  • Second appointment on Thursday! According to LMP I will be 7+6 but I know I ovulated either on cycle day 17 or 18 so I might be a few days less give or take.  We will have our first ultrasound! I am so nervous because the last time we had an ultrasound at my 10 week appointment last year we found out I had a blighted ovum.  Hoping to see our baby and hear a beautiful heartbeat.
  • ME! I'm so excited its been over a year waiting for this (I know for a lot of people a year is nothing but dang it sure seemed like it). I go Thursday and will ne 7 weeks. I am shocked they are seeing me this early but happy I don't have to wait longer. I called to see what to expect and found they will be doing an ultrasound which I wasn't expecting yet.

  • I had my first appointment today! I am 8 weeks today.

They did not do an ultrasound like I thought they would. They wanted to wait until I am 9 weeks pregnant so I will be getting it done next Monday. SO came with and asked a bunch of questions and it was great having him be a part of it.

I also got my Pap smear done which was totally uncomfortable but I'm happy it's over with for now.
  • I had my second round of betas drawn today. First was on Friday when I found out I was KU. I'm under supervision of RE so being closely monitored. Waiting to hear back results and once they call with the results they said they'll schedule my first ultrasound. Waiting is the worst!

  • I have an appointment today. It was supposed to include an ultrasound but the tech is now out of the office :disappointed: so I will just meet with ob and have to reschedule my ultrasound. So bummed.

  • Having my first appointment and ultrasound on Wednesday!!! I will be 8 +1 and praying we see that heart beating away!
  • My 1st appt is on Friday! I'm so excited for it! Based on my calculations I will be 7 weeks 4 days and also get a confirmation of my EDD (I calculated 9/11). I also can't wait to hear the heartbeat, I will be getting an internal ultrasound like I did with DD at my 1st appt.

  • @Sugargirl1019 we're twins, although Friday will be my second ultrasound!  But I should be measuring 8+1 too!

Im dreading the pap my husband will be with me and last time I was PG with my son, the doctor made random small talk with him while she was preforming the pap, hoping that doesn't happen again!
  • We have a follow up scan on Thursday to make sure baby continued growing after our scan two weeks ago. After that, we will be back to regularly set appointments.

My first appointment is this friday, 1/27. I will be 7weeks exactly. This is my first pregnancy so im very excited but so nervous that there will be something wrong. Friday cant come soon enough!!!
  • I have my follow-up ultrasound this Wednesday to ensure we're not facing a cornual ectopic. Baby was really borderline but doc felt safe enough to go another week.
  • I had an appointment today, ultrasound and general prenatal check up.  I am 8+2 today.  I had a regular abdominal ultrasound this time which was nice, but boy they press on your stomach pretty hard.  All was well and got to see my little ones healthy heart beat!  I feel like waiting 4 weeks until the next one is going to feel like foreverrrrrr.

@Sugargirl1019 DH was in mine for the vaginal exam... a little weird lol
  • I have my 1st ultrasound on Wednesday! I can't wait. I'll be 8w.

    question...
i have to have it done at a radiology center because my insurance doesn't cover in office ultrasounds. They told me I can't have family come back with me, so I told my husband that it's kinda pointless to come.
Anyone else in the same boat? Now I'm nervous if something bad comes of it I won't have anyone with me after. Also, will the tech even show me anything? My dr said their dr will review and then my dr will go over everything with me at my appt the following week. Never had this before I always got the ultrasound in office.
  • @ashley2824 My husband always comes and stays with our daughter out in the waiting room because I don't want to be upset and driving if I get bad news. I've already had a post-funeral fender bender so my upset + driving record is kinda shot.

In my experience though, if the tech is talking to you and explaining what they're doing plus showing you the screen, it's good.
  • @sableeg Thinking of you today at your ultrasound!!!

  • So jealous of all you having appointments and ultrasounds. My appointment isn't until 2/16  :'( waiting SUCKS. I think I'll be the last one here to have an appointment!!!!
  • @daniellelynette Some of us are under ongoing care for recurrent loss or are considered high risk. Others, their doctors may just push things along more.

Tomorrow I go in for another US. Since I'll be 6w4d I hope we see a HB. I want to make it there so I can feel better after last time.

@daniellelynette This is why I'm getting weekly ultrasounds... possible cornual. Since you're jealous, I'm happy to trade.

