    Good morning friends!!

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? 12 weeks & 1 day, August 13 2017 - I can't believe I can say I'm 12 weeks now!
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having? Currently just frequent urination, a few headaches & round ligament pain.
    3. When is your next appointment? NT scan on Tuesday next week.
    4. Anything else you'd like to share? My RE is doing my NT scan for me now - which I like because it's a long and important one so I'll be more comfortable and I get the results right after in person.

QOTW: What's your favorite "holiday" of the year & do you have any fun plans for your new little one for that day this year?

Christmas!! - I just love how "happy" everything looks all decorated, getting to see family and friends & Christmas Shutdown at work! (a paid week off at work without having to use my vacation time!) It'll be even more fun to just have our own little family this year!

edited - always spelling - I think I need to stay away from writing emails today at work. hehe

  • Hi. I hope it's ok to join you.

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? I'm 5.5 weeks. I haven't gone for the first u/s yet so I'm not sure when my EDD is. I think it's around the end of September.
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having? Nausea, indigestion, and moodiness
    3. When is your next appointment? 2/2 for first u/s.
    4. Anything else you'd like to share? I'm nervous about even posting here, afraid it will jinx us. I know rationally what will be will be but this whole journey has taught me to be even more anxious.

My favorite holiday is also Christmas. I really enjoy the time from Halloween to Christmas. The anticipation of holiday gatherings, the happiness, all of it makes me smile and enjoy that time.

  • Welcome @Kp214! So exciting to get that BFP!!
Thanks for posting @JWatt5! You're almost out of here!

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? 8 weeks tomorrow! I feel like I'm crossing a huge hurtle with that 8 week mark! EDD: 9/12/17
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having? Morning sickness is getting better, luckily. I feel like I'm already suffering from "pregnancy brain". Forgetting things ALL the time. Oh and frequent urination is a killer! 5x on Saturday night...FIVE! Also, my sense of smell is pretty good lately.
    3. When is your next appointment?  Feb 16, noninvasive prenatal testing with the MFM.
    4. Anything else you'd like to share? I'm still a worry wart! Is anyone else renting a fetal doppler? I looked into it but I think it's expensive. Amazon has one that is about the same price as renting one for a month or 2.

QOTW: What's your favorite "holiday" of the year & do you have any fun plans for your new little one for that day this year?
I'm excited to have a little one for Christmas. I know he/she won't know what's going on but having the first grandchild for my mom/dad is going to make the holidays magical this year!

  • Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing well!

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? 9W5D. 8/30/2017
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having? These are starting to subside a little bit, but frequent urination and sense of smell are the biggies. Also my boobs are growing!
    3. When is your next appointment? Tomorrow for an ultrasound. We had a bit of a scare last week with a subchorionic hemorrhage so my doctor is keeping a close eye on it.
    4. Anything else you'd like to share? Some days it doesn't even feel real! Yet I can't believe we're so close to 12 weeks. I'm excited to announce and move onto that next stage!

QOTW: What's your favorite "holiday" of the year & do you have any fun plans for your new little one for that day this year? Definitely Thanksgiving! I just have the best memories of all the family around the table, laughing and enjoying ourselves.

@hopetobeashraderfamafter our scare last week, we just went ahead and bought one. It was only $30 and has brought us so much piece of mind. My husband (the patient saint) is usually able to find the heartbeat within a couple minutes. Best $30 we ever spent! Here is where we ordered it from:

We found out they wont do another ultrasound until 22 weeks so we are planning to go to a local place you can pay out of pocket (which is the same as obs cost for 3d) around weeks 18 or 19 for our gender scan. This place let's you bring guests so we figure we'll do it as our gender reveal with parents and siblings.

