Your noahs ark shower was so cute! Love the pokey puppy as a guest book idea. And the cake looks amazing!

Was there a theme? No theme-Just lots of pink and frilly things
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. Absolutely! I'm really not a fan of being the center of attention but everybody mingled well and seemed to enjoy their time. Plus we didn't play any games which is fine by me lol
What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part, if applicable? Favorite part aside from seeing everybody was seeing the entire thing come together. Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. It was exactly what I was hoping for and more. I wanted a small intimate shower with my closest friends. I do not have any family in state but was lucky to have my mom come to visit and throw a lovely party for me. It's hard to imagine she planned everything long distance and then traveled with it and put it all together, including the food AND cake the day before. Talk about a Wonder Woman!
What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part, if applicable? My mom and I love to craft and bake. Even though the shower was for me, I had a wonderful time working with my mom the day before. She did most of the work herself but I did get to put together a few things, like make the cake toppers and the games and prizes. It was nice to work and chat and dream about what baby peanut will be like. Also, spending the afternoon of the shower with my favorite ladies. I felt very loved!Any pictures you want to share? Yes! The games/decor and dessert table. Sorry for the many photos but I just had to show off the hard work my mom did. Favorite/interesting gifts? I was given so many wonderful giftsbut a few that stood out included a gift basket full of unique and quirky clothes including an ACDC tee shirt and a bib with Justin Timberlake on it that reads 'cry me a river' LOL.

