Re: PGAL Check-in Week of January 23
Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
I'm Amanda, I'm 35 and have two kids. I had two losses in 2016 and this pregnancy was immediately following the second.
How far along are you?
Almost 13 weeks
How are you doing?
Well. Still have lots of nausea. I was hoping second tri would be relief, but it looks like I might be in this for the long haul, like with my daughter.
When is your next appointment?
Feb 10 (2 weeks)
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I'm posting this from the Las Vegas airport! I use daily to live here, so I met three girlfriends for a weekend away. We didn't step foot on the strip, did some hiking, lots of good eating and a ton of laughing. I so needed this!
Also, our gender reveal is Sunday! It's out first time not being team green and I'm so excited to find out!
GTKY: If you're planning to take a Babymoon, when and where are you going?
We're not planning anything specific. We'll do a family vacation to the beach in June.
M/C #2 - October 2016
MMC #1 - April 2016
intro: I'm Stephanie, one loss at 17 wks in May 2016 and one CP in Nov. 2016.
How far along are you? 9 weeks
How are you doing? I'm ok, but like i posted in my ticker change thread, I just found out that any form of progesterone can increase nausea. I felt so dumb just finding this out now after a month of being on it. Hopefully it calms down when I stop in week 12.
When is your next appointment? This fri at 9+4 for an ultrasound before I can schedule my Panorama bloodwork for next week.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: My appetite is carb city. I can't eat/don't want to eat fruits and veggies like I usually do. Hoping this goes away soon and I can get back to semi-healthy eating!
GTKY: If you're planning to take a Babymoon, when and where are you going? No babymoon- a school schedule doesn't allow me to go anywhere whenever I like and the only time off for me is April break and I refuse to pay out the butt for a plane ticket anywhere. Staycation babymoon it is.
Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
I'm Sarah (34) I have a SS who's 4 1/2 and a DS who's 20 months. I have one previous loss right before I became pregnant with DS.
How far along are you?
10 weeks 4 days
How are you doing?
Still nauseous, but better than before. Nothing sounds good to eat, so I am having trouble eating.
When is your next appointment?
I am meeting with the nurse now for genetic testing, then my next visit with the doctor is Feb. 10th.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I am almost to my previous loss date!!!
GTKY: If you're planning to take a Babymoon, when and where are you going?
We don't have one planned, my hubby just lost his job so planning anything is going to be hard. If he finds something quickly, I'd like to take the boys on a trip before the baby comes.
I'm Lauren, 35 and have a DS born 8/2015 and had a loss this past October.
How far along are you? 9 weeks on the dot today
How are you doing? I think ok. Still feel super hungover all the time, definitely worse at night. And chasing around my son is tough! My PGAL brain is in high gear tho. **TW- I see the goodbye posts, women who had healthy ulstrasounds who go in and no longer have a heartbeat. Have friends who went in to find just a yolk sac and no baby. And just last week the receptionist at my chiropractor had a still birth at 37 weeks end TW**. And I just get so freaked out!! I am just so damn worried that something isn't right. I have no reason to worry, everything "seems" ok. But I have this irrational fear. And DH just doesn't get it. He gets so frustrated with me when I'm down. I just can't wait til my first appt!! I hope it helps me relax.
When is your next appointment? Next Monday!
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Scandal is back on this week! Omg sooooo excited! But it's. Even so long I can't remember what the hell happened last!
GTKY: If you're planning to take a Babymoon, when and where are you going? No babymoon with this one. We went back to Jamaica before trying for our son. But this time we need new windows so that's our babymoon money. Lol
@dmbfan46835 thank you. I know seeing/hearing about all these later losses that you've come across are nerve-wracking and others don't "get it" unless they've unfortunately experienced any loss as well. You can celebrate every pregnancy milestone possible but until that baby is here in your arms, there's always those nagging thoughts that creep up. If you ever are ready and want to know, you can DM me at any time.
Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
Im littlebug, Im 28 (until thursday), and DH is 26 (until next thursday). Had a loss in July of 2016 at 9 weeks.
How far along are you? 12 weeks tomorrow!!!
How are you doing? The closer I get to the second tri, the more excited I get. However, my PGAL brain is making me more and more nervous about the US this week.
When is your next appointment? Friday! Its my NT scan, and I am really excited to see the little baby again! Last time it was just a blob, and this time it should actually look like a baby! But like I said PGAL brain is making me super worried that something is wrong.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I had the first tri genetic tests done, becuase I distant relative of mine had CF and passed away at 26 from it, so I wanted to know if I was a carrier, and I am, ugh. So we are now waiting for DH's tests to come back (probably not for like 2 more weeks), but his family has zero history of it, so Im not worried, but PGAL brain keeps me from feeling 100% confident.
GTKY: If you're planning to take a Babymoon, when and where are you going? DH and I, I think, settled on going to Rhode Island for a weekend in June. We are going out to Kansas in May for my sisters college graduation, but we are sharing a hotel room with my parents, so its really not a babymoon. We would love to go somewhere warm right now, but with Zika, thats not possible, so we are thinking RI to visit some good friends and enjoy a long weekend away might be perfect.