  • I had my first appointment today! I was disappointed to learn that my midwife doesn't do vaginal ultrasounds (or like, maybe someone could have said this BEFORE I showed up expecting to see a baby), so I had to schedule a SECOND appointment today for a dating u/s and to see the heartbeat, but I did! Unofficially, I was measuring at 6+5 rather than the 7+3 based on LMP, but I will wait for my midwife to weigh in on final due date. Either way, it was 200% reassuring to see the tiny nugget and I can't believe I have to wait 4-5 more weeks to see it again!
  • I didn't mean to seem insensitive. I promise I'm not an idiot and there's no need to talk to me like I am one.
  • Thank you @Sugargirl1019 It went well!  My due date changed by 2 days, but all else looks good!  The doctor also confirmed that I have a large ovarian cyst which was causing me discomfort for a totally normal reason :) We got to hear and see the heartbeat which had us both in tears!

  • @daniellelynette I just got off the phone with my provider and I won't have my first appointment until February 28 (I'll but about 9 weeks), so you certainly won't be the last! I remember thinking with my first that I couldn't believe that they made me wait so long, but now with my second I'm glad to not have so many appointments up front - there are just sooo many as you near the end of the pregnancy.

  • Just had our first appointment yesterday. Everything came back normal; so that's good news! They set up 1 appointment every week for the next 3 weeks with a MFM. Is that weird? I have never seen a MFM doctor before so not really sure what to expect. Just feels like a ton of doctor visits in such a short time.

Next Thursday we should have our first ultrasound! I cannot wait to see our LO. I was hoping they would let us hear the heartbeat at the last appointment but they didn't do that so...
  • @Sugargirl1019 I'm so far behind, but have you had a pap sort of recently? I was expecting one too based on what I've read, but because I had my normal annual with pap in sept. they didn't make me do another one. At my doctor's office, if you've had one in the last 6 months you don't have to have another one.  Of course that may not be the same everywhere.  They did have all of the equipment out on the counter when we went in. My h was so surprised at the size of what they use. He had never seen a speculum so he had no idea of what we go through every year.

  • @daniellelynette I completely understand where you are coming from. I went to my first appointment and did not get an ultrasound on the first one. (Just a very uncomfortable Pap). She did measure my uterus to make sure I'm on track from my LMP and she said she didn't feel any abnormalities, but I'm still anxious. I'm also PGAL so I was surprised to hear that they wanted to wait until 9 weeks to do the ultrasound.

I think all of us have a bit of anxiety until we get to get to see our little ones and hear their heartbeats. I remember With DD i used to get so nervous between appointments hoping that she still had a heartbeat. I was sooooo paranoid.
  • @ChelleCPA My Dr didn't do an exam either... I'm assuming since she has done 2 in the past 3 months.

  • hi all! I had my first midwife appointment today and all looked well. I had an ultrasound and baby measured at 8w2d. I am very confused thought and maybe you can help?

A little back info: on Monday December 12 I took a test (first response) it was negative, so I took another test (first response) still very negative on Wednesday the 14th, then on Friday the 16th I took a test (Walmart 88 cent) that was Very dark positive as dark as the controls line.

So here in my confusion I got a positive when I was supposedly 2w4d?! That seems scientifically impossible. Anyone have any experience with this. Maybe I'm over thinking and should just go with the flow. From breastfeeding my cycles had been wonky so i didn't know what to expect my last period was November 6th.

I hope this makes sense, and maybe someone has some insight. It's to late to call my midwife back tonight or I would. I was just talking about it with my sister and she pointed out that I got a very early positive pee stick. Maybe I'm over thinking it but I'm worried maybe baby isn't growing right or something. Also mobile so sorry if punctuation, spelling or grammar is bad.

  • I had my first appointment today. Everything looked great, baby's heart is beating and measured 6 weeks. LMP had me at 6 weeks 5 days, so not too far off at all. :)
  • I've updated the PGAL ladies already, but today after both the clinic and (emergency referral) to the hospital ultrasound they confirmed that baby grew deeper in towards the tube, merely 3.5mm away, and my uterus is starting to bulge/thin there, gearing up for rupture.

They will be putting me under tomorrow to inject methotextrate directly into the sac and send me home to finish out the miscarriage over the next 2 weeks. After 3 miscarriages in 2 years just to get a sticky baby that I'm forced to terminate to save my life is just horribly, horribly unfair.
  • @GhanimaAtreides I am so terribly sorry to hear this. My heart breaks for you. <3
