My confession is I kept DD up until midnight last night because I knew she'd sleep in if I kept her up. She woke up at 7 like normal but just wanted to come lay with me so we went back to my bed and slept until noon. Should make for an interesting night tonight but that's DH's problem.

Since DS has been sick this week, I've let him watch way more TV than normal. I'm trying to rest as much as possible in hopes that I don't get sick and TV and reading books are the only things that seem to make him happy.

The idea that I can't enjoy a beer until September is making me way more sad than it should.
I know I can do a sip of beer here and there but I want to sit down and enjoy an entire pint of beer.

As a 3rd time mama, I am sooooo not worried about the things I worried so much about the first two times around. Caffeine? Whatevs. Lunch meat? Gimme a sammich! Kitty litter? Ain't gonna clean itself.

I've forgotten I'm pregnant on more than one occasion. This is FLYING by...and I semi want it to slow a little because this is my last.

I don't wanna tell anyone I'm pregnant. The few people that knows only want to talk with me about baby stuff, how I'm feeling, and give unsolicited advice. I feel fine and I'm not ready to talk about nursery, sex (team green), or names yet. And take your f#%^*ing hand out of my belly!

haha I love it @advoCyndi30! I am in the same boat with you:) baby number 3. If you want a diet coke, drink a diet coke! oh and a little confession too. I only took prenatal vitamins with my first baby until 12 weeks or so. They make me too sick, even Flintstones. My babies turned out just fine. those were per doctors orders of course. I hadn't even picked one up this time and everything looked healthy and happy (heartbeat and neural pole) on our first scan. My doctor is so real and was like do not even take them. Your fine- just eat good.

@Mango517, I craved beer my last pregnancy. I tried every non alcoholic beer available and can vouch for Sharps not sucking too badly.

After the first trimester is over...you can have a beer. Only one at a time, so make it a good one.

. I drink an occasional glass of wine or a nice stout throughout pregnancy. Both my OB with my first and my midwives are ok with that.

I've been using tv as a babysitter for my son. I hate doing it, and know it's temporary, but feel like crap. Can't wait until this passes so I can get out and join the world. Woohoo to almost being out of first trimester!

I drink a small redbull in lieu of coffee some days. The caffeine (same as a cup of coffee) and B vitamins in it make a huge difference for me on bad mornings.

@LivLew I am the same way. I hate being center of attention. My sister is due in a few weeks and all she talks about is trying for her vbac. I might try to a vbac or I might not. It doesn't need to talked about all. The. Time.

@Mango517 I craved beer so badly my first pregnancy I actually bought non alcoholic beer. It did not satisfy the craving.
I have a friend that I should tell that I am pregnant but I can't decide if I want to or not. I was hurt that she didn't tell me herself and I found out on Facebook. I feel like I want to do the same thing to her which is petty and mean. Which means I will probably tell her before we announce- if we decide to anyway.

Yep! I really hope I can avoid a baby shower. I hate the games and can't stand opening gifts in front of people. I tried really hard to avoid a bridal shower but no one listened to me. It was dreadful. I'm also a minimalist so the idea of getting stuff I don't need/want also bothers me. I didn't register for my wedding and ended up giving many of my gifts to coworkers. I really just want to buy my stuff myself. I'm ok with my parents/in-laws contributing with some of the big items but I really don't want a bunch of clothes and toys. Honestly, this is one of the reasons why I'm team green. I expect my kid to live in onesies for a long time

@hupp0013 I bet you'll feel better telling her before you publicly announce. Maybe that will force her to think about how she didn't tell you and will make her feel like a shitty friend without you even having to try!

I had an O'Douls while out one night... NO THANK YOU. It tastes like piss water. It's a stout that I want so badly. There is a brewery in Philly called Yards we used to get to a lot that has the best stouts. Yard's Coffee Love Stout is amazing and is a brewery exclusive for a limited time every year.

Also, it's not completely petty to feel that way. If you thought you were close to that friend then finding out during the public announcement can really sting. I get that everyone gets to disclose their pregnancy in the way that feels best for them.... but it still doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt when you find out with the masses.

@aehogan90 we are going through the same thing! Miss 11 months is teething so bad and im lying on the couch thinking what the hell have i done. Not sure if i should laugh or cry. Likely both.

