Re: WTO Sun 2/5

  • @shortstack930 thanks. I don't think it's that big of a deal that they have a kid. He hasn't even noticed the pictures (his son) and it's not like they have pictures of DH around her house and parents place.

  • @kaitlink33 I definitely think it's worth having a discussion with them all, especially if it doesn't seem to affect his son. Your feelings matter and they need to realize that!!

@50Wife - That sounds delicious!  I really need to get into the habit on having a meal prep night.

@cactusblossum - Hope you have a good time!

@heatherdubrow - Glad your migraine is gone and you're feeling better :)

@cdnrunning - I feel you on the long cycles.  Your chicken sounds amazing!

    @beachbunnyxo123 - FX!

@JJMNO1616 - Hope your feeling better today and that your neighbors learn better apartment manners :(

@kaitlink33 - That's not unreasonable.  I wouldn't want pictures of my brother's ex hanging around the house - that seems weird.  I second getting new family photos of everyone at the next available opportunity.  It seems very strange that they have photos of his wedding to her still up.  If there's a child involved I don't think its unreasonable to have a picture of her with the kid and NOT your DH, but still having family photos up of the 3 of them seems wrong.  They obviously aren't together anymore and should replace the photos on the wall and move on.  Your DH should say something, since it's his family.  It's possible his family just hasn't really paid attention to the photo thought about how it might make you/DH/SS feel about them.

@wabash15 - Hope your health keeps improving today!

  • @NYTino24 - My O's have been screwy and later than normal the last few cycles so it's hard to say.  Daily temp fluctuations are what I would predict based on times they're taken, although they seem to be a bit lower than normal.  Last cycle O was CD 24 and the cycle before was CD 40.  At this point I feel like I'm biding my time while still trying to hit the FW and hoping for the best.  My OB wanted to see DH's SA test results before prescribing anything so FX I should be on Clomid "next round".

GTKY: What is your go-to weeknight dinner (homemade or otherwise).  Usually my husband makes what we call 'concoction' which is a mixture of pasta, sweet peppers (sometimes also broccoli, carrots, mushrooms or cauliflower) and meat, usually cheicken or ham.
  • @WildMagelet personally I'd still be pissed if there was pictures of her and the kid just the two of them because it's unnecessary. She has those at her place, he lives with her not us and sees her more and again I'm sure she doesn't have pictures of DH and his son up. I'm going to say something about a family photo without her, but I doubt it means they'll take those ones down. I finally got DH to say soemthing about them earlier because he was saying to me they probably hadn't thought about it either. When he did say something though they were more than aware they were there.

  • @kaitlink33 - I understand where you're coming from.  It does seem unnecessary if DH's parents/siblings don't have a relationship with her anymore, which it sounds like they don't.  That's crappy that your ILs were insensitive to the photos and how they would make you/DH feel and I'm surprised they'd actively still want them up anymore.

  • @WildMagelet the chicken is amazing. It's from the Well Fed cookbook (paleo) and it's called "the best chicken ever". You also have to make the moroccan dipping sauce that goes with it - that seals the deal
  • @cdnrunning- I'll have to check it out!  My long-term goal is to move more towards a paleo diet.  I *know* that its healthier to eat less processed foods but I haven't committed yet.  I have a few co-workers doing Whole 30 right now which to my understanding is similar so maybe that will help seal the deal!

For those ladies who have migraines with their periods, I just had the first migraine-less period I've had in years. I have off and on had a terrible time with migraines...I was on topamax for most of 2015, and now just take maxalt as needed (love that stuff).  The only things I did differently are drinking lots of water and drinking Moon Ease tea from Mountain Rose Herbs. I will try it again next cycle and see if I get the same results. I am not an "herb" person in general, but this tea is definitely correlating to a different period experience this time, that's for sure! I keep expecting the migraine to show up and it just hasn't! I am baffled.

@kaitlink33 we recently had a similar event in our family (a couple got divorced) and we took all the pictures down pretty quickly. There was no child involved, but still. Seeing those pictures were painful for everyone. I wish you luck with that discussion

And now after re-reading some of the Clomid posts, it sounds like I need to have a more serious conversation with my OB and my Health Insurance about monitoring and if there are any REs in our area.  I guess I have some homework for this week!

  • @kaitlink33 I'm sorry to hear that is the way his family is responding to the situation! I can understand why this is really bothering you. Hopefully they will eventually come around and understand why it makes you feel uncomfortable.

    WAYDTGKU: BD EOD starting soon

R/R: Rave: Yesterday I went to the animal shelter we got our Sheltie from and the Yorkie I originally wanted is doing better socially. DH didn't want her before because she was super withdrawn from every one. I got to help out with a super timid Maltese too, more timid than my own little girl.

Rant: DH won't let me get the Yorkie still.

We skyped my inlaws this morning and FIL mentioned a family tropical vacation when he retires in Sept. At first it was Hawaii but then he said just somewhere warm. I hope they don't chose the Caribbean. I mean, hopefully we're ktfu by then and we could just push the trip back until a few months after EDD but still.

forgot my tag: @jjmno1616 My AF is about 3 days. CD1 is always super heavy though, like I get 5 days worth out in 3.

feeislove  Have you tested again? You mentioned before that you tested last Monday, which would have been way to early at 7dpo. Today, you should likely be 13 dpo if FF is correct with O date.
  • @heatherdubrow I don't know why but I thought your transfer was sooner... lots of hurry up and wait in this game
@dragonfly87 my follie check is tomorrow and if things look good than I expect the IUI would be teusday or Wednesday
@wildmagelet I am so glad your rethinking clomid with an OB. GL finding an RE!

@wabash15 seriously so much! After the lining check you have to be on progesterone for 6 days so aiming for the 23rd since my H is off work that day. It feels like forever.
fortunately if the transfer doesn't work my RE said it's easy to do another one. Just wait for a period then build the lining up again so like 3 weeks later.
    but I'm thinking positive here...
  • @wabash15 - Me too.  My OB is about an hour away, and it looks like the closest RE is that far.  From what I can tell there two options at that distance.  Hopefully they have early/late office hours, or else I'm going to be burning up all of my sick time at work I've accumulated in appointments.  Reading more, I'm also concerned that my OB hasn't mentioned a progesterone supplement yet, which just concretes my desire to find an *actual* IF specialist.
