We are driving 2+ hours to San Antonio tomorrow, for 3lb cinnamon rolls (drool) and then a Harry Potter convention (my geek is showing, I'm not ashamed)
My husband is out for a guys night so I am eating junk food and watching reality tv trash. It would be *perfect* if I had a beer or a glass of wine. These sour patch kids will have to do
@flyingncmama I hate to admit it but, Walmart! I ran up there quick today to pick up some snacks and a patch for our couch (my dogs nails ripped the leather!) The airplane print was speaking to me so I HAD to have it Meijer is about 9 miles away versus Wally World (about 2 miles) away from our house so on a quick trip, Walmart wins...I know, I hate myself for it but it's Convenience sometimes that wins!
I have been waking up every hour on the hour for the past week. At quarter of 6am, I hear DS begin crying. Ummm, Hell No. So I stick my head out the door and tell him it's too early and to go back to sleep. 2 minutes later, he is crying again, so in anger I say snap, "FINE, get out of bed then." My DH, who worked night shift, wakes up and asks calmly if he needs to get him. Apparently, I sounded unstable. So I snapped at him that I just want to sleep like a normal person and stomped out of the room. Then, the guilt hit. I just woke my poor exhausted husband, screamed at my 3yo for waking up, and confessed that I want my body back. Wow, I am a bish when I don't get sleep. Had to apologize to DS, who seemed unphased and just wanted BK. Then I had to apologize to my unborn baby that I do want her and if she needs to wake me up constantly the entire pregnancy that is fine. Saving DH for after he wakes up. My word it is too early for all this Mommy guilt and probably for this extremely long, Dear Diary post.

@kahlan82, I feel you. I had a day like that yesterday and I've been having such vivid dreams that I am not sleeping well. My hubby ended up staying with the toddler so I could take myself to the movies. It helped immensely and now I'm returning the favor by letting him sleep in. Try to get some time to yourself if you can today and don't feel guilty, growing and raising tiny humans is physically and emotionally exhausting!
@mamaelle27 Thanks. I know logically it is okay to get tired and stressed I just struggle with it emotionally. Hubby is taking DS to a monster truck show today, so I am getting my first break in a LONG time. I think a pedicure is in order.

@kahlan82 and others with toddlers that insist on waking up too early, there's clocks like this one that we use for our littles. We set ours so that it turns green at 7AM, which lets the boys know that it's okay to get out of bed. It took a week or so of training, but now they stay in bed until it's green (with the exception of going to the bathroom).
We have a similar clock to the one @flyingncmama posted. It was a lifesaver! However, I know other people who have tried to use it and had no success. I think it depends on your kids (or maybe how diligent you are with it). My son is such a rule follower when it comes to stuff like that (for example, we told him he couldn't wake up until 8:00 today because we had a really late night. At 8:02 he walks out of his room and says "I'm sorry I'm late, it's 8:02, not 8:00")
My nesting is kicking in to overdrive. But not with cleaning, just with wanting to get the space set up for baby. We need to make room for him/her in our bedroom, and we need to refinish a dresser we bought for the boys' room so we can move the smaller nursery sized dresser into our space. I've slowly started buying some onesies and diapers and stuff, and I really need to have a place to put these things before I go crazy. But I can't move the furniture myself, and we didn't get to do it this weekend. DH is not going to want to do it next weekend because we will have my step son, and then superbowl....So I'm looking at another 2 weeks before we can even consider it.
And I know we have plenty of time, but I know my time is limited to help move things, and I hate feeling helpless.
Sobbed going through DSs baby clothes yesterday seeing what can be used for our little girl and what to pass to my brother who is having a boy. You forget how tiny they were!! More than a few ended up in the sentimental pile that I just couldnt part with. And then I didnt want to give any of them bc it felt too final. My husband had to remind me that my brother really needs them and if we decide for a third we have the means to get more or get those back. Im emotional bc my baby isnt a baby anymore.
@awillis13 we moved furniture in our living room yesterday! It was amazing! I want to move the bedroom stuff too but it's going to be so cramped so DH wants to wait.
@Stankonia2014 when it comes to blankets it's just a simple square (for this type of simple cuddle/floor blanket). These are my terms as I learned how to do this from my mom and not a pattern, so bear with me! I do one soft felt side and one cotton side, both 1 and 1/4 yard. I put right sides together and do any excess cutting needed. Pin and sew 1/2 inch from edge all but about 8 inches of the right sides together. Once that's done, turn it right side out (through the hole you didn't sew up) and iron the borders so they are flat and match up (sometimes one side of the fabric pulls higher then the other). When it's all ironed, go back to the sewing machine for a fancy border, about 1/4 inch away from the edge of blanket. I also sew 4 one inch lines in all four quadrants to help hold the two fabrics together (I'll attach that picture).
Burp clothes I have always done a simple rectangle but this time I'm going to cut out a half circle on the inside border so it "hugs" my neck...I'll post some progress pics of that too!
I am a visual wing it kind of person so if I can see it in my head, I can (try to) re create it with whatever I'm working on if that makes sense...I don't usually use a pattern!
@flyingncmama we have that clock and our boys just unplugged it and the cord became a weapon... not very successful as they don't have night lights so it was a distraction/toy for them. We thought it was more dangerous than benefit to get them to stay in bed... had to make the final call when one twin tied the other up (all in fun, they were pretending to be superheros) with the cord one night not too long after bed time.
@flyingncmama thanks. I had heard about them but never got one because DS used to sleep until 7am. But after two weeks of this it might be time for the clock.

