Mardi Gras is about indulgence before a fast, What are some things you splurge on? beauty products? shoes? clothes? food?
Big or small what is something you have to have?

Re: GTKY: Mardi Gras edition (splurge/indulgence)
I'm a makeup junkie. And I don't go for the cheap stuff either... oops.
I love clothes, but I keep them really low cost because I like expensive shoes and bags. To me, the quality for those two things really does make a huge difference. Plus I'm wearing them more often than individual clothes items so I can justify if that way.

I'm with you @hartmich on the shoes and bags. quality makes a difference and I will use them a lot more often

Usually food is my go-to, though. I have to avoid certain aisles in the grocery store because I'll just buy random food items I'm craving. Usually it's pudding, goldfish crackers, and gummies. For Mardi Gras, however, I bought myself a box of haagen dazs ice cream bars (The ones that are coffee ice cream coated in toffee bits and chocolate).

Food and books are my weakness. Historical fiction/non-fiction for books. Fast food and ice cream for food. Nothing brightens my day like Taco Bell or Wendy's. I also love fruit snacks, like Gushers. And candy. And string cheese. And all food, if I'm being honest. I love to eat, whether it's fine dining or absolute junk.

@GG620 I would really like to get more into skincare but I'm completely flummoxed by all the various creams, cleansers, etc. How do you even learn what to use and what's best? At this point I'm just a cleanser and moisturizer gal.

@wisewitch222 I'm a sucker for Froot Loops and Lucky Charms myself. Definitely curious about the cinnamon Frosted Flakes, but a bit scared to try it. I don't like messing with original flavors usually.

@mschanandlerbong1214 oh what's posh??
Im not cheap, I just don't know what to spend my money on! I'm plain with a lot-black/dark colored clothes. My hair doesn't do anything but I am lucky and get compliments on how nice and shiney it is. So hair-wise I don't need much. Makeup I just use liner during the week but I have some urban decay eye shadow and drug store mascara for the weekends. No lipstick, just not my thing.
I will splurge on a bunch of random shit I don't need from Amazon if that counts!

@Bababatty I learned a lot honestly from trial and error. If you are just starting out I recommend only trying trial sizes of products for a few weeks first to see how your skin reacts. For bare bones beginning, I recommend a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer that you use morning and night, then depending on your skin, a detox mask OR a heavier moisturizer/oil that you use about twice a week.
I love caudalie. All of their products are absolutely amazing and they have some great introduction trial sets. I recommend this one for the best all around set and beginning:
https://us.caudalie.com/exclusives/gift-ideas-special-offers/gifts-sets-and-limited-editions/caudalie-favorites-set-1.html
The micellar water is the best make up remover ever, plus an amazing toner! So it's two in one and awesome
I also highly recommend dermalogica's ultra calming cleanser for all skin types. I keep it in the shower and use it every morning.
My usual regimen looks like this:
Morning = dermalogica ultra calming cleanser, caudalie micellar water, caudalie premier Cru eye cream, 3 drops of caudalie Cru elixir oil, caudalie cream sorbet on my face and neck and then spray of caudalie's beauty elixir when I'm about to put makeup on or need freshening or moisture through the day
Evening=caudalie, micellar water, caudalie eye cream, and caudalie heavier moisturizer
Then once a week (or two if it seems oily) I use caudalie's detox mask, which is a clay that dries and minimizes pores. I also have a thicker caudalie moisturizer I only use when my skin seems more dry. I've also tried Aveda, Burt's bees, etc. So feel free to ask me
If interested, I use coconut oil in my hair and whole body, but it made my face break out. I also mix fresh coffee grounds and sugar with almond oil and it's a homemade exfoliating scrub for when I need it. You don't want to exfoliate too often.
PM me any questions ladies!!!

However, if I do splurge, it's usually food, skincare, or yarn.
I'm always up for good, high quality food. If it's going into my body, I'd prefer that it be at least reasonably decent for me, though splurging on a vice food is always good too.
I have to live with my face for life. I don't wear a lot of makeup, so I don't buy a lot. I'm big on high quality skincare products though. Lately, my favorite thing is the Yuzen box. It's a quarterly subscription box that's really reasonably priced, and is all about high quality, eco-friendly, often local products. I have loved every box I've gotten from them.
I knit and crochet and high quality yarns are my biggest weakness. I have way more yarn than any one person should, but I just cannot resist.
I'm kind of all over the board. I tend to spend a lot on my hair and makeup regularly but I typically go cheap on shoes/clothing unless there is something in particular I really want. I have shamelessly been wanting a Louie Vuitton handbag forever now and my H said I can buy it with our tax return money
@BreezyBee That purse is superrr cute!
Perfectly Posh, love that stuff, but it's expensive and haven't on pay $ for shipping.