Not to mention the cake/dessert table was so nicely done. My sister also made homemade bath bombs that looked like mini-Earths which were adorable and smelled amazing!
Favorite/interesting gifts? Handmade mobile by my sister, Michael Kohrs diaper bag!, handmade quilt by my best friend, handmade letters of the baby's name
Advice for other moms with upcoming showers? If you can, get lots of sleep the night before! Opening gifts is a lot more tiresome than it seems! Also, make sure you walk around smiling the entire time, especially while opening gifts. People will take several candid photos of you, and you don't want to get caught with resting b*tch face!
It's been a really long week around here so been away from the boards.
When was your shower? Last weekend- Saturday, January 14
How many people attended? Approx 40
What did you wear? A navy blue number with a red floral print
Was there a theme? Woodland/Adventure
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Better than I expected! It was perfect!
What was your favorite part? Being surround by our family and friends. We definitely felt very loved that day. I came home and just cried, because I was so overwhelmed by emotion. Oh, and the food! Everything was yummy!
Any pictures you want to share? All of the pictures are on our camera still, but I do have 1 of the cake/cupcakes my mom made. It was a huge hit!
Favorite/interesting gifts? We got a set of small decorative blocks that have the baby's name on them that got me a little worked up and teary eyed.
Advice for other moms with upcoming showers? Enjoy your day Mama's! Don't stress about the little things... even if you're planning it yourself. Just soak up the love!
What did you wear? A blue dress with black tights and boots
Was there a theme? Peter Rabbit
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. It was a really good day- unfortunately not as many friends could make it as I would of liked, including one of my best friends but we still had a good turn out and I felt really loved!
What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part, if applicable? Favorite part was the games that my friend came up with- 2 of them I never heard of before: one was people had to guess how big my belly was with a piece of yarn and the other was people had to draw a baby on a paper plate while it was on their head...it was so funny to see what people ended up drawing! I think everyone had a good time.
Any pictures you want to share? Pictures below- my mom worked so hard on all the details, she is so creative and crafty! My friend made a beautiful diaper cake for me. Favorite/interesting gifts? My aunt gave me a wooden wagon that was my grandmother's (who passed away 3 years ago). They had been holding onto it waiting to give it to me when I had a baby- definitely were some water works when I opened that gift! Advice for other moms with upcoming showers? Just enjoy the day and don't sweat the small stuff- People couldn't make it and I didn't get everything I needed for the baby but in the end none of that matters! I had fun and was so appreciative that everyone could come out and celebrate our new addition
What did you wear? I wore a lace, coral berry colored bodcon dress from Jessica Simpson maternity, along with nude colored strappy heels, and wore my hair in a braided crown.
Was there a theme? Yes! "Animals on Parade"
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. Yes! Except for the friends who I had expected to attend who didn't, that was hurtful.
What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part, if applicable? My fave was spending time with everyone and having my family in town from the East Coast for it (I live in SoCal). Also blessed by how involved my Hubby and friends were in the planning and executing of it! Oh, and that it was a co-ed shower, my Hubby's idea and request. It was more of a party then a traditional shower. My least fave was that our food arrived an hour late and then they had trouble getting their grill to work
Any pictures you want to share? Sure! I attached a few Favorite/interesting gifts? My fave are the clothes we got .... SO CUTE!!!! Advice for other moms with upcoming showers? Just chill, relax, and enjoy! It goes by so fast....
What did you wear? My sister in law had bought me a grey tshirt that has "Mama Bear" on it, (and baby has a matching grey onesie with Baby Bear, for when he gets here) and a long blue maxi skirt.
Was there a theme? Baby It's Cold Outside, mostly blue, white, and silver accents.
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. It went amazingly well! I was glad I had lots of time to mingle with everyone. We didn't plan on any games which was totally fine because everyone was busy chatting the whole time.
What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part, if applicable? I just couldn't believe the number of gifts we got, some bags were very deep and they were stuffed to the top with items! My SIL did a hot chocolate bar (crock pot hot chocolate, dishes of toppings, drizzles, and whipped topping) that was a HUGE hit with everyone. Least favourite part...it was so easy to get sweaty opening gifts! By the end of the party, 3hrs later, I was ready for a nap.
Any pictures you want to share? Just of the cake! It was a total surprise because I knew we were already having cupcakes. My husband had dropped me off so he got to see the cake before he left, and he got a little tear in his eye when he saw it! (Our gender reveal was boxing themed, and my husband is a lifelong amateur/professional boxing fan, and currently volunteers as a boxing coach during the week..safe to say, boxing is a big part of our lives!)
Favorite/interesting gifts? Two gal pals of mine went in together on a few things; one being a black and white striped Milk Snob carrier cover which I was sooo stoked to open, and a CD of Adele's top hits.. in lullaby form!
Advice for other moms with upcoming showers? Don't get involved in the planning of the shower; it can be an unnecessary added stress if things don't shape up according to plan. I showed up 5 mins before the start time (much to my MIL's dismay...hah) and all I had 'worried' about was picking out my outfit and curling my hair!
Did it go as you expected/wanted? I had few expectations, but it was really nice.
What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part, if applicable? I was surprised to find I enjoyed talking with my MIL's friends a lot. They told me some stories about my husband as a baby and were genuinely interested in hearing about my pregnancy.
Any pictures you want to share? I didn't really take any, although I've been promised copies from other people.
Favorite/interesting gifts? One of my cousin-in-law's gave us a Harry Potter themed cloth diaper! I'm wildly thrilled with it.
Advice for other moms with upcoming showers? Relax and enjoy it? Try to stay uninvolved in the planning?
What did you wear? Jeans and a cute top from Motherhood Maternity
Was there a theme? Camping/adventure
Did it go as you expected/wanted? It was really nice, went really well. The decorations were adorable!
What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part, if applicable? I was really excited that it was a coed party and that DH could participate and our couple friends could be there. We just felt so loved on and enjoyed spending time with friends who came in from out of town
Any pictures you want to share? I don't have any on my phone, but DH does and I'll try to add a couple a little later
Favorite/interesting gifts? Some of our friends made a Daddy Duty kit and put a bunch of diaper changing materials into an ammo can which they decorated and signed, it was really cute! We also got a Pack N Play which will be a huge help!
Advice for other moms with upcoming showers? I second staying uninvolved with planning...it was so much fun to be surprised with all the sweet decorations and really cut down on my stress levels and I felt more able to just be in the moment and enjoy visiting with everyone
Me: 27 DH: 33 Furbaby: Walther, 4 year old Rottweiler/Coonhound mix EDD: 3/7/17<img
Not much to AW here, but figured I'd share anyway.
When was your shower? Today, Saturday the 4th! How many people attended? 16 church ladies showed for a "sprinkle" We did a small bible study about older women encouraging young mothers and how we are to love our children, had brunch, and then opened gifts.
FavoriteGifts: homemade hooded towels, box of "for mama" goodies including lactation cookie mix and heavy duty pads, and a pizza box that had a gift card for our local pizza parlor and a note that said something like "for the rough nights you need a hand" - also have to say all the diapers!! Think I'm good for the first two months which is huge!
I really didn't want a sprinkle. I side eye them for second time moms. But I do appreciate the ladies that really wanted to do this for me - I hope because of it they feel like they know me a little better, I know because of it I feel like I am more a part of their (or our) community and appreciate them wanting to celebrate this new little life on the way.
@kjd291 that sounds like a nice shower and it seems like you enjoyed it even if you didn't feel comfortable with having one at first, I think that's awesome. Just out of curiosity why do you side eye them for second time moms?
What did you wear? Navy floral dress with a beige cardigan
Was there a theme? "The Moore the Merrier" - it was a joint shower for my sister and I & our maiden name was Moore (she's having a girl, due about 8 weeks after me)
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. Better! It was wonderful and all the ladies seemed to have a great time!
What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part, if applicable? Favorite part was seeing all of our family & friends and catching up with them. My mom put everything together for us and I loved the decorations, games, favors, everything! She really did a fantastic job! Also the food (from Chick-fil-a) & the craft - we all decorated baby bibs!
Any pictures you want to share? Yes, below
Favorite/interesting gifts? We each got so many gifts, people were so generous! Not gonna lie though the things that were actually on my registry were my favorite!
Advice for other moms with upcoming showers? Just try to enjoy each moment, it goes too fast!
@babyspice epecially when you are having the same gender babe like I am, I have everything I need! So it seems gift grabby to have a shower for another little girl when I just had one two years ago and have all her hand me downs.

