How big is baby? Asparagus, coconut, 4 navel oranges, jar of Nutella, a football.
Team Blue, Pink, Green? And name(s)? Team Blue - Samuel Cruz
Appointments this week? Nothing til 3/9
Symptoms? Lightning crotch and easily out of breath. I think Samuel is still feet down as most of the movement I feel is in the lower abdomen and haven't experienced a ton of rib shots like I did with DS...
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Went through a bunch of clothes that DH's best friend brought over as well as a box from a friend of mine. So many clothes! They're all in the process of being washed and then I just need to fold them and put them away in the dresser that DH is mostly done setting up as well. I washed, folded, and put away all of the towels, wash cloths, burp cloths, and blankets. Today is my baby shower (Yay!!) and tmrw I plan to go through everything, wash, organize, etc. I also talked with HR this week in regards to maternity leave.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Rave: Baby shower is today!!! And now that DH's unemployment is flowing in, I'm feeling like I'm back to my much happier, less stressed self. Also it's DH's birthday this weekend!
Rant: I had DH turn on the heater last night because it's been cold the last several nights and we have both the stepsons as well as DH's best friend and two daughters here and I woke up at 4am sweating! How high did he set it for!?
GTKY: Are you nervous about any of the changes a new baby will bring for you, your relationship or your life in general? I'm not worried about DH and I's relationship. We've been down this road before and weathered some pretty ugly storms. I'm worried about how the kids are doing and how they will transition to having a newborn. My DSS#1 has been acting out lately and I'm not sure if it's just his age (9, almost 10) or if he is having other issues. I'm worried about DS because he's super attached to me and I've been trying to prepare him for the changes that will come, but it's nothing like when Samuel is here for the real deal. I'm worried about HOW we will adjust as a family of 6 and how much our daily routine will change. I'm sure we will find a new normal for us. But it's a change nonetheless.
How far along are you? 35 weeks- 5 weeks left! Only 20 work days left!
How big is baby? A carton of eggs
Team Blue, Pink, Green? And name(s)? Team Blue- more than likely will be Wyatt James
Appointments this week? Regular appointment on Monday, gym on Tuesday, chiro on Wednesday
Symptoms? Nothing new really. I have more energy than I did have. Feet/hands swell depending on the day. Tight stomach. Rolling off the couch to stand. The fun stuff.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? We are having a super productive weekend. DH is painting our hall/entry today while I continue working on sub plans. Also planning to clean the washer/dryer this weekend, make a couple of freezer meals, do more general cleaning. Oh, and pack the hospital bag!
Rants/Raves/Questions: I have two work showers this week and then we get to was clothes, finish organizing, and all of that! Also, I feel like I have been putting SO MUCH effort into my maternity leave sub plans and I feel great about the progress, and then I realize that I still have over half of the term to plan, type out plans for, hyperlink everything, blah blah. It seems never ending. It will be so worth it though. And it will make things easier on me for next year.
GTKY: Are you nervous about any of the changes a new baby will bring for you, your relationship or your life in general? I'm nervous that DH is a little too positive about everything. As in, things might be a real wake up call for him. The lack of sleep, the tons of diaper changes, doing laundry way more often, him needing to pick up slack around the house/with the dog, etc. He is so excited but I'm not sure he is mentally thinking about how much of a change it will be. I am beyond excited to see him as a dad though. He has been reading books to my belly this week before bed
How big is baby? Size of a junior tennis racket or a ferret
Team Blue, Pink, Green? And name(s)? Team Green! Will either be Harper Mae or Daniel Carl
Appointments this week? Nope
Symptoms? Exhausted, hips ache, ribs hurt! Out of breath really easily.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Started looking at registries for completion coupons. Will likely order some essentials that I know we need. Thought about packing a hospital bag...but only thought about it...
Rants/Raves/Questions: While I generally feel very good, I am tired of being out of breath! At work I have to walk 2 flights of stairs after lunch duty and I feel like I could die at the top of the steps! It's terrible. I am so tired of being out of breath.
GTKY: Are you nervous about any of the changes a new baby will bring for you, your relationship or your life in general? Not really worried about much except maybe the transition for the kids. They are are used to my not being able to carry them, but I think they will get really clingy or have a hard a time realizing how attached the baby will be.
Appointments this week? None, but I do have a newborn class on Wednesday. We finished up our childbirth classes last week.
Symptoms? Getting a little more emotional than usual - think a lot can be contributed by the rainy weather though. Nipples are strangely a little sore - not sure what that's all about.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? I packed the baby's hospital bag today. Now just need to pack mine ...
