
I'm sorry you're dealing with that @Wearmi1. That's so much unneeded stress for you! I hope things clear up soon for you!
We use tide original powder for all our laundry and have had no issues.
We have all BG 4.0s/5.0s for our dipes, @meilay. I liked the pockets because I could easily customize them when we were having issues with heavy wetting at night. I don't mind stuffing diapers and just stuff them all when I take them out of the dryers so they're all ready to go straight from the drawer for diaper changes.
Detergent - we just use the same stuff on DD's clothes (regular Wisk - it's what my mom uses, and I'm often sensitive to smells so I've stuck with the familiar). Someone wise pointed out to me that if you use something different on baby clothes than your clothes, they're still going to be rubbing their little faces on your shirts and getting "exposed", so if they're that sensitive, everyone will want to change.
So I called my ob to find out if Robitussin is indeed ok (and to move my GTT / appointment - didn't want to get all of the other ladies sick!) and get a voicemail back saying that it's fine, but she wanted me to go to my PCP or urgent care to confirm it wasn't whooping cough or bronchitis. So....I did. And I have neither of those. No flu either. Just a really nasty cold (which kept DD home today with DH while I went and coughed through my grandmother's funeral). What a week....
I'm sitting here, anxiously awaiting a phone call from my ex-husband. DH and I are ready to start the process of stepparent adoption, and it will go much smoother if my ex will agree to sign away his rights rather than having to drag it out through court.
@FSUNole31 it went surprisingly well! He *says* he is not going to fight us, so we'll see if he actually follows through. He recognizes that DH has been filling the dad role for almost 3 years now because ex has been basically non-existent in his life for awhile now, and that he needs that consistency. I take what he says with a grain of salt until I actually see some action on his part....

There are a few places you can rent a variety of diapers so you can try before you buy. I think jilliansdrawers.com is one.
Omg the internet at work went out over 2 hours ago. Absolutely everything I do is through a web-based program. I am sitting here with a list of things to do and no way to do them, but contractually I have to stay another hour. At least I not at one of the schools that also lost power...
So after dealing with a toddler with a stomach bug for the first half of the week, now I have it. At least it wasn't at the same time. I feel so weak I can't carry dd around. Fortunately my mom was here most of the day today, and she even went to run errands for me during dds nap. Dh is off tomorrow morning, but then he has an overnight thing for work starting in the afternoon, so that might be tough. I'm not sure whether I should call my ob about this kind of illness. I guess I should call tomorrow just to be safe.
Thank you all for your thoughts this week. I'm still bleeding. I'm going to call tomorrow and schedule an appointment for next week to be seen by in OB instead of my midwife.
Just need to vent a bit. Every since my MIL passed away on Monday it's like my husband has forgetton about me and his responsibilities at home. He's been off all week. I have no idea what he's been doing all day. Then he and his siblings get together at night and do who knows what. He's been out every night well past when I'm in bed. Anyway he convinced me to jump head first into buying a new house. I'm the one whose been out with the realtor driving and looking at houses. He's been to two of them. We want to make an offer on one but he's had some questions about easements on the land the prospective house is on. Our realtor emailed him and said she'd call at 5 this evening. He informed me he was busy and didn't have time for the call. I about lost it. He's not been helping me around the house this week. In fact he's just leaving shit around everywhere and not cleaning up. No clue what he's been doing all day. I'm tired when I get home from work but clearly unless I do everything around the house nothing is getting done. Laundry. Dishes. General cleaning. I reminded him he still has responsibilities at home and he was like I'm not gonna have this argument right now. I'm just really frustrated. I understand losing his mom was hard. Does that mean you just check out of your life though?

stuck in the box
I'm so sorry. He is going through a lot right now, but so are you. I would gently remind him that you're bleeding and should be taking it easy. I hope things get better soon. Creepy internet hugs.
Dropped the kids off at daycare and noticed one of my tires looked low on air....upon further inspection I find a nail in it. We just took it to get serviced last weekend and spent over 200 on brake pads. I do not want to spend more on a tired. Ughhhh always something.

@Wearmi1 I agree with @doodleoodle. I understand he is mourning and everyone mourns differently, but you have a lot going on as couple between looking at homes and your bleeding. Especially with your bleeding I vote you should really take it easy and he could stand to help more with chores until you can get feedback from the doctor. Sorry you guys are having such shit sent your way lately. I hope the bleeding stops and you get answers soon.
@Wearmi1 I agrre with the PPs. Even if your house is a mess, stop doing everything. You are bleeding and need to rest. As far as the house, if he is that interested in moving he needs to he involved. If it were me, I would personally tell the realtor you need to put things on hold. Take care of yourself. He is mourning, and everyone deals with that differently. There is plenty of time to clean, and plenty of houses will continue to be for sale. I'm sorry you are dealing with all of this. Just my 2 cents on what I would do personally in your current situation.
@Wearmi1 Echoing @MKRLTX, even if your house is a wreck... don't worry about it. Take care of yourself and your baby. When I was bleeding earlier in my pregnancy I had a similar situation with DH. DH seems to think "taking it easy" and "resting" are just recommendations from a doctor, and not actually necessary. But when you are pregnant, you REALLY have to take those words to heart and rest. I know it is SO much easier said than done, but do your best to rest.
@Wearmi1, I completely agree with @MKRLTX, put the house hunting on hold. Take it easy on yourself and your husband. He did just lose his mom. Though, I agree it doesn't give him a pass to just quit his duties, he should get a little break. I don't think you need to pick up the slack though. Just relax, house chores, house hunting, etc. can wait.
I agree with @Stankonia2014!! You both get passes. Let the house hunting rest and let your house get dirty. Nothing wrong with that.
Playing devils advocate ( as someone who just went through this with their MIL and someone who lost their own parent) it rocked my world. I checked out of life the morning my dad died. I can't tell you when I started coming to again. And seeing the pain my DH had to go through, knowing exactly how he was feeling, hurt me all over again.
He probably really needs his siblings right now, because they know!
Thanks ladies for your words of wisdom. I appreciate it. It's just stressful because I've been staunchly against us buying a new house while I'm pregnant because it's stressful and who wants to move when they're heavily pregnant. The housing market out here is ridiculous as with the price of everything else. It's turning very quickly into a sellers market with very little inventory. We'll see what happens. I just know he has done nothing with the nursery yet, his plan was to take 3 weeks off next month and just do the entire thing then. But if we're house hunting he doesn't want to do it. My insane need to nest and have Adeline's room ready is making me feel unprepared for her arrival. I don't want to bring her home to a construction zone because we don't get into a new house and he puts off doing her room and I already know in my mind I won't be able to deal with a new baby and living with construction going on in my home...... I know I'm stressing over things I don't need to I just need everything planned out and ready. The Navy has made me this way, planning things out to the most finite details. ;(
