I'm registered for the Lillebaby Complete All Seasons. I've done enough research that I think its the best fit for me & DH. I also registered for the Boba wrap for more casual settings.
I've got a Moby and an original Ergo - considering a K'Tan Breeze for the early weeks given the Moby is quite warm and takes a bit of time to put on, and the Ergo with the infant insert is also ridiculously hot (and never felt "stable" to me). A lot of this comes down to your own comfort level - the Moby scared me a bit given it requires me to be a fabric ninja (but YouTube videos helped), but some people adore it and other wrap-like carriers.
I love my Lillebaby all seasons so much. It can be worn front or back and the baby can face inward or outward (with their legs and hips in a healthy position, unlike a lot of outward facing carriers). The all seasons one also has a zip up/down option to have either full warmer fabric or soft supportive mesh on the outside depending on the temperature. Except for that feature, which is great, it's very similar to an ergo 360, except it has a clip buckle type belt instead of Velcro, which is easier to put on the same tightness consistently once you set it and also can come of quietly if the baby falls asleep in it. It also can be used with a newborn (although i preferred a wrap the first couple months. Dh used the Lillebaby from the beginning though), and it still works with dd now at 16 months. The belt has good cushioning and a back support thing that is really nice, and the shoulder straps are really comfortable, too. It is also easy to adjust the tightness of the straps and belt when the other parent had used it last. I'm a big fan. For the newborn stage, I loved my boba wrap last time, but I think that will be too hot for summer. I'm looking at buying a Solly. But like I said, my husband used the Lillebaby from day one, it just felt a little bulky to me until dd was slightly bigger.
We registered for the Lillebaby All Seasons as well! At some point I was going back and forth between that and the ergo baby with infant insert but quite honestly I didn't want to have to buy extra pieces and spend more money for almost the same thing.
I have a couple Kinderpack's and love the comfort! I started with an Ergo, which wasn't very comfortable. I would recommend checking into a local babywearing group. They generally have a library of stuff you can try on and have lots of knowledge.
@keniialise I will admit that the Lillebaby has intrigued me too - if you were looking for something for a newborn (and would be happy to keep using it longer), would you go K'Tan Breeze or Lillebaby All Seasons? (I'm also thinking about June/July in the Northeast which is pretty sticky!)
I have a ring sling (Sakura Bloom), a Tula, an onbuhimo that was made with a piece from a wrap I own, and several wraps (mostly size 4 and 6). I use the ring sling primarily in the infant stage and then once they get a little older depending on where we are and what we're doing the Tula, onbuhimo, and wraps.
I bought the breeze for the newborn stage, and it was just okay. I didn't actually get the lillebaby until we were already way past this stage, but this next baby I will be using the lillebaby from the very start and skipping the ktan altogether.
I should also mention I'm in Texas where it's hot as heck in the summer, I'll still choose the lillebaby.
I have an Ergo and a woven wrap. I hated the Ergo. It just never seemed as secure as the wrap and I thought it was a pain to put on and take off. Once DD got older she preferred the Ergo though. The Ergo infant insert is incredibly hot and I would skip it all together. I bought it because DD was born at the end of October and I still felt like it was too hot and never used it. I also feel like a woven wrap will be too hot for summer. I was going to go with the Ktan breeze, but now I'm questioning it. If I didn't like the Ergo what are the chances I'd like the Lillebaby all seasons?
I liked the ktan for the tiny stage. Then I loved the ergo (with and without insert) until I got a tula. For me the tula is way better. I am petite so the shoulder straps fit better. I keep one in each car. I used them both all the time for hiking and daily use. This time I also want a ring sling. I had a water/mesh one last time but it was too slippery. Does anyone know if the ergo insert is ok to use with the tula or should I get the tula specific insert?
I'm registering for a wrap and an ergo. I don't really care about brands with the wrap. I don't like the ktan because I want me or H or whoever to be able to wear it, and the ktan is sized. I have a lot of friends who like wraps when the baby is smaller and an ergo for older. Everyone I know who has a baby loves their ergos.
Any recommendation on hiking backpack carriers? I'm going to be looking into one of those because we do a lot of hiking.
PSA: if you get an Ergobaby second-hand/eBay/etc please be aware there is a huge counterfeit market (i.e. No safety testing)!!!
I don't know if the same is true for other carriers or not, but I discovered this accidentally when a friend gave me her Ergo (that she got secondhand and never used). I was trying to figure out which model it was and a bunch of articles about how to spot a "Fergo" kept coming up. I read like 7 of them and the counterfeits are so similar that I legitimately couldn't tell even after checking all their "telltale signs". I took photos and emailed Ergobaby directly and was told within a day that it was indeed a counterfeit, and they offered me a discount code if I decide to buy a real one.
I have an ergo 360 already. Loved that for when baby is older. i didn't really carry my first much but just ordered a wild bird ring sling. They are beautiful and look so easy to use.
For those of you who hated the k'tan, can you say why you didn't like it? I'm looking to using it for the baby stage because it looks much easier to use than other wraps. Please say what wasn't so great.
I have a ktan active I got used and am planning to use during the newborn stage just around the house, I want to do a lot of skin to skin so I will probably wear it without a shirt. I bought a ring sling for out of the house too that I'm excited to try. And I plan on using our ergo again. I love my ergo! Dh used it a lot too and he is built very big and I'm petite so it was nice to only need one. We only used it from 6 months on and never had a problem. She got really good at nursing in it too which was nice for errands.
I'm an FTM, so I don't have any experience with my carriers yet. I bought a secondhand Maya ring sling and a new classic Ergo when Target had a gift card promotion.
The packaging for the Ergo made it seem like a newborn insert wasn't necessary. Thoughts? I know @mirdamae03 suggested a blanket.

