Everyone that had (or has had multiple) a membrane sweep, when did you go into labor? And when did your water break and how?
Just curious how other sweeps went.
I had a membrane sweep at 39 weeks. My doctor said, "see you this weekend. I am the one on call" she knew what she was talking about. Two days later I went into labor. My water didn't break on its own. She had to break it at the hospital.

Anyone know anything about drinking Green Tea during pregnancy? I'll have to add it to the list of questions for my Dr but just wondering if any of you drink it or have heard if it's okay. A quick google search tells me it's fine as long as you keep track of the caffiene. I get flavored green tea and I remembered reading something about being careful of the ingredients in the flavored green tea. This particular one is the Stash Pomegranate Raspberry Green Tea. It has Matcha in it which I thought I read wasn't good for pregnancy?
@c1tym0m22 no, nothing else is swollen! The only other odd thing is my right toes being tingly for the last week. I think I'm going to call the doctor's office tomorrow and leave a message on the nurses line. I'm sure it's all normal stuff, but who knows.

I drink a cup or two of Tazo Zen almost every day. Mmmm. Just watch for added herbs, because many herbs have not been tested for safety during pregnancy. I hadn't heard that matcha wasn't okay for pregnancy, but that the caffeine content is higher than other green teas.
@alm52386 I haven't seen matcha being bad for pregnancy. I drink green tea lattes made with match and just try to stick to the under 200mgs of caffeine.
Thanks so much for the well wishes everyone. It was nice to read them while waiting and waiting. I'm home from the hospital now. Baby is ok and I should be too. When I called the doctor yesterday, I thought at most they'd have me come in and listen with the doppler. I'm bumped and kicked all the time by my 3 year -old, but this time it was different. I had about 7 contractions during the first 45 minutes on the stress test, so they sent me in to the hospital to check for an abruption. It was basically the sort of work-up you'd get if you were in a car accident. I also have A- blood, so they did extra testing to see if our blood mixed at all. I had the initial rhogam shot, but may need to go in today to adjust the dose and get more based on the KB test. It was a looong day. I appreciate your messages.
@LAMCH1980 I'm so glad they were being extra careful. And that everything seems to be looking good! Get some rest today.
Finally got some sleep last night! I wish it made me feel better but alas I still can't breath and I sound like a man. Being sick while pregnant is just cruel. Tomorrow is a big day, its V-day for me and dh is signing his life away to the Army for four more years. He has always been a lifer so its part of our "plan" but it always makes me nervous.
Mom to Madison- 5 and Lillian 2....and now surprise baby #3!
@LAMCH1980 Glad you and baby are ok. Sorry for the stressful day! To everyone who has rashes: I don't know if it is related - but I have chemical sensitivities so ANY lotion or soap that is not made from totally natural ingredients can give me rashes. I know pregnancy causes all sorts of sensitive skin issues so maybe try only using natural products?

I have a question.... detergent for baby, what did/do you use? Some things I have read say regular laundry detergent is fine, others say to get something specific.
@LAMCH1980 Glad to hear everything is OK! Hopefully you were able to get some rest.
My friend delivered her baby at 32 weeks yesterday due to preeclampsia. They're both doing well! Anyone have ideas on things to put in to a care package for them or extra things they'll need with a preemie?
@MKRLTX I used regular detergent with DD3, and she was/is fine. She does have eczema, but the detergent doesn't seem to bother it.
@danijo My DD3 was a preemie... Preemie out fits are SO hard to find, so if you find ANY, send them to her! I was blessed to have people around me that gave me so many outfits, and I have passed them along to a friend who had a preemie, etc.
DD3 tested positive for strep yesterday. Her ONLY symptom was diarrhea and complaining of belly pain. No fever, no sore throat... SO weird.
Also, my sweet boy loves to kick me in the vagina. DD never did this.
@danijo I had mine at 32 weeks and the most helpful thing was my MIL and mom went and bought my husband and I several gift certificates to some of the restaurants near the hospital, just like the deli's and casual chains, nothing fancy. That was so helpful that we could just run and grab something to eat nearby and not have to worry about cooking. Other ideas would be little hand sanitizers, nipple cream if she is pumping, preemie outfit.
@MKRLTX I used/use regular detergent with DS and he did just fine! It just depends on baby's skin. My nephew doesn't need baby specific detergent, but they have to avoid certain brands. When my sister was a baby, she had severe eczema that was irritated by detergent and my mom did have to buy baby specific detergent. I would try regular and switch only if you have to.

I use All Free and Clear. It ended up being cheaper than the detergent we were using so I just kept using it.
@MKRLTX we used Tide Free and Clear powder for a few months and then gradually started mixing Tide Original powder in with it to make sure we didn't have any reactions. We use Tide Original powder for our cloth diapers and our clothes.
I second tide free and clear. That way you can wash everything the same. I bought one bottle of dreft when my first was born then switched to free and clear.
@LAMCH1980 great news! @danijo My youngest nephew was almost 3 months premature. I highly recommend outfits that aren't full zip up onesies because of the wires that the baby will have for monitoring. My SIL like being able to put him in something other than the hospital onesie to feel more like "home". Other than that, the hospital will provide them with a lot of day to day essentials, so I also gave a couple of nice receiving blankets for home and (if the mother is breastfeeding) I bought my SIL a nursing bra that lets her go hands free pumping. That just made her life a bit easier.
Well my brown discharge has turned into bright red blood again. The midwife just wants me to monitor it. It doesn't seem normal that if I'm bleeding I should just monitor it. It's not like I'm having a period but there's no reason for it. I haven't had sexy time or done anything to cause it.
@Wearmi1 so sorry to hear about this! Maybe you have a really sensitive cervix and it just bleeds for little or no reason. Or some weak blood vessels keep opening up?

@Wearmi1: Did they give you a timeframe to monitor it, because I agree red blood doesn't seem like something to just monitor indefinitely. I hope you have some peace of mind and are able to rest soon!
@Wearmi1 I hope everything is ok! It sounds like you have a really good medical team advising you, so hopefully you feel like you can trust them even though it sounds a little strange. Have they given you a time frame when it should stop?
Re: detergent, I have always used regular tide powder, both for cloth diapers and ask of my family's clothes. I know some babies have trouble with certain detergents, but I think it is worth trying whatever your regular detergent is and see. No reason to use something that might not get your clothes as clean or would cost more unless you have to!
@Wearmi1, I'm sorry, that's really scary and frustrating. I had bleeding in pregnancy about this far along and they said my cervix was irritated and they cauterized the bleeding with silver nitrate. My H was deployed, so it wasn't due to sex or anything I did, my cervix was just irritated.
@Wearmi1 I'm sorry the bleeding is back. I hope you get some answers soon and it also stops.
I've seen a few people mention cloth diapers. I'm curious what brands people have and like? I was leaning towards grovia as our main diaper but now DH has expressed feeling nervous about it and I think I'll need a few AIOs as well. It's really overwhelming to try and choose.

We use prefolds and covers - Green Mountain prefolds and Blueberry covers. I also love GMD's workhorse fitted diapers (basically prefold material and thickness but already fitted into a diaper shape with elastic around the leg areas) and would honestly use those plus a cover exclusively if cost wasn't an issue! Blueberry also makes an AIO, though I have yet to try it. We have been happy with our set up, and have never, ever had a blowout while DS was wearing the Blueberrys.
@Wearmi1 Are you cramping? Did they give you a time frame/amount to consider? Praying for you!!! When I had bleeding this pregnancy it was terrifying, so I can only imagine how you feel.
