Monday Bitchfest 2/13

Re: Monday Bitchfest 2/13

  • Despite the fact that I haven't gained any weight yet, I feel so incredibly fat that I can't take it. I don't look remotely pregnant. I just look like my fat is making a migration to my mid section and it feels terrible.

That is a very good point @Texafornian.  For the sake of all others, I braved the flush by kicking it with my foot and made a run for it... I didn't want an residual situations to come splashing out.  I hope it went down.  Barf.
Funny you mention that...makes me think of this time when I REALLY had to pee at a Baja Fresh Mexican food place in Los Angeles. I went in to the bathroom (one room with door) and someone had taken a dump but the damn toilet wouldn't flush!! I hovered and peed anyway...then when I opened the door there was a line waiting. First in line was friggin JUSTINE BATEMAN!! I was like omg..."the toilet totally won't flush...I did NOT do that!" Gah...was mortified.

I hate florida. I've been in FL for 5 years...i enjoyed living in south florida, but have been in the panhandle for almost 3 years and i cannot wait to leave. Soooo done.
What don't you like about the panhandle? Don't worry, you won't hurt my feelings because I didn't grow up here, but since I moved to Pensacola 6 years ago, I have loved it!

  • @mrsmgsee other than the beach theres nothing to do here and I feel so isolated like its not easy to get anywhere from here other than NOLA. Its so pricey to fly anywhere from Pensacola or Ft Walton. Have to drive to Alabama for concerts etc.

I'm from Virginia Beach originally and am used to being able to take a day trip to anywhere on the eastern seaboard. 6hrs to NYC, 3.5 hrs to DC, 6hrs to Charlotte, 7hrs to Myrtle Beach. drive 2 hrs to wine country and 5hrs to skiing. And flights are cheap to go anywhere.  I guess I'm just used to a more get up and go lifestyle with many more options of things to do.
  • @ColoradoHiker I'm so glad y'all are ok!
  • My DS who is 4 decided to throw up all over my bed last night and not to mention all over the bathroom floor and carpet just before.  It was the most vomit I have ever seen! I had to call my DH home from work last night so he could get the carpet cleaner out and bleach the bathroom floor. IT WAS EVERYWHERE!  Needless to say we did not go back to sleep till 2:30AM.

@daniellelynette @amandare @Basherbaby Thanks ladies.  Everything is fine, I just had the pants scared off of me.  I'm good at focusing on problems and not letting emotions get to me in the moment, but this was just a lot.  I keep reminding myself we're fine, but it didn't stop me from being nervous every time we got in the car yesterday.

@JustBored10 I feel you.  DS got the stomach bug a few weeks ago, and it was like a scene from the Exorcist.  Once he started, he just didn't quit.  I hope your DS is feeling better today!

It's officially been 4 days since I have breastfed my DS and I'm a mixed bag of emotions over here.  Happy because I have my boobs back, sad because I miss those sweet snuggles with my baby boy, and also irritated because it feels like I fell chest first onto a treadmill

DD is on a bit of a nursing strike today- she just doesn't seem interested. I thought it would be really emotional, but I'm kind of ok with it. I would like to have my boobs to myself for a minute before this baby comes around.
  • @amandarene112 I am in Lake Forest so not horribly far depending on traffic! If we get a SD Zoo membership we will definitely start making trips down that way. And probably for Comic Con if DH gets tickets.
  • @lahearn18 I live in the same neighborhood he's staying in! The Gaslamp is a dangerous place to stay! It's the touristy area with tons of bars and restaurants, but like I said, everyone there thinks you getting drunk is a great idea.

Also, my DH was hungover at work a few weeks ago after a weekday birthday party for a coworker, and I told him the same thing. He gets no sympathy from me! He should know by now that he can't drink and recover the same way he could at 25. Not my problem, hombre!
We just got back from San Diego and stayed in the gas lamp district! All the websites said to stay in that area because of all the restaurants and close proximity to things. Glad I read this after we came back. Why is it dangerous? There were tons of homeless people a couple streets up.
We also weren't too happy with the private street parties until 1am 2 out of our 4 nights right outside of our hotel. So sounds like y'all like to party there ha. But anyways, we had a great trip! Went to the zoo, the safari park, the children's museum, the aquarium, Coronado island, and La Jolla! All in 3 days ha.
  • @jessieR358 It's not physically dangerous, it's dangerous because of all the bars and how lax people are about alcohol down here. It's just party central, that's all. The homeless people downtown actually tend to be less threatening than in some other neighborhoods.

Hey when are you going down there to see him? Props to you on the 50% lingerie bag, I haven't bought lingerie since my wedding. Mostly because I got pregnant a week after the wedding but whatever. It would look like garbage on me now anyway.

That was someone else who is in a LDR with her fiance on the sex board. DH gets home in 3 weeks. If it wasnt for this school they sent him to right now he woulda been able to come home over this past weekend just for the weekend, but he was sent to a school he had to report to this morning...but i do have some lingerie I plan to sport when he gets home. They are the babydoll style so they dont cling at all. I'm not a thin girl to begin with and I'm just so blah feeling lately so imma show off the tatas and be discreet about the rest haha.
I'm flying out at 6an. Hahaha. So excited. I'm not feeling all that sexy myself but distance makes the heart grow fonder and hopefully he doesn't remember every exact detail before this bloat haha.

