DS accidentally kicked me in the stomach while trying to escape his bed last night. Bumps and kicks are normal, but this time It knocked the wind out of me and really hurt. I called the doc hoping to hear "You'll be ok, there's lots of padding, yada yada", but instead they made me come right in. So....I'm sitting in the office freaking out. Share your tummy kick success stories? I know this stuff happens when you have a toddler.
My cousin is due on March 2nd, and fell flat on her stomach HARD the other day. She went in and the baby is just fine. Good luck!!
@LAMCH1980 Near the end of my pregnancy with DD, DS (around 18 months at the time) jumped onto me and landed right on my belly. Hurt like hell and I went into freak out mode. Luckily DD was fine!
@LAMCH1980 I don't personally have a story, but when I worked in the ER I took care of a woman who was on a party bus because it was an event for her husband's company, and on the road someone who had a little too much to drink stumbled trying to walk while the bus was moving and went flying directly into her stomach. She was about 30 weeks at the time. I will never forget them because she was SO upset and SO mad at her husband for making her go (understandably so), but baby turned out to be okay. I'm sure everything is just fine, but I'd be nervous too! Let us know how it goes.
@LAMCH1980 Will be thinking of you - 35 lbs of DD plopped down on my tummy (I was laying on the floor - BAD idea) and a trip to L&D happened for me as well. Everything was totally fine, but they said that they don't like to take any chances at this point in our pregnancies. Add in that I'm Rh- and any sign of bleeding would have necessitated a Rhogam shot, and I was glad I went. Fingers crossed you're aok!
Anyone else having mobile app problems? It randomly signs me out, which is normal but it won't let me sign back in! I know I have the correct password! I enter my email and password and click login and then it just reloads the login page. Ugh. Super annoying. How am I going to bump while babysitting later?!
Also, I just got back from the OB to leave a urine sample. I woke up feeling like I have a UTI. yay.
I know many of us have been through this, but being sick and pregnant just sucks. Finally took some Tylenol this morning since I was running a fever, and now trying to figure out how I'm going to join a videoconference for work while sweating (and in a tank top) while the fever breaks - not exactly my most professional look. I'm debating calling my ob to figure out if there's any cough medicine I can take, and really hoping that DD doesn't catch this bug. Tuesday B***chfest over.
I'm feeling like I have first tri exhaustion all over again. Aren't I supposed to get a few more weeks before I start feeling this way? I'm just so tired all day.
So late to the party but @LMMama i started red raspberry leaf tea and EPO around 35 weeks last time. For the red raspberry leaf tea it has to be pretty strong. I originally bought tea bags and my midwife was like NOPE and told me to order loose tea. I forget the ratio. I liked it but preferred it iced. I never had cervical checks until I was about to push so whether it worked who knows. My labor was 6 hrs a week early so theres that. I will do it again.
And holy crap @Wearmi1 what a completly shitty day. hugs!!!!!!
I'm already having a shitastic day and then some douche at work calls me a 'dumb woman' because I disagree with him on politics. I want to rage on his face.
@Wearmi1 I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL! I agree with pp as far as attire goes, dark non-vibrant colors is typically the norm.
I woke up yesterday with a sore throat, and it hung out all day... by last night it hurt to talk and now this morning I feel like I was up front and center at a boy band concert screaming my head off. Blocked myself off at work today and laying in bed. Anyone know what we can take for sore/swollen throats??
They sent me to L&D after some not so hot monitoring at the dr. This is turning into a little more than I was planning on today...This is making me nervous.
my 2yo sits, lays and bounces on me 24/7. It's so hard to make young toddlers understand!
Speaking of 2yos. My son has finally hit the stage where he throws fits over silly things. This morning it was because I took his pj pants off while trying to get him dressed. Which causes a 30 min meltdown and him putting himself in his crib.
Does anyone have rashes from having dry skin? I've been using coconut oil and regular lotion and I cannot get the rash to go away. Maybe it's something else. Anything else I should try? It's on my chest and arms.
I had my mock class for that virtual teaching job last night, it went well except I went over the time so I have to do the second mock class this Friday. I know what I need to work on so with some practice I am really hoping Friday is perfect. Cross your fingers for me if you can ladies!

@Wearmi1 damn, what a tough day yesterday... so sorry for your loss and then the added stress of bleeding, just happy to hear Little A is doing well ::hugs:: to you and your DH, hopefully today has been a better day, considering.
@krex thanks for sharing your experience with us!!
@LAMCH1980 hope everything is well, keep us posted
@LAMCH1980 fingers crossed for good news from the monitoring
@JessyKV My hands are so rashed out that my hands are cracking I have tried everything: changing my lotion, soap, adding thick moisturizer, etc. It's somewhat better with doing all 3 of those. I made sure my lotion was aloe not water based and that my soap was SUPER mild and hydrating
I woke up with classic UTI symptoms and so I went to the OB to give a urine sample. By then the symptoms were mostly gone. So of course the culture came back negative for anything abnormal. They are sending it out to be cautious. Pregnancy makes your body do weird things!
@alm52386 I feel like I am getting a uti pretty regularly, especially when I am pregnant. My body needs a ton of water, and I usually get that "beginning of a uti feeling" when I haven't had enough. If I drink a quart or two of water and wait until I pee a couple times, it goes away, so I have learned to wait until I do that to call my doctor.
@ellie111227 Thanks for the advice! I haven't been drinking enough water the past few days so maybe that was it. I usually get one really really bad uti once a year or so, that's why I immediately called the dr! I like to catch them early since they get real bad, real fast usually. It still feels a litlle "off" down there but not like it did earlier this morning. I'll just keep drinking a lot of water!
Oh man, sorry for the shittastic day yesterday @Wearmi1! Glad Adeline checked out OK!
@LAMCH1980 Big hugs to you. I'm glad they're being so thorough but I'm sure it's not easy on you. Hope all is well with babe. Update us when you can! ❤
Posting this here since we don't have a symptoms thread this week. Anyone else experiencing swollen (the only way I can think to describe it) boobs? I have gone up a couple bra sizes since being pregnant, am already 'muffin topping' out of my latest 36G and the last two days (like the last weeks in my last size) at the end of the day when I change into PJs and take my bra off, my parts of my boobs are like swollen into/where ever there was room in my bra for them to expand (currently wearing a wireless bra). I am not sure what else to do, I can't keep buying a new bra every other week. Feeling defeated.
@graceriesz I've been limited to sports bras only. And I recently had to get a larger size of those. I have 2 and I'm limited to shirts that go with sports bras. Last weekend I stretched on a pre-regnancy strapless Bra for a dress for my sister's shower.
@kyreno11 sports bras that are comfortable are really not a good look for me in public, I wear them at home and to bed and don't have the swelling problem. Ugh, maybe i'll have to figure out shirts I can wear with them.