Rants/Raves/Questions: Starting to get anxious about baby girl's arrival. I don't like the unknown so it's a little hard - trying to go with the flow as much as I can. Curious to see when she will make her appearance.
GTKY: Are you nervous about any of the changes a new baby will bring for you, your relationship or your life in general? Just nervous for the unknown. Change is good - I'm excited to see the positive changes baby girl will bring to our family. Also hoping my step son will adjust well - thinking he will, but it's a big change going from the only child for 11 years to sharing your dad with another baby.
Team Blue, Pink, Green? And name(s)? Nameless baby boy. He will have a name by his first birthday...if we're lucky!
Appointments this week? Chiro on Monday and regular checkup on Tuesday. DH hasn't met our new midwife yet so I'm looking forward to it!
Symptoms? Heartburn and headache are almost daily but less so on weekends. I'm guessing it's from "overdoing" it at work but I don't know how to teach...less? I am sitting more and doing less getting on and off than floor to sit with students, but that doesn't seem to matter. Mentally, the half dose of Zoloft seems to be kicking in a bit and nausea is gone. I'm feeling a bit more even-keeled and like my old self. I'm able to think beyond surviving one day at a time, which feels good. I'm going to see at my appointment if I could switch to the higher dose to have even more benefit. I'm just really nervous about the super nausea returning...I missed 3 days straight of work and was in bed for about 5 days straight from it. I can't afford to do that again.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? I measured my waist out of curiosity. I track my measurements in my workout journal so I know my pre-baby (and pre-DD) size. I've gained 12 inches around (!) this time.
Does that count as doing something?!
In all seriousness, I sent my FMLA paperwork to my midwife so I can submit to HR next week. And I started typing up long-term sub plans (PITA). I also went to my classroom for a few hours today to start cleaning and organizing for the sub. My classroom is a bit of "organized chaos." It works for me, but I have a LOT of stuff and just don't want my personal things getting messed up while I'm gone.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I ordered myself a new yoga ball for labor and it's too small! It's from Amazon so I could return but the thought of trying to get that sucker back in the box....
GTKY: Are you nervous about any of the changes a new baby will bring for you, your relationship or your life in general? Absolutely...all the time. I had such a hard time post partum with PPD that lasted well over a year and just turned into depression I've never really kicked (never suffered before having a baby). I have a game plan this time and Zoloft as mentioned above, but it's a big battle to take on. I hope to never be as low as I was.
I worry about the extra responsibility. A lot of days, it feels as if we're barely making it in terms of energy levels and our physical/mental health. How will we add caring for another human?
Sigh. I suppose it's what being a grown up is about though. We're living the life we wanted...it's just harder than I would have ever expected.
Me: 31 DH: 36 Married 5 years DD born 8/30/13 #2 expected 4/25/17
How far along are you? 33 weeks. slowly ticking off these weeks. please go faster.
How big is baby? probably almost 4.5 pounds
Team Blue, Pink, Green? And name(s)? team pink and we still aren't totally sure on names. thought we knew, Donna Louise, but DH is still hesitant about that.
Appointments this week? not this week. still doing every other so next week is my 34 week appointment. Then my next appointment at 36 weeks starts my every week appointments. whoa!
Symptoms? all of them. Seriously. Maybe this week I will actually try and write down every symptom I have had. But, on every single "this is what you might be experiencing this week" email or article I experience every bad symptom.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? found a source of income. haha! DH was offered a full time salaried job at the robotics company that he is currently working part time at. you probably all remember that he had interviewed at a brewery this week for another job. But, his boss called him today and offered him a pretty good paying job where he already works. So, we are talking about it. But, he will probably talk to him tomorrow about the details and unless there are any red flags will accept it. Next up.... looking for a place to live this week. I am really stressed out about it because we are very limited in where we can live between my doula job and his job and there are like no options. But, hopefully something will come up. So many other things we need with this job, like a 2nd car. so it is a little overwhelming... but hooray!
Also, found a going home outfit and a couple of other cute outfits for the baby. Finalizing our Amazon completion order, since our refund came in we can go ahead and get everything now. Anyone else subscribing to the Amazon diaper subscription? I think we are going to go ahead and do that this week as well.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I guess my rave is up there under preparations. That's all I got right now.
GTKY: Are you nervous about any of the changes a new baby will bring for you, your relationship or your life in general? not so much the baby as just life changes in general that are coming up. I'm not that worried about a 3 year old and newborn. After living through the last 9 months I know that I can pretty much handle anything and honestly think the next year will be a breeze compared to that. A little nervous about being able to really be there enough for both kids, but I guess if billions of other people have survived just fine than I can do it too.

