Weekly Symptoms Thread 1/23

Re: Weekly Symptoms Thread 1/23

  • I love these symptoms threads so much! They make me feel so normal when I can't talk to anyone else about how I'm feeling coz it's still too early!!  :*

Metamucil has become my best friend this week. Started having a glass a night on Sunday and I've been like a new woman. Heaps more energy, got my appetite back and stomach cramps have almost gone. Still vomiting but I'll take that with how much better I feel in every other regard

  • 5w4d. Mostly tired. Boobs still hurt off and on. Occasional nausea. I can smell everything! I asked one of the ladies at work what she sprayed because it smelled nice. The people around her couldn't believe I smelled it from my office. They said it was a light scent. I thought it had a strong smell. May not be able to hide pregnancy much longer if I don't watch what I say.

Me too. Back got destroyed by epidural
I thought I was crazy and the only one! Mine did also! They had a student doing my epidural when I was in labor with my DS ALONE! The first one he put in my upper spine.  The doctor came in to check it and immediately told him to take it out and had to do it all over again! I still get shooting pains here and there from it. I will be going all natural with this baby because of the horrible experience.

5+5 lower back aching a lot. I'm nervous because I had the same feeling the 1-2 months prior to an ovarian cyst rupture back in July.

  • @JustBored10 sounds like my experience. Only the dude was experienced and he screwed up my epidural four (or more... not sure) different times, the first time causing nerve damage, the second and every time after he just kept hitting my spine. It was awful. He finally got it placed and it didn't even work. DH teared up when he saw my back a few days later, it was so bruised all over. He wouldn't let me look at it lol
  • My temps are acting awfully batty all of a sudden. Anyone still temping?
  • I have a symptom related question... has anyone had experience with switching to non-iron Prenatals to help nausea? I've seen a few different things recommend that. (You know, in my daily desperation search of "Google, help me... this can't go on forever.")

  • @HollyGolightly09 I just switched to non-iron and I feel SO much better. I was sooo nauseous all last week on my iron ones (could barely function at work, didn't want to eat anything but ginger ale, noodles, and string cheese). I switched on Saturday and it's been a world of difference. Some nausea in the morning but nothing compared to how I was on the iron ones.
  • @HollyGolightly09 I haven't had experience with it but it's interesting. I feel like I get a huge wave of nausea after I take my vitamins.
  • edited January 2017
    (Wrong thread! Oops)
  • @millicentmadden  I may have to try switching... I'm miserable. I remember taking multi vitamins with iron several years ago and they made me sick, but it was more of a "I just took my vitamin and now I'm sick".

@ashley2824  I figure it's worth trying... I don't feel any more nauseated after taking the vitamins, I'm just so sick all day. I'm willing to try anything.

  • @HollyGolightly09

Multivitamins usually make me super nauseated too. I had great luck last time with food based vitamins that were recommended. RAINBOWLITE one a day.
  • I'm 6+4. Morning sickness is killing me. Just so nauseous all the time... I have yet to actually throw up, just dry heaving and nausea.

To be fair, even if you have a perfectly placed epidural on the first shot, you'll have a nasty bruise after. Your spinal area is highly vascularized and you're being stuck with a hallow needle to have a catheter placed.
  • I'm nauseous in the morning but it is worse at night. And the exhaustion! It's all made worse by this nasty cold. Headaches, sore boobs, indigestion, gas....I'm treasuring each thing because it means everything is good.

Today I am 6w3d today and that's when the baby stopped growing last time. Thinking back on it, I had a complete loss of symptoms and didn't put two and two together. So being like this NOW I'm taking as a very good sign. I have a US appt tomorrow so hoping we see a HB.

My chest is very sore and I've been having spotting for almost a week now. No ms (with DS i was very sick). My appointment isn't for another 2 weeks. I'm actually feeling pretty pessimistic that this will be a sticky baby. Unless I have severe cramping or heavier bleeding my office won't see me until my appointment.  :'(

  • Anyone else watch Matt Bellassai and his weekly To Be Honest videos? I started watching his video this week, but watching him chug wine at the beginning made me vomit in the back of my throat, so I don't think I'll be doing that again.

  • I had a med free birth last time. It was the best delivery out of all 3 of my kids. I also plan to do that again this time. I'm hoping my water doesn't break like last time too. With my first 2, my water broke right off and then I was on the clock and needed pitocin to make me progress fast enough. I'm also using a midwife again because OBs (at least in my experience) tend to be so dramatic. The last OB I worked with started talking to me about a C-section an hour after I arrived at the hospital. I was like, wth? You aren't even giving me a chance to progress.