I am on a bunch of maternity clothes facebook resell pages. I find it really odd (and a little gross) that people are reselling used maternity bras (and even c-panties, the ones for use after a c-section). I get that these things are expensive, but bodily fluids? I can't even imagine buying those things used.
@kahlan82 We have one too for DD (will be 3 in March). She knows she's not supposed to call for us until it goes off but is inconsistent about if she waits or just yells. The past two mornings it's been a "I'm hungry!" issue at 5:30am which is a problem. Other days she calls the second it turns green. I vote for giving it a shot!
@awillis13 our furniture is HEAVY so there is no way I could move it myself. Plus DH and I talked everything out and came up with an even better plan than I had!
Also, I got bras and nursing tanks and reusable breast pads from friends but I would not get them from strangers! One of my friends sent me a maternity swimsuit top but not the bottoms and I was okay with that because I don't think I want used bottoms! Plus my butt is WAY bigger than hers! I'll just but my own bottoms.
@alm52386 I feel like I would be more comfortable if it was a friend. I wouldn't buy used regular undies from a stranger, I'm definitely not buying postpartum undies from a stranger.
@c1tym0m22. I just went on Amazon and ordered one. DH got up at 9am and took over and he and DS are on their way to Monster Trucks. I am going to lunch and getting a facial. I think all of that will help. 4 days of little sleep, working, and being solo parent took its toll. DH told me it okay to not be super mom and to take time for myself. Going to try and do that. I think lots of moms push it too hard. Thanks for the support ladies.

I always found used panties or swim bottoms odd... I even found a tutorial on a blog a few years back for how to replace the fabric liner as I wasn't sure what to do with old swim suits and was looking for donation/reuse options... to me that is still not enough...
@michaela0704, yikes! Ours sits up on top of a very tall dresser and they can't get to the outlet, but I could see our boys doing the same thing if they could manage to get to it.
Sad day... we've been having crazy warm weather and it finally dipped back down to 'normal'. I was checking out my winter bloomers (e.g., gold crocus and quince bush) only to find my irises have started to bud which means they won't make it for this spring... sad day!
While we're on the subject of night lights and things, these are our favorite night lights because the boys can sleep with them and there's no worry about the boys messing with something plugged into an outlet. They turn off after 30 minutes, or can be set to stay all all night. It's easy for the kids to turn them back on though if they wake up in the middle of the night and need light to get to the bathroom. Edited because the first screen shot had personal info.

We are going to have the same problem in Northern Indiana. Some of my tulips and daffodils started to peek out of the ground last week when we had 60 degree weather. Now it's back down to twenty. I purposely planted a lot of bulbs after I found out I was pregnant becuase I wanted it to look nice this spring and early summer when I might be a little too uncomfortable to do much yard work.
This is really random, but I love love love getting good deals on stuff! For instance, my husband and I got our mattress on sale from $5000 to $800.
We have horses and I have been wanting a new pair of riding boots. My dream pair was $486. I found them on sale with free shipping yesterday for $183!!! I'm so excited!!!
I just scrubbed the tub and then was like oops. Should I have worn gloves while using soft scrub with bleach?!!?
I don't...haven't with either pregnancy. I just make sure there's enough ventilation and wash my hands after I'm done. That said, I'm not sure if you *should* or not.