@Mango517 if it will make you feel any better I'm hosting a beer tasting on the 18th. There will be tons of rare stouts including my all-time favorite 2013 Bourbon County Backyard Rye. I haven't told anyone in the group that I'm expecting so I'm involved on the daily conversations of which bottles to bring, putting bottles for trade to acquire what we're looking for, etc. I'll announce to them on the 18th.

I am the same way with showers. For our wedding we had a "couples shower." No games, just food and booze. We opened presents while people ate. For a baby shower I'm requesting an open house style. People can come and eat and chat and I'll open their present then or all of them at home. Come as you'd like, leave when you'd like type of thing. Much better that way.

Oh I've definitely allowed more screen the then normal so I can shut my eyes for a while.
I also don't follow the "food rules" but it's per my doctor who told me both times, have things in moderation. So I've enjoyed a few sandwiches and some sips of coke. Not coffee because it grosses me out now and I've stayed away from raw sushi.
I haven't taken prenatals this time. I tired. I tired even harder the first time. Per my doctors okay I stopped both times, I just told her sooner this time. It is the only thing that makes me sick. So throwing it up immediately doesn't leave it in my system to do any good and then I'm sick for hours so cut that out. I have a liquid vitamin type drink in the morning that I mix with OJ and I do what I can with diet. I don't know what it is about prenatals that's the worsrt.

@Knottie63269859 I like these shower ideas. I feel like my MIL will be really into stupid games (she's already trying to set dates), so I'm going to need to figure out how to just have my mom and local besties throw a no-game shower and invite MIL to join us there.

I've been super tired and not feeling good, I let my son watch TV all the time so I can lay down on the couch. I've also let him eat junk because I don't want to fight with him. And I also have to confess I've put him to bed earlier than usual on more than one occasion just so I can have peace and quiet!

I guess my confession on the theme could be I'm really damn excited about my shower. My MIL pretty much started planning since when we told her about the pregnancy at the 8 week mark. She's going to host at a restaurant. DH and I are also minimalists, so we will treat the registry very very discerningly in hopes of not getting stuff that doesn't fit in our small home. So between great food and people absorbing the costs of funding a bunch of initial baby stuff, I'm pretty damn happy baby showers are "a thing" in our society. Edit: and obviously I love seeing my closest friends anyway, don't get me wrong. Yay parties!
And I'm a person who declined a bridal shower too- the wedding is the celebration, so I didn't see the point of a bridal shower and flat out refused my MIL. (And DH had to refuse her...and my mother had to refuse her...)

Ooooh, I thought of another one. It annoys the crap out of me when people refer to their kids as their mini, mini me, or their little. I don't know why, but it really does. Especially when the kids look nothing like them. Or they're 12 and they still call them their Littles. So annoying.

I also despise nicknames (like shortened versions of names). DS is Henry and when we told people that, everyone wanted to know if we were going to call him Hank. No. Or people who call their kids by their middle names. Just name your kid what you're going to call them. Saves a lot of confusion.

@AdvoCyndi30 this is so great! This is my second, and like the first I'm having a great pregnancy (knock on wood!!) I've also forgotten that I'm pregnant on several occasions, I end up feeling super guilty about it

I am so with you on this. My brother named his daughter Martha at birth but literally put "Mattie" in quotations after the first name. I have never heard the name Martha since the birth announcement and I don't understand why he wouldn't just name her what they wanted to call her. so now for her whole life, she's going to be correcting people to call her Mattie instead of Martha.

I dont mind nicknames when they're just thrown around by friends/family though. I named my daughter Alexia and we call her Alexia first and foremost because that is her name and I want her to know that and use it. But my MIL and some other family members call her Lexi a lot. And I even call her Lex, Lexi, Lexia, etc when I'm being silly. But the majority of the time I call her Alexia bc that is what we named her and we like her name and want her to know that!

I'm a Victoria and go by Tori. I like it. I have a fancy name for important things like my degrees. However, since I'm not super fancy, I use Tori for my day to day life. It's not that big of a deal.

I get the the middle name thing though! My husband is a Theodore and wants to name our son Theodore but call him by his middle name. No thanks.

@SouthernMama15 I am the opposite. I won't choose a name if it can't be shortened to a nickname. I like nicknames. There are names that I love but won't choose them because they can't be shortened. Bonus is that I feel like it makes it a little more dramatic when I pull out the full name including the middle name when the kids are in trouble