They need the insert (or equivalent) under 12 lbs and until they are properly positioned height wise. You want to be able to kiss their head. The insert or blanket also keeps their legs properly positioned.

My main problem was DS' dislike of it. He hated that he couldn't look all around and over my shoulder while in it, and just has never liked being held super snugly. He has always liked having wiggle room! I believe it is easier than other wraps, and I wish that it had worked for us! It may work fine for you.
I have an ergo, a lillebaby all seasons, a ring sling, moby, and a kelty hiking backpack carrier. With my DD I used the ergo the most but it was hot and didn't support my back. I hated the moby, I never felt like she was secure in it. We got the kelty for hiking the Grand Canyon and it's great for longer hikes, not so much for everyday use. I got the Lille and sling in preperation for this baby.
I can't do the wraps - they are too fussy for me. I just got a k'tan active to hopefully use this summer when she is tiny, then I will go back to using my good old Boba 3G carrier that I love. This is the Boba:

I was gifted the Babybjorn 2016 Baby Carrier One - has anyone used this before? If people have problems/complaints I am considering getting one that has been more favorably reviewed.
Thank you for posting this! I spent a couple of hours last night reading reviews and pros/cons of baby carriers, and it is so overwhelming. I registered for the K'tan Breeze, and have now also added the Lillebaby All Seasons from all of your suggestions. The Texas heat has been a big factor in my decision. Hopefully at least one of them will work out.
I can't recommend the Lillebaby Complete All Seasons enough, it worked great with DD. I started using it when she was about 6 weeks, though technically it would work earlier. She was about 12lbs at the time.
This time I really want something good for skin to skin for the very beginning...anyone have experience with the Nesting Days carrier? I'm planning to order it when my bonus check comes in in a few weeks. I also have some questions about the Boba Air if anyone has any input - it looks better for throwing in a diaper bag and having for when we're out and about. However, I really would like to use it at Disney World in September, and it says the baby has to be 15lbs to be in it...DD was absolutely 15lbs at 3 months (she was off the top of the weight chart for a while) but I know that she was enormous and #2 might not get that big so fast. It's going to be warm out so I'm not sure if I want to be wearing the Lillebaby because it's bulky. I think it would be fine for the baby, she wouldn't be too warm in it, but I might be too warm wearing it.
I have a KTan that I use for the first few months. I love it. It's so easy to throw on and I learned how to nurse in it too. Then I move to an ergo. I used my ergo a ton. It does hurt my back after a long wear but I think anything will because I just have a bad back. I would love to buy a Tula but I'm not into Spendinf anymore money since I have 2 that work.
Since you asked for pics
don't worry I didn't drive like this. He was born in November so I put it on in the car before we got out.
I love the idea, but I feel like you would need 3 or something because wouldn't you need to wash it more? With breastmilk leaks and spit up and all that? I don't know.
This really is such a personal preference. I couldn't stand the feel of any soft structured carrier, and I tried several. I ended up loving the Moby wrap for comfort and when he grew out of those I got a nice woven wrap. (actually several, they are addicting) To me the comfort was worth the extra time it took to wrap instead of being able to buckle. My husband on the other hand can wear any type of carrier Ergo, Tula, wrap, etc. he could care less. Pic because this is one of my faves.

Probably but they are so expensive and I think they are only good for newborns so it wouldn't be used long term. I think this would be awesome to wear around the house since I have 2 toddlers at home too. I'd probably just wash it every couple days lol.
I noticed a lot of you only used the k'tan for when they were very small. Can you use the k'tan with bigger/older babies?? We registered for one (DH and I should be able to use the same size) and we were thinking we would mostly use it at home. When out we will use the travel system. My friend has an Ergo I might ask if I can use if I need something different.
@alm52386 Ive found that you loose a lot of support around 13-15 pounds with something like that, so yeah eventually you would want to consider a different option.
Re: Baby Carriers
I also have a grey Boba wrap that I bought before we were even matched.
I also really like this ring sling, from Tula, that I'm considering purchasing.