QOTW: What's your favorite "holiday" of the year & do you have any fun plans for your new little one for that day this year?
Thanksgiving and Christmas.... we want family to come to us for Christmas so we'll have a full house we just want to enjoy it at home for a family for the first Christmas

  • Hi ladies - crazy to say this but this will be my last week here in 1st tri.  Looking forward to seeing you all on the 2nd tri boards (and probably still lurking over here every so often) :)

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? 13w1d with twins, EDD 8/6
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having? Still tired but the nausea is almost completely gone.  Have had some headaches/dizziness but not too bad.  Sensitivity to smell keeps getting stronger and round ligament pain has started this last week or so
    3. When is your next appointment? 2/9
    4. Anything else you'd like to share? I can't believe how quickly this first trimester has gone by and it's amazing to think I'm 1/3 of the way through (probably even more since twins tend to arrive early!)  DH and I have had fun talking about names ever since the DNA bloodwork came back normal.  And once I hit 2nd trimester is when I said I'd allow us to start purchasing baby stuff although I've been researching like crazy already.  Can't wait to start setting up the nursery!

QOTW: What's your favorite "holiday" of the year & do you have any fun plans for your new little one for that day this year? Usually my favorite holiday is 4th of July but this year I'll probably just be anxiously awaiting the little ones' arrivals instead of BBQ-ing!

  • @Kp214 - jumping for joy seeing you here my dear!!! congrats! So happy for you!!! Took me a while to join this board too... the anxiety is totally normal and we've all experienced it. Big hugs.. you got this!!!!

@harleyquinn0621 - totally understandable... when my symptoms are raging I'm at peace, when they disappear I go into full blown paranoia. I think every time something changes on this journey it puts us on edge. Big hugs... you're getting closer and closer to the second trimester. Hopefully that'll bring you some reassurance when you get there.

@tiffavis12  - wow I wouldn't want to wait until 22 weeks.. that feels cruel. Glad you found somewhere you can go!

@Isthisthereallife  - sending you positive vibes for your U/S tomorrow

@hopetobeashraderfam  - I've been considering the fetal doppler too... I'm worried I'll be too obsessed though hahaha.

@JWatt5 - yay for 12 weeks! So so excited for you hun, though we'll miss you here! :) can't wait to catch up :)

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? I'm 9w1d (or less if my last scan of being a week behind is accurate). EDD is Sept 3 (may change after tomorrow's scan).
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having? Nausea and fatigue mostly. Food aversions and sensitive smell have kicked in too. They give me reassurance so they are welcome ;) my lower back has been a little sore since yesterday... though I've been a total couch potato due to not feeling well so that could be part of it... Hubs tells me I'm moody... eek.
    3. When is your next appointment?  tomorrow I have a scan at an imaging centre to check dating (higher quality machine than bedside scan at OB). Then next OB appointment is Feb 21 when I'll be doing non-invasive genetic testing and finding out gender etc.
    4. Anything else you'd like to share? Had to reorder a bunch of meds today... last time I guess... getting nervous to wean off everything but also getting really excited for that day to come.

QOTW: What's your favorite "holiday" of the year & do you have any fun plans for your new little one for that day this year?
I love Christmas probably most of all and it's so exciting to think that we've already celebrated our last Christmas just the two of us. Crazy! I also think Halloween and dressing up our little one will be so fun. This year all the holidays will be extra special because my brother and his wife are due next week... so we have two babies entering our side of the family for the first time! Will be so fun to have cousins so close in age for all the holidays and gatherings really! <3

  • Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great start to your week  :)

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? 10 weeks and 4 days/ EDD is 8/24
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having? Exhaustion and frequent urination...nausea but that seems to be getting little better
    3. When is your next appointment? Sequential screening 2/13
    4. Anything else you'd like to share? I'm going to share my pregnancy with all of my co-workers on Friday and I will be just past 11 weeks at that point. I considered waiting one more week but I've been feeling so tired and crappy some days that I just want people to know why I haven't completely been myself.

QOTW: What's your favorite "holiday" of the year & do you have any fun plans for your new little one for that day this year? Christmas is my favorite...I'm just so excited to celebrate and do all of our family traditions with the baby!
  • 1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? Crazy to say, but it's my last week here! 13wks 2 days, 8/5/17
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having? Food adversions. Struggling to eat veggies and chicken the most right now.
    3. When is your next appointment? Friday! Just listening to the heartbeat again. I had a scare with several days of spotting, so my ob had me come in for an ultrasound last week. Now that the spotting is over, looking forward to hearing the heartbeat and confirming things are still good.
    4. Anything else you'd like to share? This trimester had gone by so fast!! I registered for classes at the hospital yesterday, because they want you to register during the 4th month. It felt crazy early and yet a lot of classes were already filling up.

