  What have you done this week to prepare for baby? Met up with a new midwife and birthing center. 

  
  

  Appointments this week? Just a consultation 

  
  

  Any new symptoms? Just more heartburn and interrupted sleep. 

  
  

  Rant/Rave/Questions? Excited for a new midwife so close to home but bummed her birthing center is so new and in progress that it will be considered out of network. New insurance doesn't cover out of network.

  What have you done this week to prepare for baby? Made sure DD's old car seat wasn't expired and made a to do list of everything I need to do before she comes

  Any new symptoms? Severe back pain, some possible mild Braxton hicks but I'm not sure if that's exactly what it is
  

  
  

  Rant/Rave/Questions? Do Braxton hicks have a pattern or is it more like random tightness that lasts for random lengths of time?

  
  

  GTKY: What's one random thing about yourself you haven't discussed on TB yet? I used to be a Ukrainian dancer but had to quit due to my back I miss it like crazy and hope to live vicariously through DD(s)!

  Braxton hicks are random tightness lasting random amounts of time.. and usually stronger/ more frequent if you are dehydrated or over do things.

  30 weeks this week! (30+2 today)
  
  Baby is the size of a cantaloupe, getting bigger! 
  
  Team blue!! 
  
  This week I hung artwork in the nursery, my breast pump and sleep nursing bras came in the mail, I added a few essentials to our registry, and I started looking at dress options for maternity pictures. 
  
  No appointments this week.
  
  Constipation seems to be coming back (haven't had it since week 12). Starting to feel bigger for sure. I think I might be starting to get stretch marks on the underside of my boobs. And I get full really easily. 
  
  No rants/raves/questions coming to mind
  
  GTKY: When I was born my parents named me Jessica Lynn but changed it to my current name when I was 4 months old because Jessica/Jess/Jesse were so popular for both boys and girls in the 80s.

  @jenessa05 I'm a twin too! My twin is a brother and people ALWAYS asked us if we were identical all the way through high school. Clearly they don't know how things work...

  GD test on Monday. I am hoping that I pass. I failed the 1 hour test with my last pregnancy

  Leg cramps in the middle of the night and I am also starting to get muscle pain in my lower belly.

  GTKY: What's one random thing about yourself you haven't discussed on TB yet? it's not super interesting, but I used to love to cook before DS was born and ever since then I just can't get back into it, which makes me sad.

  What have you done this week to prepare for baby? Bought a couple decor items, got the 4 cloth diapers and 2 wet bags that I ordered last week, emptied the dresser in the nursery of non baby items.

  Rant/Rave/Questions? I think I finally need to buy a new bra While my boobs have obviously grown my bra was still fitting fine up until this week, now the underwire is killing me.

  
  

  GTKY: What's one random thing about yourself you haven't discussed on TB yet? I'm living in a house with 6 dogs right now (only 3 are ours) while H is on the mend from breaking his knee/leg.

  What have you done this week to prepare for baby?  Not much this week because it's not a payday week.  I plan to buy 1-2 items out of my paychecks.  (It's baby #3 so I don't plan on a shower, maybe welcome baby party in May or June.)  Next weekend I'm trading our Pack N' Play in at the Babies R Us trade in event.  I can't wait!

  Any new symptoms?  Lucky me, many of my first trimester symptoms have returned.  Food aversion, nausea, some vomiting.

  I booked our newborn photographer and bought curtains for the nursery...now hanging them is another story
  

  Appointments this week? 

  I have my regular check-up on Thursday...which is my first since being diagnosed with GD, and I am really looking forward to talking with my doctor and see if/how this changes things going forward.
  

  Any new symptoms?

  I have had a cold all week...so that misery distracted me from anything else...either that or my body knew it needed to take it easy on me. I have had a relatively pain free/symptom free pregnancy thus far so I count myself lucky!
  

  Rant/Rave/Questions? 

  I was absolutely devastated when I found out that I had failed my 3 hour glucose test and was diagnosed with GD...but after meeting with a diabetic educator and nutritionist I am feeling much better. It is not idea by any stretch...but my baby is motivation to keep my head up and follow this diet to a t...plus it's only 10 more weeks!
  

  GTKY: What's one random thing about yourself you haven't discussed on TB yet?
  

  I am a runner...I have run 2 marathons (including the Chicago marathon) and almost 20 half marathons...and too many 5k's and 10k's to count. I am lucky enough to be able to continue to run thus far and hoping to keep it up until delivery...my ultimate goal is to run at least 1 mile the day before I deliver

  How far along are you? As of last Thursday, 30 weeks!

  What have you done this week to prepare for baby? DH and I unpacked some gifts from the shower into the nursery, tested out some of the gadgets we got, and firmed up a pediatrician 

  Appointments this week? This coming Thursday I have my ultrasound at the hospital - measurements and all, then OB appt - weight, doppler, measure gut, and that evening we are attending a breastfeeding class

  Any new symptoms? Nope - actually, the achy hips dissipated a bit and on Saturday, I had just an odd surge of energy.  

  Rant/Rave/Questions? More random - twice in the last 3 days, I have turned on the stove burners with my gut.  1st time I was cleaning the back wall and felt heat and smelled something.. look down and I almost cooked myself.  Today at lunch, I was milling around the kitchen, run upstairs, and come back down to the smell of gas.  Yep, gut did it again!

  GTKY: What's one random thing about yourself you haven't discussed on TB yet? I am 1st generation American to my 2 Polish born parents.  I went to Polish school every Saturday, been to Poland a handful of times.  I even had a Polish donut (pączek) this morning for breakfast... but since it's cultural, there's no calories.

  @chelle087 That is super impressive! I'm not running far or fast these days, but still being able to do what I love as long as possible is great! Hope you can keep the running up this time around too!
