  • @kvruns - luck is what I use on the not being peed on front. But he does have a clear tell that he's going to pee as the hole dilates moments before so I know to duck or grab a nearby wash cloth. And my LO doesn't scream when his clothes are coming off, but rather being put on. I dread the onesie as he screams the moment I put a hand into the sleeve. And once it's on he does this adorably pathetic sniffle and cuddle like I tortured him.

  • We use the wipe trick on our son too. Just place a wipe over his penis if there will be any significant amount of time between diapers.. Otherwise he doesn't pee too often anymore during changes.
  • LO has been up since 7:30 without a nap by his own device. I just put him down for the second time and am keeping my fingers crossed but this doesn't usually work.

Hes also 12 weeks today so I received TB update email and how depressing! It says he should be eating every 3-4 hours and I'm still working with an every 2 hours as his demand! Ugh.

  • @SandNStarsNJ I didn't go through that with E, but maybe he's eating from habit now and not necessarily always hunger. I wonder if he'd adjust if you tried to stretch it out to 3 hours, distracting him with swing/playmat/bath/whatever (or letting him fuss it out). Have you asked your pediatrician about it?
  • @SandNStarsNJ I'm right there with you. If I'm running errands or just in the car he will sleep or be content to go 3ish hours but at home he is closer to every 2 hours.

It's this exactly. The pediatrician is concerned. Though toting a 12 week old that is 20lbs is killing my back.

I'm trying to stretch them out and encourage routine napping when I can but man does he like to set his own schedule.

  • @SandNStarsNJ my last kid (who was exclusively breast fed) was like this too. My other two were formula fed and they were closer to 3-4 hour feedings. But like I just fed him around 115 and he is sitting next to me happy and smiling at his sisters but if I tried to put him down right now he'd be pissed.. and I pick my oldest up off the bus at 315 and he will eat again once we get home.. if I tried to do anything with him at that point he'd have none of it.
  • Thank god the sloppy braid is in style. I washed my hair, threw it in a braid two days ago, and got compliments on it this morning. I like to think of this as an exhausted mom win.

  • I wish my hair was long enough to do this. I have fine hair so it's usually no longer than my shoulders now. I remember rocking this look in high school though and I miss it! Now it's either styled or in a pony with a ton of bobby pins.
  • Has anyone else noticed a sudden uptick in spit up? M never used to spit up but he has suddenly been spitting up like crazy. He's not upset or in pain as far as I can tell. It's so gross and I inevitably end up wearing it...
  • @MrsMaryK2016 Nick has what I refer to as loaded burps... will he spit up? Maybe. Will it be just a small amount, or enough to warrant me to change my outfit or his?... let's find out! I find myself instinctively flexing away from him when he burps, or suddenly holding him with outstretched arms.
  • @MrsMaryK2016 mine started spitting up about a month ago. Some days it's really bad. We go through a ton of bibs and some outfits (both of us). For us it seems to be 1-2 hours after eating. He'll do some when he burps right after eating but then it's 1-2 hours later and a bunch comes out sometimes

I've been having a tougher week this week -sometimes feeling pretty unsure. I felt like feeding was going really well, and now he's pulling off every two seconds and so I question whether I'm understanding his feeding cues. He's sleeping so much less, and being so much more vocal when upset. But I'm also trying to realize that this is motherhood, and that these changes are likely an indication that he is learning and growing. It's hard not to worry that I'm doing something wrong or that he is sick or hurting! It's also all too easy to look at the negatives instead of the positives. Even though he's sleeping less, he's starting to fall asleep on his own. He is smiling and chatting with us, and showing new skills everyday. I am trying so hard to see the positives! Just a reminder to you all in case you are feeling the same way, we got this! Sorry if this isn't the most eloquent, I'm tired and it's chaotic over here!
  • @desoky01 how old is your LO? Maybe it's a growth spurt or a major neurological developmental leap.

  • I think he is going through a leap. He's 13 weeks, but he was a week late so I think he hits the leaps a week or so earlier. He seems to change a little more each night, it's wild! Thankfully he slept better last night.