QOTW: What's your favorite "holiday" of the year & do you have any fun plans for your new little one for that day this year?
I don't really have a favorite, but really looking forward to fall in general, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Thanksgiving is huge for my family and it's my in-laws first grandkid, so Christmas is going to be extra special for them.
  • @oxinfree thanks!  It's good to see you over here.  I'm just like you with the symptoms. If I'm nauseous, I think everything's ok. If I'm not, I worry.  I've never been so happy to be nauseous and tired.

@harleyquinn0621 DH, and I agree, says that after everything we've been through, it's normal to feel this way, to be worried and scared.  That makes me feel less irrational, and I hope it does you as well.

@hopetobeashraderfam I'm hoping that if/when I get pregnancy brain that I won't be any different than now. I'm already fairly forgetful, very much an absent-minded professor. If it gets worse, I'm doomed. hope it gets better.

  • 1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? 8 weeks 3 days, EDD Sept 8th
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having? @hopetobeashraderfam I totally have pregnancy brain too! I didnt think it would hit this early, but I've managed to lose my phone multiple times, throw out key ingredients for dinner, etc. Just craziness! Lots of fatigue as well.
    3. When is your next appointment? We have our final ultrasound at our Fertility Clinic this Thursday morning...I will be 1 day away from 9 weeks and if all is well, we will be graduating!
    4. Anything else you'd like to share? I am weirdly anxious to find out the sex this week...husband and I both think girl, but for some reason I am really wanting to know for sure!

QOTW: What's your favorite "holiday" of the year & do you have any fun plans for your new little one for that day this year? Christmas is my favorite holiday...honestly I just want to take some pics under the tree with LO :) But it is soooo far away that it's hard to think about. So much to get through before we even reach that stage.

  • @oxinfree DH is worried I'm going to get obsessive w/ the doppler, but I feel it will give me peace of mind. It does say it's suitable for use at 12 weeks. So I will have to keep that in mind for a while if I can't find the HB right away.

@Kp214 & @omarismyhomeboy I keep telling DH, pregnancy brain is REAL! There has been research. So I just blame everything I've done or haven't done on that! LOL!

Sounds like everyone is doing well this week! I love our little group!

  • I feel really good this week - now that I'm all done with the progesterone I find the constipation has eased up and bloat is down - it's been nice!
My poor pup is sick though so I'm staying home with Finn today (the roads are bad anyways). He's just not himself, HD had to clean up a nasty poop mess - I don't have the heart to leave him at home sick. Just hoping he's doesn't makes a mess again - I have a mask & gloves all ready just incase.

  • @JWatt5 I hope your dog feels better soon, he is super cute!

@harleyquinn0621 Glad you had a good ultrasound! I feel the same way about being spoiled...I saw my OB once so far and didn't even get a picture from that ultrasound! My next appointment with her was scheduled for 4 weeks later which seems like forever!

Are any of you ladies starting to show yet? I'm just about 11 weeks and I've been reading that first time mom's don't show until 12-16 weeks but today all of a sudden I feel like I have a small belly! I don't feel bloated but I guess it could be the fact that I'm eating every 2 hours from hunger or to keep the nausea at bay  :/
  • @harleyquinn0621 - indeed spoiled - I was a remote patient and so I haven't seen my RE since transfer. My OB has been good about seeing me more frequently but we were supposed to have a scan today at an imaging center (better quality tech) and it was going to cost us $300!!!! UGH. So now we're trying to hold off until 12 weeks (our last scan was 8 weeks). It's going to be a long next 3 weeks until that time... I'm not sure how I'll get by frankly. Do ya'll think I'm okay to wait that long? Should I reschedule the U/S for next week and just eat the cost - it goes to our yearly insurance deductible we have to meet... but still so pricey :(

@Stars2016 - I definitely am not showing at all, though I'm only 9 weeks. I definitely have bloat but that comes and goes. I am eating every hour or two as well to cope with nausea.