Anyways, as far as symptoms go, I'm not really experiencing anything. I took another test this morning to make sure the line was still as dark as the control line. The only thing I have going on is acne, constipation, and occasional hot flashes. I have never experienced hot flashes with any of my other pregnancies so this one is new. I have only had one episode of nausea and it was very mild. I'm hoping I start getting more symptoms just so I know my body is doing what it's suppose to.
  • 5+6 My head is killing me today.  Mild queasiness.  Feel like I have the worst hangover. Also woke up in the middle of the night with stomach pain and diarrhea.  Didn't eat anything unusual and haven't been constipated so.... not sure what's up with that. Having a great Wednesday so far.  :s

  • @SugarRush I have legit GERD and have been taking Prilosec for years. My doc said it was safe to continue taking, and I have had very minimal heartburn. You do have to take it a few days before it really starts working. You can take Zantac on top of Prilosec the first few days to get you through. Of course, check with your doc, but this is my experience and I think you will find relief!

@Raincity OMG the night sweats!! I woke up twice in the last week soaking wet. So much so that I had to change pajamas. I was like...."WHAT IS THIS?!" I looked like I ran a marathon.

I am 8 weeks 5 days today and am feeling really tired of feeling gross. I have all the regular things like nausea, sore boobs, headaches, bloated feeling.  What's killing me the most though is my never-ending stuffy nose that I've had since I found out I was pregnant and the EXCRUCIATING level of fatigue. I am lucky to be working from home as a contract web developer right now, but OMG, I can only get about 3 hours of work done a day. The rest of the time I am sleeping or laying on the couch spaced out. It's brutal! I've also been having a lot of heart palpitations and shortness of breath. I've been told it's normal, but it's kind of freaking me out.

Just had my first vomiting session. I've been nauseated for the past week, but hadn't thrown up yet. I think it was because I didn't eat something as soon as I got up.
Anyone else gagging or throwing up in the shower? I think it's the steam that's getting to me. If I open the shower curtain a little to get some fresh air, it's a little better. Just thought this was a weird reaction.

A nagging cramping feeling... not so much painful as uncomfortable/annoying. I keep reminding myself a lot is going on in there, but it's still starting to worry me. Anyone else?

Edited because it ate half my post

  • @HollyGolightly09 Yes. Occasionally. Not bad and not consistent, with no spotting or other symptoms so I've decided to not worry.
  • @HollyGolightly09, I had a lot of cramping that was sorta intense but more uncomfortable rather than painful. It has subsided some but I can still feel cramping every now and then. I don't have any spotting or other symptoms that are happening with it either.
  • @HollyGolightly09 I have that too usually after I've eaten or sat for a long period of time and stand up.

  • @mrsmgsee Do you take hot showers? I was getting sick when taking showers and my mom mentioned that she always got sick if the water was too hot. I've turned it down and haven't gotten sick again.
  • @Basherbaby Yes I do take super hot showers. I'll have to try to see how cool I can stand and see if that helps. Thanks!

That was me last night! I love super hot showers in the winter. Last night i was dry heaving in the shower and that's probably why. Just another thing I'll have to give up while pregnant  :(

I'm 7w5d today,  and on my lunch break I got a sudden hot flash and started shaking. I thought I was going to pass out I sat down and took some deep breaths and drank some water. It took about 10 minutes to pass. I don't know if it's because I was hungry or what but I did eat breakfast and it hadn't been that long until lunch.  I was just hoping I didn't pass out so Chinese food people didn't have to call an ambulance for me. I don't know if it's pregnancy-related or not but it was pretty freaky.

STARVING ALL THE TIME. I mentioned at work that I was so hungry and I got "Are you pregnant??"

.. no.. gosh.. can't a girl be hungry after a small lunch?

Also I'm exhausted but have insomnia around 3-4 am!! Getting up to pee multiple times does not help the insomnia.
Yes on the starving all the time and yes to the damn insomnia early morning and yes to the 2-3 trips to pee in the middle of the night. Suuuuucks.

Also @sableeg I keep swinging from hot to cold. I've been sleeping in socks and pants and then around 5am I'm hot and sweaty and strip down lol

Edited to say that I have a new symptom...sometimes when I sneeze my uterus screams in pain! Especially if i'm chill and relaxed on the sofa.
