@FSUNole31 Righ there with you. My son was up at 6am. I stuck my head into the hallway and told him "it was too early and to go back to bed." He sang songs to himself for about 20 minutes and then he decided that was enough of that.

I am going to lunch with my mom, grandma and sister for my grandmas birthday this afternoon. I am excited to have a kid free lunch at an actual restaurant! We also need to go to a tile store to pick out tile for our bathroom and I want to go check out some infant car seats since we need to buy a new one.

When I picked up DD from therapy there were a couple therapists talking to me about how good she's doing (yay). During this she's kissing my belly. I told her "okay that's enough". She said "I'm just giving sissy kisses". So I laughed. They both looked at me strangely. Then one blurted out "Your pregnant??!!"
I apparently forgot to tell them (I told the director but they didn't pass down the info). But come on... It's obvious at this point! Y'all have seen my hdbd pics. There is no hiding the belly.
Has anyone else had people not realize that you were pregnant? I see these people once a week. So not daily, but enough to where I didn't think they wouldn't notice.
Mom to Madison- 5 and Lillian 2....and now surprise baby #3!
@awoodruff27 It hasn't happened to me yet this pregnancy, but last time I remember being like 30 weeks and someone saying "Oh, you're pregnant? Well I guess you ARE showing!" Um. I'm 5'1". The belly was pretty much the first thing you could see when you looked at me. I was the belly with the woman. Small children would point. But sure, lady...
My kids seem to wake up at 5:45 on the weekends, but then I have to wake them up at 6:30 during the week and they're miserable. Why?! I try to get them to play quietly in their room until later, but it's never quiet, and I have to go check out crashes and screams to make sure no one needs to go to the ER.
This afternoon we have to drive to the north shore (after I typed this I realized people not from MA probably have no idea what this means) to do birthday dinner for my mom with her, her husband, and my brother'a family. Which is mildly annoying because she and I live 10 feet away from each other, but my brother loves north of Boston, so we get to drive to him (because his kids just have so many activities). And then my mom's H asked him for dinner recommendations so he can make a reservation (we're a group of 12 with all the kids). I look at the place online, not a meal choice under $20-25. I swear my brother does not know how to pick affordable places. Looks like we are going to have an $80 dinner for our family tonight (with H not working right now). Sometimes when I go out with my brother I feel like Rachel, Joey, and Phoebe from that episode where they keep going out to celebrate special things for Ross, Monica and chandler, and they order like side salads and stuff and then lose if when they are asked to split the check. (Like that friends reference?)
sunday i I am working and the DH and I are going to the AFC championship (thanks for the Christmas present, dad!)
This weekend is my DD's birthday parties. Yes parties because her friend party location couldn't accommodate all of the family who I need to invite. So today we have a dance party with her school friends and tomorrow is An Alice themed tea party brunch for family. I have lots to do today
@hopeful808 DS usually gets 2 parties. He always wants to invite friends from school and daycare (because he goes to half day preschool too), plus there are 10 kids between my side and DH's side in terms of cousins. We usually do just a family gathering at home and then something out somewhere for his friends. This year we skipped the friend's party and I had major Mom guilt.
@mrt that is my exact situation with my boys... they just turned 4 and we started turning on the TV and setting them up in the living room while we try to make it to 6:30/7am in our room. Some mornings we get extra guests but most days they just curl up with a blanket on the couch... no mom guilt here as they don't get screen time during the week so they really enjoy the time they do get Friday night/on the weekend.
@hopeful808 we're throwing 2 parties in a couple of weeks for the same reason as you. When my first was about to have his first birthday, my husband wanted me to throw 2 birthday parties - one for his family and one for mine. No thank you! This is the first year that my son has had a "friend party", so he's really excited.

DS' first birthday is coming up in April, and my mom asked when we wanted to get together for his birthday. I said that we were planning to have his party the Sunday before Easter (his birthday is later the same week). She said "For (DH's) family, right?" I was like "No, for everyone on both sides...everyone is coming to the same party." :rolls eyes: I think she was somewhat offended that she doesn't get a different party, but I don't care. It's the week before Easter, there are FOUR other April birthdays, plus I'll be 7 months pregnant. I do not want to do this twice.
We moved a month ago and our garage is still full of boxes. So this weekend we going to be organizing. Not very excited about it.

I'm going to Target!!! I'm sure this isn't a big deal to most people but the closest target is 45 minutes from me. I have some good coupons for there and I need those llama crib sheets from Nate Berkus kids line. Our nursery is farm animals so they are a NEED not a want haha.
Tonight we might go out to dinner. Tomorrow is probably a check up on stuff around the house day and nap
My cousin and his wife (and two kids) along with my youngest sister, BIL and nephew are coming for the day and staying the night. I'm so excited. The kids ages are 2 1/2, DS (almost 22 months), 13 months and 10 months! Both my sister and I are pregnant too (she's due in august!). Should be fun, and busy! It's FINALLY sunny here today so most of the day will be spent outside. DH is currently outside with DS pulling all of the "toys" out of the polebarn to clean it...let the sun shine!
@kahlan82 she started her usual demand for her drink and show. She is so persistent (re annoying) I just give up.
@FSUNole31 I can only describe my DD as abrasive in the morning. The second she wakes up it's constant requests for breakfast and a show. Even if I get up to put the TV on in an attempt to distract her she's still not satisfied until she has something to eat too.
lounging around today, but DH and I need to get to work on our plumbing project in the house. Last night I just could not get comfortable... lots of tossing and turning. thinking that I might really need a snoogle, even though I've been hoping to avoid it since our bed is only a full size!
@awillis13 soooo jealous you're going to the game!

