What My Pregnant Self is Eating - 1/26

It's 9 am...I just had breakfast and I'm already hungry again. What's everyone been craving? Any new aversions?

  • The other night I was craving, and of course ate it: Ritz, cheddar cheese, and pepperoni. It was soo satisfying.

  • I could live off of bagels. Yum. I've also been really into bread dipped in balsamic/olive oil and a little mozzarella. French toast sounds amazing too. So, I basically only want to eat bread. Which isn't entirely too off from my normal state. Huge aversion to water, milk (but cheese is fine), and whenever I think of cookie dough I get so nauseous.

  • I just ate hard pretzels and cream cheese. I am dying for a spicy chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A. I haven't been craving anything until recently, but just like in my first pregnancy, the idea of steak makes me dry heave. 
    Doting wife.

  • I had chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast! Thinking about a salmon pesto pasta for dinner. Yummmmm.
  • I've been craving the salmon and pesto bruschetta from Postino, and soft pretzel fondue from Culinary Dropout...but I haven't felt good enough to go to a restaurant. I've been making soft pretzels at home pretty much daily, though.

    Big aversion to chicken.  I'm okay if we pick it up from somewhere, but the thought of cooking it or even having raw chicken in the house super grosses me out!
  • Well after I found that gif this morning, I've been craving pancakes. Besides that, all asian food is calling name.. probably trying to satisfy my sushi craving through dumplings and noodles. Totally not the same though.

  • Asian food does sound fab. I'm all about dairy. I was with my son too. Cheese. Cottage cheese. Yogurt. And I normally HATE cow dairy. We are an almond milk house... unless I'm pregnant. 

    And I have been eating subway. I get it double toasted to avoid the whole your gonnna get listeria thing. And it's been so delish.

  • Tuna! I'm trying to limit myself, but I could eat it any way, everyday! I bought light tuna, which is lower in mercury than albacore
  • My craving for Chinese has just been satisfied! Hubby picked up take out, and I got an order of crab rangoons and an order of fried dumplings. Apparently I wasn't in the mood for an entree, just appetizers! Sooooo good!

    I may or may not have cookies n cream ice cream in my freezer for dessert  ;)
  • Hot pastrami grinder with Swiss...yum yum yum!
  • Salt and vinegar kettle cooked chips!
  • Cereal! It also helps that I'm too lazy to cook most of the time.

  • @pinkprincesspiper just had Chinese for lunch. It was spectacular. A revelation even. Thank you for sharing your craving ;)
  • Super excited because we are getting Mediterranean tonight from my favorite place.  I love dolma and fresh Gyro's.  Just hoping I don't get sick, but either way it'll be with it.  

    I  just ate Buffalo chicken with ranch dressing and it was amazing.

    I am craving Dinosaur BBQ as well, but may have to wait until next week to get some.

  • Last night I was starving but husband was making dinner (so lovingly but SLOWLY). Didn't want to eat anything that would fill me up so I started dipping lettuce in a bowl of dressing! That was definitely a first.
  • @PinkPrincessPiper I love getting a bunch of Chinese appetizers instead of a main entree. Makes you feel like you have more options and as soon as I'm getting tired of one thing, on to the next! Yummm.

    Today I made an entire roll of cinnamon sugar butter crescent rolls and ate six of them! It was the only thing that sounded good because I've been so sick, but I was so hungry! :(

  • very weird thing today: I was craving fruit, so I cut up a fresh, cold apple, but when I bit into it, it tasted fermented! I thought I may have taken a bruised piece, so I tried from the other side, same thing! It was so strong I gagged. I peeled a fresh, cold orange, and the same thing happened! I'm afraid to try any other fruits today and ruin them for myself. 
  • OJ every day! I don't think I ever bought a bottle of OJ before this pregnancy but now if I wake up and there's none at home I wanna cry. 
  • Whoops, just ate a bite of pickle. Not a fan. Usually adore them.
  • Craving sushi so badly.  I bought a vegetable roll yesterday and it just wasn't doing it for me.  DH already knows to bring spicy tuna rolls and sashimi to the hospital after delivery.  Also, a turkey sub.  

    Chinese food sounds delicious, and the gif of pancakes is making me drool.  Get in my belly.

    I will probably force my husband to visit my sister 1 1/2 away shortly after birth because my favorite Sushi place is in her city.

  • I'm finding it easier to make good choices with food this pregnancy. Thanks to excessive heartburn and gas when I don't. Self control is not a factor.  Haha

    spinach smoothies for me! 
  • Im eating cheeseburgers like a fiend.  They are easy enough to make.  Slap on some veggies as toppings to make it seem healthy and mommy and babies are happy.

  • I had Enchiladas Rancheras for lunch. Definitely hit the spot! 
  • Tacos and home cooked burgers are my fave right now! And honeycombs. 
  • Oh my gosh went to Buffalo Wild Wings tonight and after waiting an hour for our food, it came out cold. Totally left after that and got our bill comped!

  • I have seen a significant increase in my appetite this week. I am wanting all of the following all the time: 

    Greek Gods yogurt- like omg I have had to buy more because I ate a large container in 2 days. I got the bulk container at Sam's....

    Steamed broccoli- I dream about it...

    Stir Fried veggies with ginger and soy sauce.

  • Everything that's been mentioned in this post I'm now craving!! Haha! I am loving oranges at the moment, the other night I had oven roasted cod with red pepper crust thing on it (no sides just the cod!) and an orange! It was the best! Also agree with @SpotConlon cereal is so amazing and crisps and crackers as I always feel nauseous if I get too hungry!  :)
  • Yesterday I had a dream about nachos. I was at a nacho bar adding my topping and when I was about to add meat DH woke me up. Now I have to get nachos asap!!!!

  • @Shan870 - Tacos are my ish. We have them at least once a week (all 3 kids will actually eat them, gasp!), and I make homemade pico de gallo & guacamole. I think I just figured out dinner.  ;)

    @Kathryn0903 That's awful! At least they comp'ed you. I've been craving BW3s. 

    @morgy_bee The Greek Gods Honey Yogurt is my fave. It's really good for cold oats & smoothies too. 

    @britvahok And now I'm craving nachos! Thanks!  :)
     
    I bought a mini cheesecake sampler on Saturday, and there's 2 out of 8 slices left.  :#  I'm pretty sure my husband didn't eat any...
