For Fun: Worst Onesies

2

Re: For Fun: Worst Onesies

  • I can't get on board with the "Mommy's little whatever" or "Daddy's little slugger" ones either. I've gotten interesting looks when I've said that opinion outloud before, so thank you all for making me not feel crazy.

Also, I really wish I had a picture of this. Right after DS was born, a friend of mine made me several onesies and asked me if I'd take pics in them for her to use in her Etsy shop. I foolishly agreed, so she asked me a few questions that seemed harmless ("Do you have a nickname for him?" "Oh, I call him Squeak sometime because of the silly noises he makes)....and then came the onesies. One said "My street name is Squeaks" (street name? Really? Can a one month old be "street"?). One said "Tit faced", which I probably should have seen coming when she asked me if I was nursing. Another said "The senoritas think I'm sexy". There were 4-5 others that I can't remember. But I was a shitty friend, and never put them on him once.

  • @NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot oops! I'm guessing I'll do that too accidentally. I think it's totally fine if you're watching TV, on your phone, reading, etc while feeding your baby. I was referring more to those whoes babies are crying and fussing because they need it be fed, held, changed, etc but the parents are looking at their phones rather than attending to their baby's needs.
  • Also I've seen a ton of these kinda ones:
  • Holy cow. I cannot believe these exist. Yikes

  • @mamatowildones Oye, that's just depressing.
  • Whenever I go shopping it's always the onesies with sayings that are on clearance for like $2. I can't bring myself to purchase anything that say's "little princess" or "daddy's girl" no matter how cheap it is.
  • @KMD1106 I was going to put that one on here! WTF? It isn't even logical/accurate...?

This one doesn't even make sense...:

Generally I think it's in poor taste for baby clothes to have curse words... actually I think it's in poor taste for any clothes tovhave curse words!

    This thread is amazing(ly terrible).

My H wanted to get this onesie when our DD was little, it was a hard no from me.

  • @starphish18 That's why I don't like the current family favorite ones, unless it's the only baby in the family it just seems kinda wrong to me.

Curious now about how everyone feels about the maternity shirts with footprints or a baby peeking out of the belly, etc.?

    This is my least favorite:

Ugh, my MIL picked one of these up for me. I'm uber-feminist so it really just doesn't suit me at all.

ETA: She also bought a Phillies onesie. I'm a Pirates fan and DH is an Orioles fan, so it kind of missed the mark.

They bother me, but, to each their own.

You know those baby shower cakes that look like a woman's dress, with a prego belly, with a foot poking through---now those are disturbing! Like, why would you want to cut slices out of that?!

These always remind me of Steel Magnolias. Like, is it red velvet? Eww.

Ok this one actually made me laugh. Still would never consider letting LO wear any of these, but I got a good laugh at this one

  • Not a onesie but a friend just posted this bib that she got. I have no word.

  • I have not seen most of these and now that I have it makes me wonder who actually buys them. I'm cringing reading them. Just awful. I have a couple with words but try to stay away from them as much as possible. Yikes!

On another note thanks for the entertainment
  • @cclaineDC I like the #tbt one. But otherwise agree on all of these. Horrific! @L1C4gal the grammar annoyed me too.
  • I saw one the other day that said "Good Egg" and it just bothered the heck out of me.
  • ooooh myyy goooosh, first few made me laugh but then it got too real :(  I don't know who but I believe people really buy these. Personally have zero clothes with words and if I receive any they'll be under layers in the cold weather.

I don't know what the bottom is but I definitely own the tbt. I think it's hilarious.

I'd eat this cake, but I'm weird like that. It's totally creepy, but I think that's why I enjoy it. I couldn't do one of those cakes that looks like a sleeping baby though. That's too far.

Look up cake wrecks baby shower cakes. There are some pretty spectacular and disturbing ones out there.
  • @Squirtgun I love looking at cake wrecks sooo much, I've laughed to tears looking at disney princess cake wrecks
  • @WombThereItIs That's awesome!!! I have to get one!!!

@ShadeofGreen816 I would cringe at the message, but I can't stop cringing over the grammar! Ugh, terrible on all levels...
My thought exactly. Reminds me of shirts that are made in other countries and are poorly translated! Honestly this is probably one of those instances. And yes the message and grammar are equally appalling.
