1. being able to participate in life. I am just in too much pain to move much more than absolutely necessary anymore. I can't wait to just leave the house and do stuff and be happy about it.
2. sleeping without being woken up with pain at least once an hour, and on my stomach
3. a nice sweet red wine and ALL the fruity summer drinks
4. being able to play with DD1 again
5. wearing clothes that fit me. seriously, a large amount of my maternity clothes are getting to small. I am just to fat and to round.
6. basically everything else. I hate being pregnant.

On the baby side: holding him.. even changing nappy.. making him sleep. Making him smile Showing him to my parents and family.. I cannot wait to see my husband holding him!!! I am convinced that it will be the happiest moment of my life.
And for me... A beautiful, icy cold can of redbull (don't laugh - I love the stuff and the kick it gives). Wine and cocktails. Runny eggs. Liver pate. Eating whatever the hell I want, really... actually I miss being able to fast if that's what feels right! A strong espresso after dinner....mmmm Proper sex. Getting my body back - not worrying about hurting another person just because I turn or bend. Being able to go to the gym (eventually). Sleep on my back and front! and crazy hot baths!
Me: 35 year old FTM, a busy city banker living in London, and a constant worrier. My DH: French guy, car fanatic, best husband ever. Our baby boy: Due on 17 April, currently 37 weeks. I can't believe it - I made it to full term!!!! Last measurement: 3150 gs at 37+1! This is going to be a big baby
I'm with @Dannylion24 and not having to plan bathroom breaks when I'm out and about! So inconvenient.
I can't wait to sleep on my back, although I'll be side nursing a bunch so it still probably won't happen much. Also can't wait to recline, slouch, and just generally stop worrying about my position in relation to preventing breech positioning.
I already pretty much eat what I want. I don't order my steaks ruined (aka well done), deny myself a taste of cookie dough, or actively avoid lunch meat. I don't like coffee or alcohol either. In fact, I will miss eating peppermint stuff on account of breastfeeding!
I'll be happy to pick up and cuddle my toddler without awkward discomfort.
Sex is already seldom, but it's my husband's job/grad schools fault. Though, my previous sentiment about worrying about breech causing positions still applies!
I'm going to be a debbie downer - I never fit into my old clothes after #1, and I wore maternity pants for a year after #2. So it's nice to think about, but keep in mind it may not be a reality for everyone.
@shaunessa oh my gosh I forgot about that! We are too, three months after. I'm so excited about that. And at our last vacay (where baby was conceived actually) I wouldn't let DH sit in it for longer than ten minutes either so he didn't kill his little soldiers. He's gonna be really excited about that too!
1. Beer. 2. Beautiful spring days at the breweries and wineries. 3. Less back pain. 4. Snuggles with DS where it doesn't feel like he's crushing the life out of me. 5. Running. Heck, just not feeling like I ran a dang marathon after walking up a flight of stairs would be an improvement. 6. Seeing DS as a big brother.
I've got another - DH not asking if I have to go "potty" before sex because I have to pee every 20 minutes. You can tell we are STP's when we ask each other about going potty...
I can't wait to be able to shave my legs, put on socks or shoes, or simply pick something off the ground without breaking a sweat and feeling like I just ran 50 miles. It will also be nice to do some proper landscaping. I tried to shave yesterday and am still wondering how to do that for my next appointment when the OB checks me. I'm sure currently my special purpose looks like a lawn mower randomly attacked it. A glass of beer or wine will also be so lovely I hope I won't have to go and pee mid sexy-time anymore. I also can't wait to be able to switch positions in bed without flopping around like a fish out of water because I can't turn. It will also be nice to wear regular clothes once more.
Although on the flip side, I'm dreading the nursing pads, constant leaking and boob pain, and sleepless nights for other reasons LOL
Ok, I just have to ask... it sounds like most of us are looking forward to regaining a more normal sex life post pregnancy, but how does this work with baby sleeping in a bassinet next to our bed? Are we just on hold until baby moves to his own room? SIDS guidelines say 6 months... added to the lackluster third tri sex life, that's looking like a long time. What do you all do about this?!
We had DS in our room in his crib for the first year of his life (small living quarters). We just did it with him next to us. He was always asleep, but even if he happened to wake up I'm not sure he'd be scarred for life at such a young age...
@BabyBlake042017 well, our house isn't very big. I figure just in the next room for an hour or so with the monitor on in the evening will work. We don't habitually get it on at bedtime. It's usually in the evening or weekends during the day. So it's not like she'll have to be in the bassinet next to us at all. Obviously when we're on our fourth kid we will need to figure something else out. Lol.
@babyblake042017 I only really see this as an issue if you get up in the middle of the night to get it on...otherwise if you don't want to do it with baby next to you, put baby in crib for a little bit before bed, or in the morning when you get up, or whenever it is you want to do it.

