Breech check in

Who is still breech? I'm almost 33 weeks and baby flipped breech a few weeks ago. Starting to really street even though I know she has time. I've tried chiro, spinning babies, etc.

Re: Breech check in

  • *Raises hand*
Baby A is breech, Baby B is head down. Unfortunately, to be able to attempt a vaginal delivery with twins Baby A has to flip head down (but it would be OK if Baby B flipped breech). He had been head down from 16 - 28 weeks, but is currently kicking my bladder, so I know he's still breech  :#

I'm only 30 weeks (as of tomorrow) so I still have about a month. I haven't tried anything to get him to flip, but I intend to if he's still breech at my appointment next week.
  • Loading the player...
  • Still breech although only 30 weeks for me. I hope he turns soon if only to get him to stop tap dancing on my bladder  :#
  • Back to breech... he'd flipped to being head down for a few days but then he shifted again.

  • I go next week for an ultrasound, but I'm pretty sure she's flipped to head down.

  • 30.4 days still frank breech. I'm having a repeat c section any way so overall it doesn't matter for me.

  • I don't think mine has flipped yet. Trying acupuncture tonight.
  • 34  weeks and still breech :(
  • Breech again. He flipped during my non stress test and then flipped back immediately after.
  • 31 weeks and still Frank breech.  Haven't tried anything to flip just yet.  Starting non stress tests next week and have a follow up ultrasound at 34 weeks.  C'mon little man!
  • 30w2d and breech.. she also likes to be transverse and goes back and forth.

  • @HoneyBee517 mine is stuck on transverse. He has literally been in the same position for at least 10 weeks (since my anatomy scan). He has rotated a tiny bit here and there ( I can tell by where I feel movement), but I'm convinced that he's just stubborn and won't be flipping to head-down. But, I'm only at 30w3d.

  • 33w4days - she was breech. Flipped then found out at my 3D on the 14th that shes complete breech. Bleh

    @nursemama how did acupuncture go?

Ive been talking to my doula and thought I would share the info she passed along to me. Especially the inversion then belly tie to keep lo up and hope to encourage them taking advantage of the extra space and flip

Some of these are not necessary just yet, but good info anyway, https://spinningbabies.com/learn-more/baby-positions/breech/flip-a-breech/

  • Just wanted to bump this up - anyone still breech? I'm in the club now. Baby was head down for a while but just flipped head up. I'm not too concerned.....yet... I'm only 32w so there is time I guess.
  • Still breech 33 weeks  :s
  • Baby just turned back to head down.... again. 35w5d. Hopefully something positive for you mama's to hear. I know she can still move again as I have a lot of fluid and she's way more active than my first (and obv more room for her lol) BUT I highly doubt she will! FX OFC!!
  • Still breech 33.5 weeks. No longer frank breech tho - tech said he has his legs crossed Indian style lol

  • After 3 weeks breech (weeks 31-34), LO finally flipped!! However, in the middle of the ultrasound she was trying to flip back breech again and the radiologist had to coax her to stay put - she's being difficult already haha. Here's to hoping she STAYS down this time!!
  • 33 weeks and footing breeched. I have a feeling she will be staying like this. I kow there's still time for her to move but she's VERY stubbourn. The doctor gave me different exercises and to play music but nothing works. I'm preparing mentally for a c section (plan for the worst hope for the best).
  • 36 weeks and Frank breech. Version in 13 days.
  • Baby A is still breech. 33 weeks and 1 day today.

It's basically the end of my hope that he'll flip. Twins run out of room to flip a lot sooner than singletons. I am carrying 9.5 lbs of baby in there right now. We're putting a c section date on the calendar at my next appointment, which is next week. Looks like their birthday will probably be Friday, March 10th when I'll be 38 weeks 2 days (I could schedule at 38 weeks, but I don't know the Drs on duty the two days prior).

I am a little disappointed, mostly because I'm not looking forward to being essentially helpless/incapacitated for a couple of weeks. I'm the one that takes care of other people... I am a little bit excited for the extra 2 weeks pay, though...
  • . I am a little bit excited for the extra 2 weeks pay, though...
My insurance through Aetna only will pay for 6 weeks vaginal or c section. It's truly unbelievable to me. They also won't pay for a breast pump.

