Re: Randoms! 2/13

• @longliveregina is amazingly rational....I need you to come whisper in my ear when my hormones make me crazy haha

@kjd291 I'm sorry that DH is not being helpful! I can't imagine! Sounds like you guys need to have a sit down, "come to Jesus" on the support you need right now and once baby girl arrives!

• @longliveregina That is exactly what I have to do with my DH too!!! Even then he grumbles sometimes but at least it gets done and I don't have to keep asking!

• @npaulie you & that print are both super adorable!!

I think I need to start asking my husband to do more things around the house. He does the trash and the laundry (except for putting my stuff away and except last week when I did it and the washer broke and he blamed me for it lol) but never cooks, never cleans, never has even loaded/unloaded the dishwasher (he always piles stuff up in the sink and then must assume they clean themselves and magically end up back in the cabinet??) but is constantly saying "I should do more around the house...." so maybe just maybe I'll make more demands on him and say "but this was YOUR idea to help out more, remember darling?" ;)

• Good luck today @sunshine507 I love the chiropractor! Didn't know they could make adjustments that help with breech babies though!

• @Gators&BoSox I hear you! People really want to make specific plans according to when the baby comes. Except if it's natural no one can! Before my mom finally booked a flight, she asked numerous times, well are you sure that's a good date for me to come? I had to say a million times, Mom I can't predict when the baby's coming, just book a flight. The other option is to wait til the baby is born and pay more money for a flight.

You can move close to me and watch football this fall. I'm working on going to the opening game against Michigan.
• @disneybaby84 it would be nice to have people to watch college ball with again! opening day would be awesome. they are supposed to be pretty good this year so we shall see!
• Not sure if this was mentioned yet but I saw this on babies r us website today. Recall for the Britax B-Agile and BOB Motion Strollers with Click & Go receivers. Just a heads up if anyone bought one of these.
• UGH i have that Britax stroller! And I bought a bunch of bases to go with it! Not happy about having to replace it this late in the game!!

If it's a recall the company should replace it for you, yes?

@newmommyZ
Btw, what specifically is the recall for? (like, if it's "this tiny piece may break off and could potentially maybe sometime pose a choking hazard" I might consider not replacing it lol)

• @longliveregina I think so but it makes me not trust that brand now... I have to look further into it, but it sounds like in accidents have been that the carseat falls out of the stroller... :#

Kind of a big problem considering the whole appeal of a travel system stroller is clicking the car seat in place. :s

• I registered all of my major products like car seats and strollers for recall stuff and I'm glad I did because they sent me an email. I clicked the link for them to send me a remedy kit. The only thing is I put in our current address foolishly thinking they'd ship it out by next week. Nope, arriving within 10-14 weeks. :/ Oops. We'll have been long gone by then. It sounds like the issue stems from constantly folding and storing the stroller with the car seat mounts still attached, which over time causes it to fail. @jenny0228 I understand your mistrust with the brand now, but also understand that lots of trusted brands periodically have recalls. As long as they notify the public and send replacement parts it should all be fine. Britax is still an excellent brand in my opinion.
• I got the call around noon from my sitter that my 3 year old has lice. FML. Raced home, got some rx shampoo from the ped and now getting ready to scour my house. Preschool is greaaaaat.
• Ugh that sounds awful @hippiemama! Love sending my daughter to preschool, don't love everything that comes home with her.

• @hippiemama NOOOOOO. I'm so so so sorry you have to deal with that.

My roomate had lice in college. I had to pick through her hair every night for weeks. Worst. Thing. Ever. I can't imagine dealing with it with a little one. Prayers it disappears fast and daycare can get rid of it spreading ASAP.
• I got invited to a 1 year old's bday party this weekend. Does anyone have suggestions/insights as to what would be a good gift for a 1 year old? Not sure what they're into at that stage.

You can never go wrong with books. That's normally what I bring to one year old parties. My son loves the Little Blue Trucks books, as well as the Llama Llama series.

@npaulie I agree with books .. Melissa and Doug puzzles... I try to get toys that are labeled for 18 months or maybe 24 so they can grow into them.. anything that makes noise and blinks lol
• @kiyamurph true - even my Jeep had a recall on a part and I still drive it, so many brands go through recalls. That stinks that it takes so long to receive it and you have the change of address to worry about!

@hippiemama sorry about the lice that sounds like such a pain! My nieces both had it this year since it was going around the school- hope it gets out of your house fast!!
• @npaulie I try to stay away from toys - most kids have more than enough. Honestly, we have enough books too. Puzzles are great - the wooden Melissa and Doug ones for sure.

At one year old my kiddo liked balls, nesting bowls or blocks, and taking all the kleenexes out of the box one at a time. My favorite toy he has from that age is actually a set of nesting silver mixing bowls, like the old school kind. They are shiny and look pretty and make fun noises and can be stacked.

I have to totally disagree with Gators though: for the love of all things peaceful and holy, don't buy anything that makes noises or blinks. Or takes batteries at all, lol.

• I second nesting blocks/cups as a good little toy.
• @longliveregina it's for the connectors from the stroller to the car seat. The company is sending replacement parts for that at no charge.

@kiyamurph do you have a single or double stroller? They said just 3 weeks on my single.

• @pandalily I have a single. It's a model from 2013 so I'm not sure if that makes a difference?? 10-14 weeks is insane though. I'm actually selling my single stroller since we're getting the double, but it looks like I'll just have to sell it without the replacement mounts.
• hahaha snow plows... DS has been watching them out the window with fascination