@kassyfry I would have so much more money saved if I was in your Target situation. I live 5 mins from one and find myself in there several times a week for one thing that ends up being ten things.
My daughter turned 8 on Wednesday. We gave her the option of having a party or to go shopping, and she chose shopping!! (she's actually chosen this the last 3 years, hallelujah) So my sister, her, and I are heading to Target and Hobby Lobby (her picks) and then getting mexican to bring back for dinner. I'M SO EXCITED.
I don't know if this make us terrible parents, but on the weekends we set two kindles, water bottles and snack bowls out. My four year old gets the stuff when he wakes up in the morning, sets up his two year old brother with a show on his Kindle, and they easily let us sleep until 8 or 8:30. It's fantastic.
I live close to 2 targets. Man never fails if I go there for mascara I leave 100-150 bucks poorer . I'm getting my hair cut today. We have a new refrigerator being delivered today as well but that's the hubs thing to deal with. I'm also going to make a serious dent in getting the babies room cleaned out. I have baby fever now that her crib bedding has arrived.
@flyingncmama. I wish DS would do this. He refuses to get out of bed unless we are there. This is great at night because he doesn't get in and out of bed after bedtime but it makes morning independence impossible. Maybe in a year or so when he is, hopefully, no longer afraid of the dark.

DH has an opera rehearsal this afternoon, but this morning he is taking care of DS while I cook. I rarely get to cook uninterrupted, so it's been fantastic. He also got up early and let me stay in bed while I bumped. I love this guy. In other news, boeuf bourguignon for dinner. So excited and my house smells SO GOOD right now.
Tomorrow we we are celebrating my sister's 14th birthday and she has requested Old Chicago style nachos grande with chicken for lunch, so I get to figure out how to recreate that. She also wants chocolate mousse for dessert...so I get to whip that up (literally) this afternoon. So much food and my pregnant self is so happy.
@flyingncmama DS now knows how to turn on the tv and use on demand to find his kids shows. And he can get himself a juice box and a bowl of cereal (no milk). It's heaven on the weekends.
Woke up to confirm the scratchy throat and stuffy nose of yesterday is a full on cold. And I was up in the middle of the night throwing up my pho from dinner but I'm not sure why. It's gonna be a long, sad weekend.
We've been working on the baby's room this weekend. I got all the crap I was storing in there put away in other rooms and everything prepped for painting. We are doing one of those mountain murals on one wall, so it was a lot of taping. Now just waiting for my mom to come later this week to help me get it painted.
I'm also supposedly getting curtains up in the dining room right now, which I never got around to doing when we moved over the summer, but dh managed to get a drill bit stuck in the wall hanging the brackets up (how the f is that possible?!) and has now disappeared. If he ever comes back and fixes it, I will hang up the curtains. Sigh. I should have just done it myself.
Last night I got the energy to bundle up my Christmas decorations to go back into storage. I'm happy to have kept it all out because winter without Christmas stuff is just gloomy. Living in the DC area, winter luckily doesn't last too long.
Today I went to a Sister March to avoid the real crowds and time commitment of the real March that is 2 miles away, and then had my first prenatal swim class. I hope to sit on the couch for the rest of the weekend. Class was fun and not too strenuous, but I'm not used to exercising in general and felt like I got super heavy when I came out of the pool after an hour.
Edit b/c forgot to add the drama I saw today at the pool. I arrived with another family that were at the public pool for classes. Saturday is a busy day for classes and takes away from most of the free swim space. As we were walking in a man with his two kids was trying to get in to use the pool for free swim. He didn't belong to our county, and would have to #1 pay and #2 wait until the free swim lanes opened up - about an hour. The desk staff was very polite and had no idea that this man would throw an epic temper tantrum. I'm not talking frustrated man gets upset and self righteous. I mean, epic. He had a 5 year old boy in his arms, just went ahead and dropped the kid because he was so angry. The kid hit his head on the side of the counter and didn't make a sound, while this man yelled at the front desk, unconcerned after picking up the boy again, phrases like "Are you Kidding Me!?" and "You can't be serious" and "Do you have ANY idea, ANY idea at all, what it is like to have a 5 year old who is excited to swim and just tell them to wait!?" The kid was seriously fine. Not upset at all. If the kid breaks down at home, I can see that he has a great role model when it comes to having a temper tantrum.
YIKES. I felt bad for the teenager just trying to do his job.
Not too much going on here...a full day of driving to get a bagel for breakfast from my old college campus (it's about 40 minutes away, but sometimes I'll splurge and make the drive on my own and get a bagel...it's amazing), and then came back and sat on the couch eating Pepperidge Farm goldfish and watching Netflix.
At some point later today I'll head out for a run with DH. Until then...laziness abounds.
Not much of anything. I was going to clean and run errands, but for some reason I'm really drained today. Felt a little dizzy too. Only plans are nephew's birthday tomorrow. I think I'm going to take a nap or find a movie to watch. Unusual for me to do absolutely nothing. Guess I better enjoy it now.
I put the swing together today! I couldn't help myself. DH just rolled his eyes at me and watched me struggle. I'm babysitting tonight and tomorrow I'm making pancakes and bacon for breakfast! Then we will have another lazy day. DH hurt his back at the gym Thursday so he is whiny about only being able to sit on the couch.
Me, bump and DH are leaving my wonderfully chaotic toddlers behind for a night out with friends in the city. Woot woot! Oh shit wait... I can't have unnecessary amounts of wine.
Well we woke up in the middle of the night by DS after he puked in his bed and rolled in it. Yuck! All day I've been giving him bland food and watching him like a hawk. Luckily no more throwing up.
We missed my husband's work party tonight though and rarely ever get out, so that was a bummer. Tomorrow is our reveal cake with family. We are very excited about that!