How big is baby? The size of celery or as @ebloom3 said a ferret!
Team Blue, Pink, Green? And name(s)?team pink! Margaret Emma Rebecca
Appointments this week? nope, this is my off week.
Symptoms? the usual.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? well apparently my mom has planned a baby shower for me so I've given her some addresses and made a quick registry. Lol I didn't want a baby shower since my son is just 16 months old but she insist I need one since we're having a girl. Lol oh well, can't say no.
Rants/Raves/Questions: my house is a never ending wreck. Down stairs isn't bad. I try to keep it "company ready" but upstairs is awful! My bathroom needs cleaned badly but it's such a pain to clean being pregnant. The "kids bathroom" that only the 10 year old uses atm is gross. He cleans it but you know, he's 10. It's a half ass job. My dear sweet husband "forgets" to scoop the cat box until I complain. I swear they think I just sit around all day and do nothing while they work and go to school. I'm busy chasing a toddler and trying to keep the house in semi good condition. I'm just over the no help thing.
GTKY: Are you nervous about any of the changes a new baby will bring for you, your relationship or your life in general? I'm really nervous how it'll change my relationship with my youngest son. He's a total mommas boy and I'm afraid he will be really jealous. I'm also afraid I'm going to became the meanest, crankiest wife/ mom ever. I'm already annoyed that no one helps pick up I can only imagine how it'll be when this lo arrives.
@mrsstuessy such great news! If he accepts the position, but the brewery job comes through, would he take that one instead if it's better pay/benefits?
Team Blue, Pink, Green? And name(s)? pink! Eleanor Ann maybe? We don't talk about it much, so progress on the subject is minimal
Appointments this week?
NST, appt and ultrasound (I'm doing all of these weekly now. Sigh)
Symptoms? insomnia, some nausea, sciatica.......
What have you done to prepare for baby this week?
we are swapping bedrooms for DS and for baby right now(late in the game for this I know) so the nursery has more room for all the gear. Gotta love hormones making this absolutely necessary, lol
Rants/Raves/Questions:
not really. I'm just ready for LO to get here. The added stress and drama of my pregnancy care is creating quite the rift between DH and I, and I'm ready for this part to be over.
GTKY: Are you nervous about any of the changes a new baby will bring for you, your relationship or your life in general? dh has no real memory of DS as an infant- it was all a blur for him- so I'm hoping he will be a bit more understanding and compassionate towards me this time. The lack of sleep doesn't treat either one of us well, and he cannot handle a crying baby at all. He loses it.

How big is baby? A scooter board (like the ones we used in PE in elementary school-they seemed a lot bigger back then!)
Team Blue, Pink, Green? And name(s)? Green. Boy name is picked, girl needs a middle name but we won't be sharing until we meet him/her!
Appointments this week? This is my off week between appointments!
Symptoms? That first tri exhaustion and I've taken to carrying Tums in my purse again. Other than that (knock on wood) I'm feeling really good going into the home stretch
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Our completion discounts have arrived! DDs new room is almost finished so we will start moving things in soon and be able to get a good idea of exactly what we will need for this little one. That won't be for another two weeks though so for now, just growing him/her!
Rants/Raves/Questions: I mobile bump but was bored during an online class yesterday and went on the desktop site. It was fun seeing everyone's signatures! I did notice my ticker is incorrect. I had set it for my due date based on ovulation but doctor is going based on LMP. Ah well. Maybe I'll get it fixed before he/she arrives.
GTKY: Are you nervous about any of the changes a new baby will bring for you, your relationship or your life in general? I'm less worried about what the new baby will do to our relationship as I am what I may potentially do to it. DH was incredible after DD was born and I am so excited to see him in that position again. I, however, get very much in my head about things and when I'm stressed or overwhelmed, DH gets the brunt of it. I'm hoping to stay ahead of it as much as I can because he in no way deserves to be on the receiving end of what I've decided to bottle up. As for DD, she loves babies so I'm looking forward to her understanding that this baby will be staying with us forever.
@KirstinH88 It is great! He unofficially said yes to his boss today at church. We are friends from church. And tomorrow has the official meeting to discuss details. The benefits would definitely be better at the brewery, but the pay is so much better at the robotics job that it makes up for the not as great benefits. So, I think we have to go with that job. Tomorrow we find out all the benefit details and stuff.

DS is still in diapers, so we get 2 boxes a month- one box for the LO and one for DS, and a box of wipes. I am pretty much stocked ahead now with diapers for LO.