@BabyBlake042017 DS slept in our room for the first year (totally unintentional, but hey, you do what you have to) so we just did it when he was asleep. We just did our best to keep quiet.
We definitely had sex with DD in the room. She was in her own room mostly after a few weeks. But she was still occasionally around. I mean a sleeping infant has no idea what is happening. I think she will be grateful for parents who are happy together so it is worth it.

@Nolegirl1185 a mango presedente is number one on my list too! I have already told DH to have my favorite sushi roll on hand to eat as soon as she pops out. It called a red bull roll and it's basically a spicy California roll wrapped in raw steak and kissed by a torch. Also comfortable sex, sleeping on my belly, and not having to pee every 5 seconds. I'm totally gonna miss the pregnant belly though.
Not being out of breath during every class that I teach! I won't be returning to work until the fall, but I will be glad to be able to teach a lesson and not sound like I am huffing and puffing!
@rachelmiller03 I'm having the opposite issue, lol. I have to eat all the time to try to gain weight, so I'm in the bathroom all day long.

@rachelmiller03 I've need DYING for cherry Coke Zero and I asked my OB this morning if diet soda is ok to drink and she said she recently did research on effects of aspartame and that you would need to have a truckload of it for any adverse effects to happen so today when I leave work I will be purchasing a case of cherry Coke Zero, putting it in the fridge and enjoying a cold one tomorrow! I still don't plan to go crazy on it but nice to know I can have it and not worry
@ekzerr that's good to know! I rarely drink soda, mostly just ginger ale on airplanes and sometimes my DH abd I share one if we go to the movies but these last two weeks I have wanted soda SO bad. My DH has a 6 pack of Diet Coke in the fridge from a work event, so maybe now I won't have to feel so bad if I cave and crack one open
Because of this Gestational Diabetes biotch that joined the party most of the things I'm looking forward to are not stabbing myself 4 times a day, eating a freaking bowl of cheerios with banana, no more thrush mouth, and being hooked up to a monitor several times a week.
Id say sleeping on my stomach but for me breastfeeding boobies are not happy to be laid on. I think it was like 6 months before I felt comfortable sleeping on my chest again without leaking everywhere.
Ahi Tuna from Bonefish Grille
A nice vodka and cranberry in a frosty glass.
And i I really can't wait to not feel like I've run a marathon when I put my socks on
@Mama5181 YES to not pricking my finger 4x a day- or having to remember to test an hour after eating, and watching that I don't eat things in between meals and testing that will raise on my numbers. Its really cruel of pregnancy to make me crave things then tell me my body can't handle them!
I have not enjoyed this pregnancy at all. But honestly, post partum was so much harder for me so I'm trying to not look forward to that time and then feel let down with how long it takes for my body to feel "normal" again, not to mention my mood, which has never gone back to pre-baby state of happiness...I look forward to baby obviously though!
But in terms of things I miss, wine. Red, red wine.

Going hiking with my dogs and running. My one dog can't jump into my Jeep with her arthritis and being 75 lbs, I'm not allowed lift her... We both can't wait for this to be over!
I work in an industrial facility with 90% men, so feeling somewhat back place again and being able to climb ladders and extensive sets of stairs around evaporators and chemical equipment without worrying about who I have to let know in case I go into labor so someone can come get me.
Shooting my bow, I don't have the strength to draw back an arrow anymore, and I feel like my belly would be in the way now anyway.
Snowboarding, I finally moved back north and missed out this season.
And obviously sushi, drinking and steaks that are cooked properly. Cause if it's medium or more, it's overdone.
As far as sexy time goes, after having a baby, it can even be weird for the mom (that's how I felt) to feel sexy or want any action. I felt flabby and not attractive. I was squirting my H with milk, and my body was still not quite there. So i think it's a perfect time to actually spice things up and not keep it just in the bedroom. There are many other places in the house to get it on and it can be quite exciting. Luckily there are also baby monitors so you don't have to worry about not hearing the baby. :P
Re: What are you looking forward to after this pregnancy ends?
