Anyone conceive on their very first cycle?! (Or second/third)

Hey ladies,

I just wanted to get an idea of how many women get pregnant on their first cycle, or if not, let say by the fourth or fifth cycle? I'm planning to TTC from July of this year as i would like to have my baby by the summer months (form about April to August) of 2010. I just wanted to get an idea of how much of a possibility it would be for that to actually happen between July - November for a healthy, active, 28 year old gal with a healthy, active 28 year old husband. Oh wait...we will be be 29 by then!

I am only 22, but we conceived on our very first month of trying. We did not chart, temp or even figure out the "best days" for conception.

I am 26 and my DH is 28. I got off of birth control in October and was pregnant by November 9th. I do not count my days or do the cycle thing, but just wanted to let you know it happened really fast for us. Our policy was we just made love every other day.

Also I thought it would take longer due to Cysts on my ovaries, but apparently they had no bearing on our child rearing.

For my first child, it took us one cycle. For this baby, we waited 13 months.

Anything is possible, but every cycle is has the same chance of conceiving (20% for a healthy couple), whether it's your 1st cycle or your 10th cycle. I wouldn't set your expectations so high by expecting to conceive a summer baby when you start TTC. It is perfectly normal for it to take 6 months to a year to conceive. I got lucky and was pregnant on my 3rd cycle, but it's impossible to plan that.

I was very blessed to conceive on my first try. However, I had previously charted (although not for a year or so before conception), and was very aware of what my discharge would look like at the time of ovulation. In addition, I did the whole "hips-elevated" thing for about 1/2 afterward, just to tilt things in the right direction, and coincidently we had sex in the afternoon - a poster a while ago said that she heard sex in the daylight increases chances of fertility.

A healthy couple has a 20% chance of conception each month. It totally depends on you, your DH, and your timing.

I went off of BCPs in 09/08, and we conceive on our third cycle in 12/08. Shocked the hell out of me.

I'm 28....I got pregnant on the 3rd cycle. I was charting for 2 cycles. I was only BCP for 10 years prior. Good luck!!

We conceived the first cycle off BC. I'm 23 and he's 25. I quit BC on November 15, started my period on November 18, ovulated and got KU on December 2nd, lol. I'll be due about August 25.

I was 28 when I conceived (I've turned 29 since then), and it took us 4 cycles, or 4 months. We were actively trying (OPKs, monitoring CM, and ovulation pain), but I wasn't temping. I also have very regular cycles: 29-32 days. I was off birth control for 3 months before actively trying, too to let my body regulate itself. I think I read a statistic somewhere that 60% of all healthy couples TTC will get pregnant within 6 months of trying.

Oh and by the way, I'm 24 (23 at conception) and my husband is 25. I have very long cycles, so the typical day-14 idea doesn't work for me - that's why I need to be aware of the discharge change.

We got a BFP the first cycle TTC, and it was only the second of BCP AND I have PCOS!

First pregnancy = first cycle. Second pregnancy = fourth cycle.

Well you have a 20% chance in a cycle. If you are REALLY trying I say you could chart....that will help. I knew the four or five days that I would be most likely to concieve and I used OPK to pinpoint it more...We got pregnant the first cycle we tried (I know I said you could chart--I didnt). But as the saying goes "Want to make God laugh? Tell him your plans."

We went off bc Sept 5 and my first day of lmp was Oct 28. Only had two periods - one in sept (regular/light) and the oct 28 after being 2 wks late with major hormonal influx prior (which we attribute to natural jumpstarting of ovulation).. we were stressed out, tired, and hardly trying. We discovered BFP on Dec 16, thinking I was just late and stressed. I'm 28 and DH is 29, both will be older once baby arrives

I'm 25 and my husband is 30. I went off BC at the end of October and we got pregnant mid-December. We went about a normal routine before I got my first cycle after BC and then I used the Bump calculator to guesstimate ovulation. Worked like a charm! (So far!!)

I'm 32, my DH is 34. I've never been on the pill, just always used condoms.

We didn't use a condom ONCE. Weren't planning on TTC in Feb. Were at a football game in another city and didn't have condoms...That was the first time in my entire life w/out protection. BFP : )

We weren't exactly Trying. But basicly the 1st time we didnt try to prevent either. So I guess on the 1st cycle? We were going to start in Jan or even after. But we are really happy it happened this way.GL

yes, i conceived on my first cycle TTC. im healthy and 20 yrs old. i was on BCP for a few years, so i didnt expect my ovulation to be back to normal that fast! good luck!!

i'm 26, we conceived on our first try. but i did chart for 3 months before hand and on this past cycle i only monitored CM and just went by that plus i based my O date around the same time as i had previously. got BFP on the day my period was due. i didn't test before hand.

good luck to you! everyone is different though so if you don't concieve on your first month don't loose hope!