@JWatt5 - hows the pup? feeling better?

  • Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great week so far!

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? Can I just say I'm 12 weeks now?  I will be tomorrow :)
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having? I wake up and pee all night long, sometimes I can't go back to sleep which just adds to the fatigue.  I have some ligament pain from time to time and my girls are a just a bit sensitive.
    3. When is your next appointment? I have my ultra screen tomorrow.  Which has been a stressful experience, because the people that work in the office are rude and dumb.  I told them a month ago that the outside MFM they use does not accept my insurance and they reassured me it will be fine.  they call me today, less than 24 hours before my appointment to tell me I need to find another MFM to do the scans.  I was out to eat lunch with my MIL and SIL and i was ready to lose my mind.  I took off from work to make time for this scan.  UGH.  Maybe I should add cranky to the list of symptoms...
    4. Anything else you'd like to share? With twins on the way, Im nervous that things won't be ready for them.  I did buy 2 cribs over the weekend.  They were such a bargain I couldn't resist!  My MIL and my mom are helpful so I"m sure everything will be fine.

QOTW: What's your favorite "holiday" of the year & do you have any fun plans for your new little one for that day this year?

I love halloween.  I have so many ideas for costumes for the four of us to wear.  One of my favorites is a baseball theme.  I'm a yankee fan, DH roots for the mets.  When the two teams play each other, its called the subway series.  So DH and I will be baseball players and the twins will be the subway trains.
:#  But I'm sure will the little beans around, Christmas will be my new favorite holiday.

@Esperer - I'm around the GTA Ontario Canada & got it at Rooms To Grow. But is an American made chair if that's where you are (I think most on the bump are!). https://www.besthf.com/best/Storytime/Recliners/items/BENJI
    There's the website!

@harleyquinn0621 - I'm just getting ok with it hehe. This chair matchs our over all house decor so we'll use it once it's not needed for the baby elsewhere. I think cause it's a more "universal" piece, I was ok buying it hehe. Good first piece to help break my fears. We're telling friends this weekend - nervous about that!!

  • Well I caved and bought a fetal doppler. Should be here by Friday (tomorrow). I'm hoping that'll help ease my mind and get me through to 12 weeks. I dunno though. It's definitely not easy but at the same time, trying to trust my body and baby. Yesterday I was super super nauseous... worst day yet. Today though of course I feel almost completely fine... oh the mind games. We'll see what happens.

    @JWatt5 - chair looks great!

@DDRGirlie - I'm also looking forward to halloween and dressing baby up. The first year will be tough because they'll be less than 2 months old.. but I'll still try ;) haha. I think 2018 will be super fun though.

  • Hi ladies! This will be my last post on this board as I am officially in my second tri now, EEEK!

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD?
     I am 13 weeks 3 days due on 8/8/17
    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having? Nausea and exhaustion are gone mostly!!! No I have headaches creeping in :/ My OB said that is typical for 14-18 weeks and tylenol and a little caffeine ought to help. Boobs are still sore on and off, bras are starting to be uncomfortable, and my gag reflex is hypersensitive.
    3. When is your next appointment?  I just had my 13 week U/S with NT scan and genetics blood work yesterday.  Doc said our ultrasound looked like an A+ and expects everything on blood work to come back normal! Talk about RELIEF!!! I have another appointment on 2/27.
    4. Anything else you'd like to share?  We are starting to spread our news after yesterday's report. I have texted most of our friends and family that we hadn't told yet. We have a couple of friends we are seeing this weekend that we will tell in person, and then once we know gender I think I'll announce on social media. I have also told some more people at work. It feels sooooooo good to let the secret out. Kind of liberating and makes me feel a bit more normal! It just all feels so surreal.

QOTW: What's your favorite "holiday" of the year & do you have any fun plans for your new little one for that day this year?  I don't know which holidays I am more excited about?!?!? I think honestly I am just excited about them all and life in general! DH and I have decided I can significantly cut back on work once the baby comes so I can mostly be at home. At some point I am going to talk to my boss about going from my current 40hrs/week to 24hrs/month! So I am just excited about life changing in such an awesome way :)

@Kp214 I am so glad to see you on this board! WELCOME and congratulations! So happy to hear your US went well and you got to hear that beautiful heartbeat! I was a little nervous (and obviously excited) about stopping the PIO shots. My RE had me just stop them, no weaning at all, and I did totally fine! It was a very smooth transition for me.

