@adirat and @haylsbayls I was totally captivated by the Amanda Knox case! There is a show on Netflix about it. It seems pretty heavily biased but still interesting. One of the reporters that covered her trial was on it and completely shameless.
What was crazy to me about the Amanda Knox trial is that because she wasn't "likable" that made her guilty. Even in the interviews she's definitely a little weird but that doesn't mean she's a murderer.

Yes! There wasn't a shred of evidence against her but because she didn't behave the way they wanted her to she was a cold blooded murderer.
I treated myself to Artichoke Pizza for dinner (to accompany my pre-'Teachers' Chris Pratt movie fest) and it's WAY too much food. My appetite has been down the past few days since I've been sick, but even at my hungriest this would have been too much.
I might cut my pizza into little squares for lunch tomorrow. I also have enough breadsticks to feed an army. I might let them get stale and then make French Onion soup to put them in. The possibilities are endless when you're trying to distract yourself.

Because I grew up in Wisconsin, I got really into the Making a Murderer series. If you haven't seen it, I would recommend checking it out! I just hope I don't run into the wrong side of the police department in Manitowoc County.

Hmmm. Interesting. I'm on the fence about his guilt, but I felt terrible for his nephew. Like how in the hell can you question a minor who has a clear disability with no parent and/or legal representation?!! Andplusalso he shouldn't have been on trial for the rape in the 70's. That was just BS.

Sorry, busy day! I'm undecided about Amanda Knox. I go back and forth on it. I haven't watched the Netflix special but I've watched a couple of documentaries on it (plus the lifetime movie!!). You should all look into Ryan Ferguson. My DH went to high school with him. I think he did it. He went to jail for ten years and then got acquitted. Though his friend is still in jail! It drives me crazy because if one of them did it, they both did. Every time I meet a new one of DHs high school friends, I bring it up and it's amazing how half think he's guilty, and half don't. I love a good mystery!

Did anyone listen to the first Serial? It took place like 30 mins from me and my friend actually works with Stephanie's mom - she asked her about the case and she said they don't talk about that time in their lives.
@hartmich I did listen to Serial and I really enjoyed it. There was a spin off podcast called Undisclosed that went into more detail. The podcast was started by Arabia, a sister of one of Adnan's friends. It was super dry but sooo good.
@hartmich I loved that season of Serial. Whether or not he did it, there was no where near enough evidence to convict. I would be terrified if I were ever wrongfully accused of something because that jury put so much stock in bullshit evidence and testimony, and didn't do any critical thinking about it. Like "Hmmm...could this dude who is getting a deal in exchange for testimony be telling the truth?" So even if I were innocent, a jury could be ignorant enough of the law and reasonable doubt to convict me.
I started the second season about Bergdahl and it was very compelling but I keep forgetting to finish it. That one also started to piss me off because of the deaths and injuries sustained during the search for him, when even the people searching knew he wasn't in Afghanistan anymore. Such a waste.

@redpuma119 I did listen to some of those! Definitely made him seem innocent.
@eggplantface I'm still really on the fence on whether he did it or not - I'd be very convinced he didn't do it if there were some other theory that really made sense. And I would give Jay a million dollars to tell the truth about what really happened that day! Also, I didn't love Bergdahl one... you could tell she wanted us to feel sorry for him and while I do think that he shouldn't have been cleared to even be in the military anymore, what he did doesn't make any sense. He took what seemed like a minor issue with the higher ups and had a way over the top reaction.
@hartmich Yeah I felt like it was the plan of a typical young, immature, feeling-invincible 20-year-old. Because really? You're gonna go walk around alone in Afghanistan and think you can survive? C'mon, man. I didn't get the sense she wanted us to feel sorry for him though, I did think she tried to tell the story in an unbiased way. She detailed harsh conditions and all (which had me thinking "cry me a river"), but the episode where she interviewed the servicemembers who had to go out hunting for him told the other side, that he had brought it all on himself. Then again I haven't finished it so I should reserve judgment on biases until then.

@mtgirlcoworld@eggplantface If you guys liked Serial, you might also like "In the Dark". I do feel like the first season of Serial spoiled me because it was so well put together and organized. I haven't found one that's quite as good yet.
@hartmich Gimlet media does a really good job. One of the owners used to work at NPR and he has really high standard for the media they put out. They don't really have true crime stuff tho. Thanks for the recommendation I will check it out!

Did anyone read Big Little lies? They turned it into a tv series that starts this Sunday. I'm ridiculously excited because I loved the book. And they cast Alexander Skarsgard as a character and that's who I had in my head the entire time I was reading it. Super excited!!

You should totally do it! If only to let the person being dumb know that there are tons of people who think they're being dumb.

I'm super excited for tomorrow! We got a free night at the four seasons hotel. So we got a sitter and are heading there tomorrow. Going out for a leisurely lunch, drink champagne in the hot tub, and having dinner at a crab house restaurant. Seriously so excited!!
I'm going to get coffee (and maybe pancakes! lol) with my sister tonight. She's the only one that knows we're ttc (other than DH's BFF which is like a brother to him) and though we talk everyday via chat I haven't actually seen her months. Super excited! plus...

Grrr. I was supposed to hear back about my HCG levels today. However, at some point late morning I remembered my doctor saying "call me tomorrow to get your results and let me know how you're doing." Umm... Aren't you supposed to call me, not the other way around? Especially since it's not like I could just call and get be put through to the doctor. It's always you leave a message and the doctor calls you back. Annoying, but whatever...So I call and get the usual "I'll take your message and let the doctor know you called and have her call you back".
I just tried to follow up. The office closed two hours ago. No call back.
I'm so annoyed. I would assume no news is good news, but I mean, really?