In general I agree depending how its promoted. I think diaper sprinkles are different though: some things you just can't hand down, lol. I also think it's nice when people offer and want to do something for you, but it's different when a mom is throwing her own second shower or complaining about people not getting her stuff.

All Very true! I think it varies a lot from situation to situation.
What did you wear? Black skinny jeans and light blue v-neck. I tried on a dress I was contemplating and felt like a recycling truck so. No go.
Was there a theme? Dinosaurs!
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. Honestly, since it was our second boy, I wasn't expecting anything. DH's classmate loves throwing these things, so she insisted on a sprinkle. It was mostly just everyone sitting around talking, one game (DS feeding DH baby food) and presents. It was perfect.
What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part, if applicable? Either DS helping open presents or DS getting cupcake literally all over him.
Any pictures you want to share? I didn't take any, friends did but I'm too lazy to download over right now.
Favorite/interesting gifts? I had only made small registries with things like baby soap, diapers, etc. We did get a new exergen temperal thermometer I'm pretty excited about.
Advice for other moms with upcoming showers? Just have fun!
Alex married to M since 6.13.09 T - 3.3.14 A - 2.24.17
What did you wear? I wore a black and blue sweater dress. Not a big dress person and it was the only maternity dress I own so that made it easy.
Was there a theme? Baby boy? He the invites were elephant theme as was the guest fingerprint painting. The diaper cake and cookie favors were puppy themes.
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. After all the drama with MIL and having to have my family step in and take over it went off without a hitch! I was very happy with everything.
What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part, if applicable? Favorite part was receiving the hand made gifts from my moms friends. My parent both passed away, my dad a few years before we got married and my mom the year after we got married . It meant a lot to have my moms friends come. One also brought a gift my mom had made for her when she had her first baby who is now almost 40. It was nice to get something that she had made from so long ago
What did you wear? a black and purple dress with black tights and boots and a purple bow in my hair!
Was there a theme? purple, gold, silver stars!
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. it was great! Our guest list dropped dramatically over the weeks leading up so we had a ton of food but enjoyed the smaller crowd. We ended up running late and were still setting up when everyone arrived so I kind of felt like it was a moot point to have decorated while everyone was already there and then take all the decorations down a couple of hours later but it still looked great and was fun working together to decorate.
What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part, if applicable? Definitely the cake!
Any pictures you want to share? my phone freezes up when I try to upload!
Favorite/interesting gifts? MIL bought baby some beautiful handmade blankets and we got the diaper pail and bottle cleaning stuff I was hoping for, and our car seat!!! My cousin in law gave me a bag of 100 hand folded origami stars for good luck which was so sweet, I cried a little.
Advice for other moms with upcoming showers? take it easy and enjoy yourself! And make sure you have lots of help cleaning up!

When was your shower?
Today! January 28th
How many people attended?
65 people
What did you wear?
Sure! I attached a few
Favorite/interesting gifts?
My fave are the clothes we got .... SO CUTE!!!!
Advice for other moms with upcoming showers? Just chill, relax, and enjoy! It goes by so fast....
How many people attended? Close to 30 I believe.
How many people attended? 38
What did you wear? Jeans and a pale pink blouse
Was there a theme? Fairies
How many people attended? 30-40
DH: 33

EDD: 3/7/17<img
When was your shower? Today, Saturday the 4th!
How many people attended? 16 church ladies showed for a "sprinkle"
We did a small bible study about older women encouraging young mothers and how we are to love our children, had brunch, and then opened gifts.
Favorite Gifts: homemade hooded towels, box of "for mama" goodies including lactation cookie mix and heavy duty pads, and a pizza box that had a gift card for our local pizza parlor and a note that said something like "for the rough nights you need a hand" - also have to say all the diapers!!
How many people attended? ~25
How many people attended? ~15?

Was there a theme?