@Isthisthereallife thank you for the doppler link! I ordered one too and should be receiving today! I can't wait to play with it, hoping to be able to find the heartbeat for my family. My niece and nephew are super excited about the baby. My niece is so sweet, she is worried the baby is going to hurt me when it comes out  :D She is only 5 so I am not sure how she pictures it arriving, but she knows enough to be concerned for me, haha!

@harleyquinn0621 Congratulations on hearing a strong heartbeat! That is so magical and reassuring!

@Stars2016 I felt like I could see a little bump around 9 or 10 weeks. I am 13 now and definitely have a bump. It is easily concealed still, but it is there for sure and usually bigger in the evening.

@oxinfree I wouldn't worry too much about not having an US until 12 weeks as long as your are not having concerning symptoms. It is so hard for us to wait given what we have all been through. I totally understand how you feel though. You can always schedule one down the road if you get too concerned and think it is worth the money to ease your mind. And remember the risk of MC reduces significantly once you've heard a strong heartbeat and reduces even more as the week progress :) When I get worried I always stop and ask myself why am I worried? Just because or are there any actually symptoms I am having that are causing me concern? Usually then I decide it is all in my head, and a product of all the trauma we have been through to get here, ha! I am with you on the doppler for sure. I think that is a great way to keep your mind at peace while waiting for your next US. I just had one yesterday, and won't have another until March 20th!

Ladies, it has been real! Although I am moving along to the 2nd tri board I will still keep you all in my thoughts and prayers for a happy and healthy 9 months to all!  Thank you all for sharing this experience and for all your support! xoxo
  • @ljsmith805 thank you!  I'm so glad things are going well with you and that you are able to move on. Yay!

@JWatt5 I'm able to laugh about it now. DH thought I'd lost my mind and was trying to help me relax. He was so sweet. I spoke with my friend about it afterwards and she sent me several links with funny reasons why pregnant women cry. It was very funny.

If any any of you are interested, here's one of the links. https://mom.me/pregnancy/22126-23-hilarious-reasons-why-pregnant-women-cry/

DH doesn't think they are all real. I can definitely see them all being real.

  • @hopetobeashraderfam  - hows the doppler working? Any success? It's still early if not.

@ljsmith805 - congrats on moving on... And telling the world!? so exciting! :) such a great time. Thanks for the reassurance about strong heartbeat.

@Kp214  - omg that link - my fav was the nacho one... so relatable. Like why isn't my food what I wanted it to be!?!?!

So update on my whole situation. I ordered my fetal doppler (which arrived but I haven't tried yet) and then of course I get an email out of the blue from my RE asking for an update on my measurements etc. I told him after my last scan, even though we were 6-7 days behind that I was trying to wait until 12 weeks. He then said given my measurements etc. he was concerned and thought waiting was excessive and encouraged me to go get a scan. Luckily there was a cancellation at the imaging center and we got in same day and all was ok but wow what an emotional morning. I had been trying so hard to stay positive so it threw me through into a tailspin. Baby was measuring 9w2d (I was 9w4d) but sac measured 8w4d so looking at all measurements etc they dated me as measuring 9w0d overall. Not sure if I should be concerned about the sac size at all, but regardless RE seemed happy with the results so that eases my mind a little bit at least.
Anyone experience smaller sac size??? Ack... why can't I just get one scan that is perfect roses and sunshine!??? haha.  baby was 2.5cm and sac was 3.2cm.

  • @harleyquinn0621 - hope it stops for you! It's such a worry but I think there's a few of us who it's happened to too for support. Doesn't it suck that you finally feel frisky and then that happens. Happened to me and DH won't be getting any for a while now. I hope everything is ok - keep us updated.

I just found my Puregon/Follistim pens in the fridge - with meds I guess I though it would need. And I can't bring myself to throw it out...hehe