  • @direwolfmini wow I can't imagine what that is like with that much baby in your belly! I'm sorry that it sounds like it may not go as you hoped with the c section being scheduled. But I'll be hoping for you that Baby A does do a super Houdini move in there and manage to get himself into position in time!

  • @korpisar Seriously? That is really messed up, I'm sorry! We are going to transition to my husband's Aetna insurance after the babies are born  :/

@jenny0228 I was a bit shocked when they told me the babies' weights today. Now I understand why I'm feeling so done with this pregnancy. Thanks for thinking of me and my guys!
  • @direwolfmini thanks. I hope your husband's Aetna insurance is better. The breast pump is because my company is privately insured but not sure about the 6 weeks if that is Aetna or my company's influence. I work for a huge global company so it's pretty surprising. I have been told that since hysterectomies are only covered for 6 weeks c sections are covered the same. In that same thought though, shouldn't a vaginal birth be covered for less time than 6 weeks? (Not my opinion but following along the same lines that makes sense)
Any way, i hope your baby turns and you don't have to have a c section!

  • 35 weeks and still breech... OB said if baby's not cooperating in a couple weeks they'll try an ECV.

Is your short term disability insurance through Aetna? I think that might be what @direwolfmini was referring to in her post about 2 extra weeks.

I work half time so I don't qualify for short term disability. :( The HR rep was like, oh, but you do qualify for fmla leave! Like that's an amazing gift or something. I'm a teacher in a massive school district who has been working in the same county for 8 years. No sh** I qualify to take completely unpaid leave after the birth of my child, lol. After which I will need to reapply to My job anyway because my one year contract runs out this summer so the idea of being able to take leave and have my job waiting for me I'd laughable!

  • @longliveregina yes my STD is through Aetna
also that stinks that you don't qualify for STD and that you have to reapply for your job. I helps me realize Im lucky I get what I get.

  • I am 38 weeks and Breech with second baby.  Already scheduled C section.  Has anyone else had Braxton Hicks with Breech Baby? Are they a little more painful for anyone else?  This past evening mine have been pretty painful.  They have subsided, but debating to call the doc if they happen again. Opinions?
  • @LoveBug2015Baby I had a breech second baby. Had a lot of BH but they were never painful until labor started. I'd give a call to be safe.
  • @LoveBug2015Baby I have lots of BH and am breech, but they aren't painful... the sensation is usually more like a yawn is, you can feel the stretch but it doesn't hurt. I'd call the doc if they start happening again, always better safe (and not worrying about it).

  • I have many everyday and they feel the same as my non breech babies. Lots of pressure and take my breath away.
  • @jenny0228 definitely sounds like he flipped! i hope he stays put for you
  • @jenny0228 awesome!!! Stay baby stay

  • I had my bi-weekly OB check today (33+3) and when she wasn't sure about the position by feeling did a quick US check and confirmed my little lady is breech.  I think she switched from transverse to this last weekend.  Her head is now closer to where her feet have been for weeks!  I know she still has time, but I am not feeling super optimistic that she will cooperate at this point.

  • @MrsBinPA I'm sorry she switched - you never know though, if she had room to flip up she could flip down - hoping she decides to get in position soon!!!
  • Did anyone have lots of BH after their baby flipped down from breech?

@MrsBinPA I hope she flips again for you! My OB said they don't start worrying until 36 weeks, and sometimes even after that they'll flip before an ECV or anything else is done :) I try to keep that in mind.

  • @MrsBinPA I've been on weekly appointments for a few weeks now, and just last week, my guy decided to go breech.  My OB told me exactly what @sunshine507 said - that it's nothing they even worry about till 36 weeks.  Considering he decided to do a somersault in the middle of week 33, she didn't seem concerned.  We're in the same boat - we can cheer each other's little buggers along!  Flip, babies, flip!
  • @MMaru Amen to that!!  I'm keeping everything crossed for all of us!!