How far along are you? 11 weeks!
How are you doing? Good. Since stopping progesterone my nausea seems to have slowed. I've still thrown up when I overeat but I think that's a personal problem haha
When is your next appointment? Not until forever (16 weeks)
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: My friend gave me her Doppler that she used with her son and I'm excited to use it but I'm afraid I won't use it right and then I'll stress about not hearing anything.... so basically I have too much fear to test it out yet. Anyone use one that has some suggestions?
GTKY: If you're planning to take a Babymoon, when and where are you going?
No Babymoon planned... we're just hoping to be able to plan a trip home to see family and friends anytime during the pregnancy but with my limited PTO and my husband traveling a ton for work, I'm not sure it'll work out
Caitlin, 29. First pregnancy was twins, baby A was still born. Miscarried about a year ago around 8 weeks.
How far along are you?
12 weeks
How are you doing?
Still nauseous and throwing up constantly, super bloated, having really annoying heart palpitations, and trying/failing at not getting annoyed with everything my husband does.
When is your next appointment?
Feb 15
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Hormonal Diva Rant: It is so rare lately that any food sounds good, and all I wanted this weekend was Campbell's chicken noodle soup. I couldn't keep anything down, and that was the only thing that sounded good. My husband did the grocery shopping and brought me this weird organic free range chicken noodle soup with vegetables. Definitely, not Campbell's chicken noodle soup, so I had to go back to the store myself.
Positive Vibes: I have this Wednesday off work, so I can help out in my son's kindergarten classroom! I have been looking forward to this all month. And I found out his class is doing a zoo field trip next month on my birthday...so I am definitely ditching work for that!
GTKY: If you're planning to take a Babymoon, when and where are you going?
No babymoon
@Kudlica27, Panorama test.
@dmbfan46835, I think that's the worst part of PGAL. We know that losses aren't incredibly uncommon and it's hard not to worry. I hope you have an awesome appointment next week.
@mokay19, Doppler are tough at this stage. It usually takes me a good ten minutes to find it and this is my third go round. Just be patient, don't get frustrated, and certainly don't panic.
@ca17ra, I bet your husband learned his lesson, lol!

@a2003tiger we did the same for our sex reveal for DS. He was the first grandbaby and great grandbaby so we surprised everyone with the cake as our dessert for my husbands grandparents 60th anniversary party and let his mom and grandma cut the cake together. It was an amazing thing to share with everyone and we were so pumped to see that blue candy inside! It's so fun!
@maebee87 I seriously can't even remember what the heck happened on scandal last! It's seriously been off forever!
@ca17ra and now I want soup. I never want soup! Dang it!
Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
Becky, 39 DH is Jacques, 43
How far along are you?