  • @lahearn18 we are very close to El Toro High. We actually back to Serrano Intermediate which has been a lesson learned. If you like peace and quite during the day, don't back to a school  :s
  • @Carebella i can only imagine! Lesson noted!
  • @ColoradoHiker I would not have been able to hold it together. Jeez. I'm so glad you all are ok!

@stephy_p I was just saying this to DH. All of a sudden my stomach popped a few days ago. It's definitely not baby and at both of my appointments I lost a couple of pounds, so it has to be bloat. So gross.

  • @Texafornian i love Dana Point! So pretty there!!! We went to Chart House for dinner there once!!
  • I obviously know about post partum depression but was wondering if first trimester depression is a thing? This is my second child, we tried for five months to get pregnant and were so excited to get out bfp! However this pregnancy has been so different than my first and I have to admit I (and definitely my husband) have not been taking it so well! My first was a breeze and didn't slow me down at all. I guess since I wasn't expecting any different with my second pregnancy is why I'm having such a hard time. I feel for women that suffer severe nausea and fatigue through most of their pregnancies, you women are rock stars! I'm mostly struggling because I have headaches, mild nausea, and extreme fatigue. I use up all of my energy in the morning getting me and DD ready for the day and going to work. I work half days, so my hubby is used to me getting all of the house stuff done. It's been hard in him because he works long hours and then comes home to pack wood, do laundry and dishes. I just feel like I'm not pulling my weight and realize how much energy I need just to take care of DD. I know this first trimester fatigue will go away eventually but then I'll have two to take care of (again so happy) but worried about being able to do it all! I want four kids too and hubby is like no way! I'm just going to hope these are temporary feelings and I can get over feeling sorry for myself. I've also realized that if I want more kids I need to stay at home! Last week I bled for a day and was so disappointed and sad. I went on bed rest and it stopped. We saw our little baby and the heartbeat and were so relieved. I was hoping it would shake my hubby enough for him to realize I need to take it easy and he needs to help out more, sadly he hasn't
  • @Toshandbaby I have been feeling exactly the same way. It's so hard. I am trying to remember this is temporary. I agree with @Becky012016 about talking to your doctor about it. I plan to do the same. FX you start feeling better. Hopefully the rest of the 1st trimester will be a little easier on you.

  • @Toshandbaby During my last pregnancy I had really bad depression/anxiety. I had wanted a baby so
much and finally through IVF we were able to conceive twins. I could not understand why I felt so down when this was all I wanted for so long.  I also had never had a history of depression/anxiety. I talked to my doctor about it and went to see an antepartum counselor which helped out so much. So far this pregnancy I have been feeling ok, but have sought out resources already just in case I need them. I hope you feel better!
  • @Toshandbaby Sending hugs your way. I wish I had good advice.

  • Came home from an okay zoo day with a friend and our kids to find my dog had gross-pooed all over my house.  DD refused her nap, and the dog just puked in his bed.  I'm never going to the zoo again.

I really felt the same as you shortly after getting my BFP. This one has definitely affected me more than my first. (I was 18 and felt invincible when I got pregnant. Fast forward to 27 and it is muuuuch harder on me lol.) I have had bouts of depression and for a few weeks I did a lot less housework.

Dont beat yourself up about it! Hopefully the next trimester will treat you much more kindly! i would definitely talk to your doctor about the depression. There may be something they can do for you that will help you.

    Hope you feel better soon.
  • @Toshandbaby With all the hormones swirling around I your body, depression and anxiety are definitely possible. I definitely recommend talking to a professional! I struggled with depression and anxiety for a number of years, and a good therapist was the best thing I ever did for myself.

  • So I started a new job about 3 weeks ago. The husband and wife are owners and I'm the only employee.
The husband gives me the sameness hour long speech (rant) every single day.
Today he was at it again when the phone rang and he told me to "go ahead and answer that."
Answered the call, let him know who had called then it was quiet so I went back to working on a power point he had me doing.
All of a sudden he's yelling from the hall asking what I'm doing. I told him, but apparently he hadn't been done talking before the phone ran get so he proceeds to yell at me for walking away while he was talking and how much I was disrespecting him. In addition, he throw some in "I think maybe you just don't trust me or respect me because I remind you of your daddy." Then tells me he doesn't want to talk to me anymore because I "pissed him off".
Currently working my network to find a new job because that's just unacceptable behavior in my book.
TLDR my boss said I don't like him because I have daddy issues.
  • @MrsJessS  WTF?!? Did the wife hear this? That is so bizarre... I would definitely be looking for somewhere else to work.

  • @HollyGolightly09 nope we were alone in the building! Definitely looking for something different asap
  • @MrsJessS That is so unacceptable! Has he treated you this way the 3 weeks you have been there so far?
  • @MrsJessS that's crazy!!!  I would high tail it out of there. I would have had some choice words for him if he said I had daddy issues. That's totally unacceptable. What a creep.
I stood up to a horrible guy that hired me a couple years back. I gathered up my things after a week, took them with me at the end of the day and never went back. Luckily there was no contract so I sent him a letter saying that was my notice of termination.

Im really annoyed by how many people bother me on my lunch break. I have a sign up and my lights are out. Please read people!!!! Lord.
  • @MrsJessS That is so bizarre an unprofessional! I worked in a business owned and ran by a married couple for several years, and it can get so awkward when they owner's personal stuff gets dragged into work. I wasn't their only employee, but I would often be alone in the store with just one or both of them, and they would often fight, yelling at each other over the phone or across the store. It was so awkward! I'm glad you're looking for another job before it gets too out of control!

  • @MrsJessS girl I would be RUNNING out of there!