How are you doing?
Paranoid, constantly checking for blood when I pee. I've only ever had MMC found weeks after the baby stopped growing.
When is your next appointment?
February 8th - next and actually 1st appointment.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Pissed off at one of my paraprofessionals that works with me and has been... bitchy, for a while. Lots of intra-school politics making us all miserable, but she is adding to my misery right now.
GTKY: If you're planning to take a Babymoon, when and where are you going?
No Babymoon for us. Have to save money for DH to come to the hospital when I have a c-section.
Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
I'm 37 and have 2 kids. I had an ectopic and lost my left tube last January.
How far along are you?
9+3
How are you doing?
I'm still pretty nauseous and constantly eat carbs to feel better. This is not helping my waistline though. Between the bloating and all of the carbs, I'm running out of loose clothes to hide my stomach. I haven't had any spotting in a week and I'm hoping my SCH is reabsorbed soon.
When is your next appointment?
Tomorrow. I assume I'll be going over the new types of screening tests, which weren't around when I was pregnant with my other kids.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I wish I had more energy to exercise. I don't want to gain the 45 lbs I have with my other kids. The first time it melted off, but I struggled losing at least 20 lbs last time around and this time I'll be 5 years older. I started out this pregnancy the lightest and most in shape I've been since my mid 20s so it's hard to see the scale go up so quickly. I know it's because I need carbs at every meal in order to function and not be extremely nauseous, but I wish the weight gain was more gradual at the beginning. I'm hoping my energy will be back and my nausea will be gone soon so I can focus on staying healthy throughout the rest of the pregnancy.
GTKY: If you're planning to take a Babymoon, when and where are you going?
It would be nice to go somewhere, but I doubt we'll be able to get away.

So I seem to have lost all my symptoms this week
Sorry to highjack, I just feel miserable emotionally today.
@MetsGirl18 I'm glad your spotting has stopped!
@AKFarmerBecky conworkers can make or break a work environment (especially in a school) sorry
@ca17ra I am picky about soup too!!
@AKFarmerBecky I know you're around 9ish weeks like me- sometimes the placenta takes over progesterone duty early (between 9-12 wks avg), so maybe that's the case for the decrease in symptoms? I feel for you with not having a dr's office so close and accessible since Feb 8th feels like lightyears away. Hopefully the doppler ships quicker than 2 wks to you so you can ease your PGAL brain. Hang in there
@AKFarmerBecky I started to lose a bunch of mine around 9.5 weeks. Not that that means anything, but I know the second my boobs stopped hurting I cried. FX that its just the placenta taking over, and you are just fine! Thinking of you!

Let's all do a little intro, as a reminder and for those that weren't around when we did the first time!
I have mostly been lurking here for the past month. I enjoy seeing other peoples symptoms and joys. I try and stay away from the bad news and worries. My name is Christina, I'm 28, my husband is 30. This is our second pregnancy. We lost our first in April at 15 weeks to Triploidy.
How far along are you?
11 weeks 3 days
How are you doing?
I'm getting better... *knock on wood*. I've gone 1 full week no vomiting! Nausea still lingers, normally if I eat too much at dinner. I'm still pretty tired and sleep is tough when you keep waking up to pee.
When is your next appointment?
I have my NT scan scheduled for next week. We had the NIPT drawn last Friday. Anxiously awaiting positive news!
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I was reading a few threads about first trimester testing and screening and just saw a lot of women biting each others heads off over it. I think I'll be staying away from threads that aren't significant to PGAL. Many of the women commenting about the testing (from what I gathered) have never lost a baby so the true meaning behind NIPT and NT is somewhat meaningless.
GTKY: If you're planning to take a Babymoon, when and where are you going?
HA! If you consider moving 650 miles away in June to the hot south a babymoon then by all means that's what we are doing.
No more nausea or heartburn, no more exhaustion, and I noticed this morning that my boobs feel great. I had one early loss and had not had symptoms yet for that one (just at 6 weeks). One loss at 13 weeks but that was 8 years ago and I can't remember. One loss at 11 weeks (at least that is when I started bleeding) and noticed that I started to feel better (and was excited about that) around 9 weeks. I know it doesn't always signal something is wrong. I just am having trouble believing everything is all right. Doesn't help that there are no nearby doctors, and I have to wait no matter what.
@AKFarmerBecky I'm sorry you are going through this, The waiting to see someone must be so hard. Hope everything is ok
